We thank you for your wise choice and for a purchase of this Timberk electric kettle. It will serve you for a long time.

1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please, read this manual before using the device. This manual contains important information regarding your safety, as well as recommendations concerning the correct use and maintenance of this appliance. Keep this manual together with cash register receipt and, if possible, carton and packaging material. This instruction manual describes different types of this device. The device you purchased may differ slightly from the description in the manual, which does not affect the methods of use and operation. The manufacturer reserves the right to make minor changes to the device without additional notice which is not fundamentally affect its safety, performance and functionality. There may be some misprints in text and digital notations in the present manual.

IMPORTANT!
Important safeguards and descriptions contained in this manual do not include all possible situations that you may experience using the device. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage of the appliance or its parts during transportation, as a result of incorrect installation or voltage fluctuations, as well as when any part of the appliance has been changed or modified.

NOTE
There is a label on the device which has all the necessary technical data and other useful information about the device. Use the appliance only for the purpose specified in this manual.

2. SAFEGUARDS

When using the electric kettle, please observe the following precautions. Improper operation while ignoring these precautions can result in an injury to the user and others, as well as damage to their property.

  1. Please read these operating instructions carefully before connecting your kettle to the power supply, in order to avoid damage due to incorrect use.

  2. Before switching on the appliance for the first time please check if the technical specifications indicated on the unit correspond to the mains parameters.

  3. Incorrect operation and improper handling can lead to malfunction of the appliance and injuries to the user.

  4. The appliance is intended for use only in domestic aims. The unit is not intended for industrial and commercial use, and also for use in:
    – kitchen area for the stuff of shops, offices and the other industrial places
    – farm houses
    – hotels, motels, rest homes and other similar places by residents.

  5. Do not use outdoors or in damp area.

  6. Always unplug the appliance from the power supply when not in use.

  7. Keep the base unit away from water and protect from splashes.

  8. Do not immerse the unit, cord or plug in water or other liquids. If it has happened, remove the plug from the wall socket immediately and have the unit checked by an expert before using it again.

  9. In case of power cord is damaged, its replacement should be done by the manufacture or service department or the other high-skill person to avoid any danger.

  10. Ensure that the cord does not hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot surfaces.

  11. To disconnect the appliance from the power supply pull it out by the plug only, not by the cord.

  12. Place the appliance on a dry stable surface, away from sources of heat (e.g. hotplates); do not place it under curtains and shelves.

  13. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.

  14. The appliance is not intended for use for physically, sensory or mental disabled person (including children) or for person with lack of life experience or knowledge, if only they are under supervision or have been instructed about the use of the unit by responsible person.

  15. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

  16. Children must be under control in order not to be allowed to play with the appliance.

  17. Use the kettle only with the base unit supplied, and do not use the base unit for any other purposes.

  18. Never take the kettle from its base while in operation. Switch the appliance off first.

  19. ATTENTION: Do not open the lid while water is boiling.

  20. ATTENTION: During the operation, the appliance heats up. Be careful! Do not touch the body of the unit while it is working. To avoid skin burns with hot steam, do not bend over the unit during opening the lid.

  21. Close the lid properly before switching on. Otherwise, the appliance will not switch off automatically and the hot water may overflow.

  22. The kettle is for heating water only, not for any other purposes and liquids.

  23. Do not attempt to repair, adjust or replace parts in the appliance. Repair the malfunctioning appliance in the nearest service center.

  24. Before cleaning turn off the device and unplug it from the socket. Let the device cool off completely (the heating element remains hot for some time after use).

  25. If the product has been exposed to temperatures below 0ºC for some time it should be kept at room temperature for at least 2 hours before turning it on

Control buttons

press this button to boil water up to 100 oC – the display with the current water temperature will light up.
The indicator will light up during the boiling of water. Press this button again to cancel.
Upon completion of the boiling process, the device will emit two beeps.
– press to select the water temperature – the device will maintain this temperature for 2 hours.

7. BEGINNING

  • To remove the foreign smell from the new unit before the first use boil the water with added juice of 1-3 lemons or a pack of citric acid.
  • Leave the fluid in the unit for 12 hours, then boil again.
  • Pour the solution out and rinse the kettle inside carefully avoiding fall water on the electric contacts.
  • Repeat the procedure if necessary.

8. OPERATION
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
FILLING

  • Remove the kettle from the base unit.
  • You can fill the kettle with water via neck with opened lid.
  • Do not fill the kettle with less than 0.5 l of water (less than “MIN” mark) to prevent it from operating dry and more than 1.5 l (up to “MAX” mark) to avoid overfilling and water spilling out during the boiling.

SWITCHING ON

  • Connect the plug to the power supply
  • Place the kettle, full of water, on the base unit

BOILING

  1. Boiling up to 100 oC
    Press the button to boil water up to 100 °C – the display with the current water temperature and the indicator will light up. The boiling process begins. Upon completion, the device will emit two beeps, the indicator will turn off.
  2. Water temperature maintenance function
    1. By pressing the button, you can select the water heating temperature in the following sequence: 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 oC. After the selected temperature stops

flashing (the indicator starts to light up) – this function is activated – the device begins to heat the water.
2. When the device reaches the selected temperature, the heating process stops (two beeps will sound), the indicator will be constantly lit, indicating the operation of the water temperature maintenance function.
3. When the water temperature in the kettle drops, the appliance will start heating the water to the selected value.
4. If you select a temperature lower than in the kettle at the moment – the indicator will start flashing, the display will show the water temperature at the moment.
5. After 2 hours of operation of the water temperature maintenance function, the indicator goes out , the device enters standby mode.
6. To cancel the function of maintaining the water temperature, press any button – the indicator will go out.
NOTE This mode has a memory function: if, when removing the kettle from the base, the water temperature in it differs by +/- 5 oC from the set temperature, then the function will continue to work if you put the kettle back on the base.
7. During operation of any of the modes, press any touch button – the device will enter standby mode – the indicators will go out. After 20 minutes, the temperature display will also go off.

ATTENTION: Your kettle is equipped with dry boiling protection system. If there is no or little water in the kettle, it will automatically turn off. If this happens, you need to wait at least 10 minutes for the kettle to cool down, after which you can pour water.

TEMPERATURE SELECTION
In order for tea to retain its beneficial natural properties and aroma, it is recommended to brew it with water of a certain temperature

Brewing temperature:

  • For drinks with honey: 40-60 °C,
  • White tea: 70 °C,
  • Green tea: 80-90 °C,
  • Instant coffee: 90 °C,
  • Black and red tea: 90-100 °C;

9. CARE AND CLEANING

  • Open the lid and pour out the water through the orifice.
  • Always remove the plug from the socket and let the appliance cool down completely.
  • Clean the outside of the kettle and the base unit with a soft damp cloth, then wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive materials.
  • Remove scale regularly, using special descaling agents, available at the market, following given instructions.

Removal of mineral deposits

The kettle should be periodically descaled, as mineral particles in tap water can form a limescale at the bottom of the kettle, which reduces the efficiency of its operation.
You can use the commercially available descaling agent by following the instructions on its packaging. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below using food grade vinegar.
Mix 200 ml of food vinegar and 400 ml of water, pour the resulting solution into the kettle. Boil the solution and leave it in the kettle for 20 minutes (or more, depending on the amount of scale), then pour it out. Rinse the inside of the kettle with cold water and wipe dry.

FILTER CLEANING

  • Remove the filter out of the kettle.
  • Place it under a jet of water and rub gently with a soft brush (not included).
  • Return the filter to its place.

10. STORAGE

  • Switch off and unplug the appliance; let it entirely cool.
  • Complete all requirements of Chapter CARE AND CLEANING
  • The cord can be wrapped around the base area for storage.
  • Keep the appliance in a dry cool place.

11. UTILIZATION RULES

The symbol on the unit, packing materials and/or documentations means used electrical and electronic units should not be toss in the garbage with ordinary household garbage. These units should be pass to special receiving point.

For additional information about actual system of the garbage collection, address to the local authority.
Valid utilization will help to save valuable resources and avoid negative work on the public health and environment which happens with incorrect using garbage

After the lifetime of the device expires, it should be recycled in compliance with the laws, rules and methods in region of recycling. Detailed information about the recycling of the device, you can receive from a representative of the local authorities, after providing full information about the device. The manufacturer and authorized organization of the manufacturer do not carry responsibility for the fulfillment by the Buyer of the requirements of legislation on utilization and methods of utilization of the device selected by the Buyer.

The lifetime of the device is indicated in the warranty card. Warranty period for the device and warranty terms are specified in the warranty card. The warranty card is an integral part of the documentation supplied with this unit. If there is no warranty card in the delivery set, ask for it from the Seller. The warranty card provided by the Seller must conform to the manufacturer’s form.
The manufacturer and the authorized organization of the manufacturer remove responsibility for any possible harm which can be caused to people, animals or property directly or indirectly, if this harm occurred as a result of noncompliance with the rules and operating conditions, installation of the device, intentional or reckless actions of the user- and / or third parties, as well as in situations caused by natural and / or anthropogenic accidents.
