• Do not exceed the load limit of 60 kg (132 lb). Please remember the max load limit includes the weight of the bike.
• Never leave children or pets on a parked bike unattended.

Note: The M10 x 70 Bolt and M10 Spring Washer are not required to install the DuoStand.

Additional Kit Required (For HSD Gen 1 Owners Only)

The DuoStand HSD Kit (sold separately) is required to install the DuoStand on bikes with the HSD Gen 1 frame. Please see the illustrations on the next page to determine which HSD frame you have.

DuoStand HSD Kit

• M10 x 45 Bolt x 2
• Bushing x 2
• Wing-shaped Plate

Installation

Tools required (not included)

• 17 mm Wrench x 2
• 3, 4, or 5 mm Allen Wrench

Add anti-seize lubricant to the tip of the bolts before securing the nuts. If anti-seize lubricant is not available, apply any standard lubricant to reduce friction and prevent thread galling.

• Remove the existing kickstand. (Tool may differ depending on your bike.)

For HSD Gen 1 Owners

Identify the HSD Frame

• Before installation, identify the HSD Gen 1 frame by the kickstand mount located in front of the rear wheel.

• Install Bolt Sets in the order and arrangement shown below

HSD Gen 1 Assembly Order

1. Nut
2. Washer
3. Wing-shaped plate*
4. Bushing*
5. Bike frame
6. Flat plate
7. DuoStand
8. Washer
9. Bolt*

• Use parts from the DuoStand HSD Kit.

HSD Gen 1A Assembly Order

1. Nut
2. Washer
3. Bike frame
4. Flat plate
5. DuoStand
6. Washer
7. M10 x 30 Bolt

HSD Gen 1 only

Mounting Location for HSD Gen 1 and Gen 1A

For HSD Gen 2, Quick Haul, & Short Haul Owners

• Install the Bolt Sets in the order and arrangement shown below.

Assembly Order

1. Nut
2. Washer
3. Bike frame
4. DuoStand
5. Washer
6. M10 x 30 Bolt

Mounting Location

• The recommended clearance from the bottom of the rear wheel to the ground is 10 – 20 mm (2/5” – 4/5”).
• Measure the distance from the bottom of the rear tyre to the ground and adjust the height of the DuoStand by loosening the bolts on the DuoStand Ends to raise or lower the legs.
• Tighten the bolts to a torque of 8 – 9 Nm.

Optional: Install Lockstand™ Extensions
For maximum stability when parked, install the Lockstand Extensions. Available for purchase from your local Tern dealer.
