Product Usage Instructions
FortiLAN Cloud Setup

Connect FortiAP LAN Port to Ethernet Cable.

Access https://fortilan.forticloud.com and log in with
FortiCloud credentials. -
Click Inventory, Import AP Key, and enter the Cloud Key from
the device sticker.
Direct Connection Setup
-
Connect FortiAP LAN Port to Ethernet Cable.

Connect the other end of the cable to FortiGate Ethernet
Port. -
Preauthorize the FortiAP on your FortiGate or wait for it to
appear on the Managed FortiAP page in FortiOS.
Network Connection Setup

Connect FortiAP LAN Port to Ethernet Cable.

Connect the other end to FortiGate Ethernet Port.

Access 192.168.1.2 using username ‘admin’ and set a
password. -
Specify the FortiGate IP using command: cfg -a

Bracket and Antenna Installation

Mount the FortiAP on a ceiling using the provided T-rail
mounting brackets (1.43cm or 2.38cm). -
For FAP-443K, insert antennas into the appropriate mounts and
secure them. -
Position the device against the ceiling T-rail and snap it into
place.

Bracket Installation
The FortiAP mounts on a ceiling using the provided T-rail mounting brackets
which come in two standard sizes: 1.43cm (9/16in) and 2.38cm (15/16in).
1. Select the bracket for the T-rail size: 1.43cm (9/16in) or 2.38cm
(15/16in) 2. With the ports facing you, slide the bracket left to right

1. Insert the antenna base firmly into the appropriate antenna mount 2.
Securely hand tighten the antenna fastening collar 3. Repeat for the remaining

This device has been designed to operate with an antenna having a maximum gain
of 3.38 dBi for 2.4GHz, 6.22 dBi for 5GHz and 5.89 dBi for 6GHz. Antenna
having a higher gain is strictly prohibited per regulations of ISED. The
required antenna impedance is 50 ohms. Under ISED regulations, this radio
transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or
lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by ISED. To reduce potential radio
interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen
