SAFETY
GENERAL LADDER SAFETY

WARNING! Risk of fall from ladder. Refer to the instruction manual/booklet before use.
Inspect the ladder after delivery. Before every use, visually check the ladder is not damaged and is safe to use. DO NOT use a damaged ladder -
Maximum total load is 150kg

DO NOT use the ladder on an unlevel or unfirm base.

DO NOT overreach.

DO NOT erect ladder on contaminated ground.

Maximum number of users – 1

DO NOT ascend or descend unless you are facing the ladder.

Keep a secure grip on the ladder when ascending and descending. Maintain a handhold whilst working from a ladder or take additional safety precautions if you cannot.

Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on ladders, such as side-on drilling through solid materials.
-
DO NOT carry equipment which is heavy or difficult to handle while usin g a ladder.
-
DO NOT wear unsuitable footwear when climbing a ladder.

DO NOT use the ladder if you are not fit enough. Certain medical condi tions or medication, alcohol or drug abuse could make ladder use unsafe.

DO NOT spend long periods on a ladder without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).

Prevent damage of the ladder when transporting e.g. by fastening and, ensure they are suitably placed
-

Ensure the ladder is suitable for the task.

DO NOT use the ladder if contaminated, e.g. with wet paint, mud, oil or snow.

DO NOT use the ladder outside in adverse weather conditions, such as strong wind.

For professional use a risk assessment shall be carried out respecting the legislation in the country of use.

When positioning the ladder take into account risk of collision with the ladder e.g. from pedestrians, vehicles or doors. Secure doors (not fire exits) and windows where possible in the work area.
WARNING! ELECTRICAL HAZARDS
- 9 Identify any electrical risks in the work area, such as overhead lines or other exposed electrical
equipment and DO NOT use the ladder where electrical risks occur.
9 Use non-conductive ladders for unavoidable live electrical work.
8 DO NOT use the ladder as a bridge.

8 DO NOT move a ladder while standing on it.
9 For outdoor use, caution to the wind.
9 This ladder is suitable for domestic and professional use.
LEANING LADDERS
- Leaning ladders with rungs shall be used at the correct angle.
- Leaning ladders with steps shall be used that the steps are in a horizontal position.
- Ladders used for access to a higher level shall be extended at least 1 m above the landing point and secured, if necessary.
- Only use the ladder in the direction as indicated, only if necessary due to design of ladder.
- DO NOT lean the ladder against unsuitable surfaces.
- Ladder shall never be moved from the top.
- DO NOT stand on the top three steps/rungs of a leaning ladder.
STANDING LADDERS
- DO NOT step off the side of standing ladder onto another surface.
- Open the ladder fully before use.
- Use the ladder with restraint devices engaged only
- Standing ladders shall not be used as a leaning ladder unless it is designed to do so.
- DO NOT stand on the top two steps/rungs of a standing ladder without a platform and a hand/knee rail.
- Any horizontal surface which looks like a platform on a standing ladder that is not designed for standing on (e.g. a plastic work tray shall be clearly indicated on that surface, (only if necessary due to design of ladder).
EXTENDING LADDERS
- Locking devices shall be checked and be fully secured before use if not operated automatically.
- The loose end of the rope shall be tied to the ladder (only if necessary due to design of ladder).
INTRODUCTION
EN 131 Certified 4-way, 4-section, aluminium ladder. Can be used as a straight ladder, step ladder, offset ladder and extension ladder. Fitted with two robust auto-latching locking hinges for multi-positioning. Features extendable legs providing increased climbing height.

OPERATION
WARNING! Ensure all hinges and locks are fully engaged into their locking positions before using the ladder.

STRAIGHT / EXTENSION LADDER
IMPORTANT: Always position the ladder at an angle of between 65° and 75° to the ground (see safety instructions above). -
Fold out the two sections of the ladder until the sprung hinge l ocks lock into their first position (step ladder), push in the t wo hinge locks (Fig.1) and carry on folding out the two sections of the ladder until it is aligned straight and ensure the hinge locks lock out into their second position.

To extend the ladder, pull the spring loaded locking arms outward (Fig.2) and adjust the ladder length as required. Ensure the locking arms lock into position.

Carefully manoeuvre the ladder into place, ensuring the correct angle and positioning for maximum stability.

STEP LADDER

Fold out the two sections of the ladder until the sprung hinge l ocks lock into their first position (the two sections are approx. 45° apart).
-
If required, extend one side of the ladder at a time by pulling the spring loaded locking arms outward (Fig.2) and adjust the ladder length as required. Ensure the locking arms lock into position and that both sides are extended equally.

OFFSET LADDER

Set up the ladder as a step ladder first, but then extend one sid e of the ladder by one or two rungs more than the other side, d depending on the height of the steps that the ladder will be placed on.

The shorter side of the ladder MUST always be placed on the step, and the longer side placed on the ground.
MAINTENANCE
-
Repairs and maintenance shall be carried out by a competent person and be in accordance with the producer’s instructions.
NOTE: a competent person is someone who has the skills to carry out repairs or maintenance, e.g. by a training by the manufacturer. -
For repairs and replacement of parts, e.g. feet, if necessary contact the producer or distributor.

Ladders should be stored in accordance with the producer’s instructions.
-
Ladders made of or using thermoplastic, thermosetting plastic and reinforced plastic materials should be stored out of direct sunlight.
-
Ladders made of wood should be stored in a dry place and shall not be coated with opaque and vapour-tight paints.
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools,
accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and
disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the
product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any
fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and
fluids according to local regulations.
