ASSEMBLY
Note: Bolts and nuts should be tightened by hand first; after all parts
have been assembled, go back and tighten all hardware with a wrench.
Step 1. Place the hitch tube (L) on a solid work surface with the
mounting brackets facing upward. Place the platform pieces (I) across the
hitch tube, positioned between the two middle brackets. (Make sure the ramp
brackets are facing up.) Align the holes on the platform and L-plates (Q),
secure with eight 3/8″x1-3/4″ bolts (C) and 3/8″ lock nuts (F). NOTE: The
bolts are inserted from the inside out. Step 2. Place
the cross bars (P) on top of the platform and the support brackets (H) beneath
the platform. (The rubber-coated ends of the support brackets should be
towards the front of the carrier.) Align the holes and secure with four
3/8″x2-3/4″ bolts (B), four 3/8″ lock nuts (F) and two M10x16 bolts
(D).
Step 3. Slide the four 1/2″x7-1/2″ bolts (A) into the platform and secure
with 1/2″ lock nuts (E). Place the two wheel pins (M) in the holes at each end
of the platform and secure with R-pins (J).
Make sure all nuts and bolts on the carrier are securely tightened with
wrenches before use.
Step 4. Place the ramp (O) on the hitch tube and secure the ramp in place
using the lock pin (N).
Note: Make sure the ramp is secured in place before fully securing the
motorcycle with tie down straps. See Operation section.
MOUNTING THE CARRIER TO THE HITCH RECEIVER
- Slide the anti-tilt bracket (G) over the end of the hitch tube. The side with the three bolts should face the vehicle hitch receiver.
- With assistance, lift the empty carrier and slide the open end of the hitch tube into the hitch receiver. Secure with the hitch pin and clip (K).
- Slide the anti-tilt bracket up against the hitch receiver. Tighten the bolts against the underside of the hitch receiver collar.
OPERATION
-
Remove the lock pin (N) to unlock the ramp (O).
-
Remove the ramp and place the end rung onto the hook end of the platform (I), making sure the ramp is securely in place. The bottom end of the ramp must rest flat on a solid, level surface when loading and unloading equipment.
-
Measure the motorcycle wheelbase to make sure the wheel pins (M) are in the appropriate positions.
-
Shift the motorcycle into neutral and, with another person’s assistance, push it up the ramp. Push the motorcycle completely onto the carrier platform until the front wheel rests in place between the platform rungs.
DO NOT sit on the motorcycle while loading or attempt to drive it up the ramp. -
Lightly secure the motorcycle using tie down straps (sold separately) so that the motorcycle won’t fall over.
-
Return the ramp to the mounted position and secure with the lock pin.
-
Properly secure the motorcycle for transport, fully tightening the previously installed tie downs.
-
Attach any needed markers and/or lights to the carrier and motorcycle as required by vehicle codes.
