Getting Started with the Falcon 4G Router
Welcome to your new Falcon 4G 150Mbps Router.
To get started, follow these steps:
- Ensure you have a Contract or PAYG SIM card activated and ready to install into your router.
- If the SIM card is activated but no internet connection is available, refer to the setup steps for the provider APN.
- Before powering on the router, ensure it has had a sufficient charge by plugging it into a power source.
Installing a SIM Card
- Open the Micro-SIM card slot cover and pull open the SIM / Reset rubber flap to access the SIM slot.
- Be careful not to pull too hard on the flap as this may disconnect it from the router.
Getting to Know Your Falcon 4G Router
The Falcon 4G Router includes the following key features:
- Micro USB connector for connection to computer or charger.
- LED indicators for Battery, Wi-Fi, SMS, and Network status.
- Power button: Hold button to turn on/off the device.
- WPS button: Hold for 5 seconds to activate WPS, short press to turn on/off Wi-Fi function.
- Micro-SIM card slot & Reset button to reset to factory defaults.
- TS9 External Antenna Inputs x 2 for amplified antennas.
Connecting Devices via WiFi
To connect devices via WiFi, follow these steps:
- Turn on the router and ensure WiFi is enabled.
- On your device, search for available WiFi networks and select the network name of your router.
- Enter the WiFi password if prompted and connect to the network.

How do I reset my Falcon 4G Router to factory defaults?
To reset the router to factory defaults, locate the Reset button near the SIM card slot and press it using a pointed object such as a paperclip. Hold the button for a few seconds until the router restarts.

GETTING STARTED WITH THE FALCON 4G ROUTER
Welcome to your new Falcon 4G 150Mbps Router.
To get started please ensure you have a Contract or PAYG SIM card activated
and ready to install into your router. The router is unlocked to all networks.
Please note that some pay as you go SIM cards can take up to 24 hours to
activate depending on the provider. If the SIM card is activated but no
internet connection is available, please refer to the setup steps for the
provider APN.
- You may need to place your SIM card in your phone or mobile broadband device and restart regularly to check if activation has been completed.
Before you power the router on, ensure that it has had a sufficient charge. Please plug into a power source to allow the router to charge before use.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FALCON 4G ROUTER

INSTALLING A SIM CARD

Open the Micro-SIM card slot cover.
Pull open the SIM / Reset rubber flap to access the SIM slot. Be careful not to pull to hard on the flap as this may disconnect it from the router. -
Install a Micro-SIM card to the Micro-SIM card slot.
WARNING! Your device does not support other SIM sizes such as Full SIM cards, Nano-SIM cards or any other non-standard Micro-SIM cards.
To avoid damage to the device, ensure that you use a Micro-SIM which is the
medium sized SIM card usually supplied with a SIM card selection.
Once the SIM is installed, ensure that the battery has sufficient charge Press
and Hold the Power button at the bottom of the router to power the router on.
The Power Button is the button listed as number 3 on the previous page. The
router will cycle through the 4 LEDS whilst it boots up. Once the router is
booted up the LEDs will change as indicated on the next page.
ICON DESCRIPTION
Below shows the LED indicators on your router and explanation of the LED light behaviours.

SMS| Blue Solid| You have unread messages
Blue blinking| You have new messages or the message storage is full.
Light off| There is neither an unread message nor a new message.
****Network| Red| The device is in error status.

- There is no Micro-SIM card inserted
- There is no network service available.
Green solid| The device is registered to the 2G/3G mobile network.
Green blinking| The device is connected to the 2G/3G mobile network and data
is being transferred.
Blue solid| The device is registered to the 4G LTE network.
Blue blinking| The device is connected to the 4G LTE network and data is being
transferred.
CONNECTING DEVICES VIA WIFI
To connect devices to your router:

Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer or other device.

On your computer or device, search for wireless networks
- For Windows devices, click the Internet Access icon.
- For Mac devices, navigate to the Wi-Fi menu.
- For tablets, look for a Settings option.

Select your routers Wi-Fi name. By default all Falcon 4G 150 routers come pre-configured ready for use with the the SSID and password set as:
SSID: Falcon 4G 150
Password: F@1CON_99 -
Once the Wi-Fi SSID has been selected and password entered then your device should be connected to the router and ready for use.
If the router has failed to connect to the internet then please follow the steps regarding APN setup to ensure that your router has picked up the correct APN (Access Point Name) as some SIM providers require these settings to be manually entered for connectivity.
CONNECTING DEVICES VIA WPS
Connect wireless WPS compatible devices:
This allows you to connect to WPS capable devices without having to enter a
wifi password.
- Ensure that the WPS capable device is turned on and functioning properly.
- Press the WPS button on the connecting device and hold for two seconds.
- On the Router, press the WPS button. …
Wait a few moments for the connection to complete
CONNECTING DEVICES VIA CABLE
To connect your router via cable to a PC:

Connect a computer to your device with a USB cable.
-
Power on your device. The operating system detects and identifies new hardware, and automatically installs the software.
NOTE:
If the system does not automatically launch installation, you can double-click the device installation icon in: My Computer >ZTEMODEM to install the software. -
Wait until the computer is connected to your device successfully.
HOW TO CONFIGURE PC FOR CONNECTION IF REQUIRED:
The following procedure describes how to configure the Internet Protocol in
Windows for your Wi-Fi connection.
- Right-click Network and select Properties.
- Select Change adapter settings.
- Right-click Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and click Properties.
- Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, and click OK.
ROUTER CONFIGURATION
If you wish to configure the routers settings such as modify the SSID or password and also configure the Router APN settings you will need to access the Router Configuration Page.
- Firstly, ensure that the router is connected via wi-fi to the device that you wish to access the Router Configuration Page on, eg. Laptop, Tablet or Mobile Phone.
- Enter the following URL : http://192.168.0.1
- Once the page has been launched it will prompt for an Admin Password. This is currently set to F@1con_admin_99
ROUTER SETTINGS ( WI-FI SETTINGS )
CHANGING THE ROUTER SSID & WI-FI PASSWORD:
To change the SSID ( How the router appears in Wi-fi searches) and also the
Wi-fi Password, navigate to the Wi-fi Settings page.
Change the SSID and Password and Apply settings. *If changing SSID / Password you will need to reconnect the network with the new settings.
ROUTER SETTINGS ( APN SETTINGS )
CONFIGURING APN SETTINGS:
If the SIM card is installed but there is no internet, sometimes this is a
result of the provider APN not being recognised (Access Point Name. If APN
Settings are not recognised automatically these are sometimes required to be
manually entered to be able to access the Service Provider data. Please see
below details on how to access and change the APN Settings.
*Adding a New Manual APN Profile can only be performed using a the PC interface. This can still be done via a Smartphone by selecting PC at the bottom of the Login Page.
Firstly turn off the LTE data connection
Then click Settings to enter the connection settings page
Ensure the Mode is set to manual and enter the new APN details which are
available on the internet or there is a selection of popular settings on the
next page.
Once completed, Click Apply to save the settings.

Once the new APN settings have been applied, ensure that you enable LTE data again to connect to the internet.
SMS MESSAGES
If the SIM card in your router receives a text message, you will be able to access these messages through the router configuration page. Log into the router page as previous, with the router admin password.
You will be able to view and delete text messages sent from the service provider. These are usually texts with information regarding your SIM data plan.
TROUBLESHOOTING

**** The connection between your device and a client through Wi-Fi cannot be established|
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi function is enabled.
- Refresh the network list and select the correct SSID.
- Check the IP address, and ensure that your client can automatically obtain an IP address.
- Enter the correct network key (Wi-Fi password) when you connect the client to your device
- Ensure that the router is set up for the right APN settings, (If detected automatically, the router may not have picked up the correct settings and this may need to be configured manually.) Refer to the APN settings section in the manual to configure.
The client connected to the device cannot access the Internet|
- Ensure that your Micro-SIM card is available.
- Change the location and find a place with good signal.
- Check the settings of the WAN connection mode.
- Contact your service provider and confirm your APN settings.
**** The router configuration page cannot be visited.|
- Enter the correct address. The default address is http://192.168.0.1
- Use only one network adapter in your PC if connecting directly via cable to a computer.
- Do not use any proxy server.
You have performed a full factory reset on the router and it no longer shows up as Falcon 4G 150|
- If you have performed a Factory Reset on the router then this will now default back to its factory settings. You can find the details for the hard reset login on rear of this User Manual
- Follow the instructions in the Factory Reset section to reconfigure the router after a reset.
Router will not power up|
- Check that the router has been charged.
- Check that the charge cable is correct and operational.
- If the battery is faulty, contact your provider for support.

ROUTER FACTORY RESET
A factory reset should only be used as a last resort if all other resolution
attempts have failed.
PLEASE NOTE: All configurations, SSID’s and Wi-Fi Passwords will be lots
and will return to the factory default settings.
THE FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS CAN BE FOUND ON A STICKER ON THE REVERSE OF
THIS USER MANUAL
To perform a Factory Reset of the router you will need to open the SIM / Reset
flap on the bottom of the router.
Locate the reset button marked above and with a pen / paperclip or other small
appliance, Press and hold the Reset button for about 15 to 20 seconds. Whilst
the Reset button is depressed, all of the LED Icons will light up.
When the reset button is released, the LEDs will flash and the will cycle
through the LEDs whilst a normal boot up process resumes.
THE ROUTER WILL NO LONGER SHOW UP AS FALCON 4G 150. INSTEAD THE WIFI SSID WILL
SHOW AS PER LABEL ON THE BACK OF THIS USER MANUAL. TO RECONFIGURE THE ROUTER
YOU WILL NEED TO LOG IN TO THE WEB INTERFACE AND CHANGE THE SSID AND WIFI
PASSWORD BACK TO THE DETAILS THAT ARE ON THE FRONT OF THE ROUTER OR A CHOSEN
ALTERNATIVE.
