Product Overview
25
Operating Principle and Use of the Appliance
2. Operating Principle and Use of the Appliance
2.1 Operation of the heating elements
After starting operation, the oven is heated to the set cooking temperature by
the heating elements corresponding to the selected heating mode. When the
target temperature is reached (i.e. measured by the temperature sensor), the
heating elements are automatically switched off. To maintain the set
temperature, the heating process starts again and again automatically as soon
as the cooking chamber temperature drops and it stops when it is reached.
Safety function: Auto operation stop For your safety, operation stops
automatically after 5 hours without any operation and after a total of 10
hours without any operation the appliance switches to standby mode (t o resume
operation etc., see “Operation and Setting”).
2.2 Cooling fan
To ensure low temperatures at the controls and door handle during operation
and to prevent excessive heating of the appliance, a builtin fan generates an
air flow for cooling. This is activated as soon as a heating mode is set. The
air exits between the oven door and the control panel. Depending on the
residual heat, the cooling fan continues to run for a while after switching
off to allow the appliance to cool down more quickly after operation.
ATTENTION! Risk of damage! To avoid overheating the appliance and the risk of
heat damage, be careful not to block the ventilation paths!
Noise emissions during operation During cooling operation, a slight swooshing
noise may be heard from the cooling fan. In addition, depending on the
duration of use and heat generation, there may be slight operating noises /
vibrations of the fan in the cooking chamber during hot air circulation. This
is normal and harmless.
26
EN
Operating Principle and Use of the Appliance
2.3 Use of the accessories
The slidein rail racks at the sides of the cooking chamber have 5 slidein
levels (or 7 without fitting the telescopic runners), which are counted from
the bottom to the top (see also “appliance components”) and are used to hold
baking trays, cooking grate and other accessories. Observe the following
handling instructions: · If possible, use only original accessories. · When
using accessories with antitip bars,
make sure they are oriented correctly (with the antitip bar to the rear; see
exemplary illustration). · Place the rear corners of each accessory between
the two metal bars of the desired slidein level and push it into the cooking
chamber as far as it will go. · If you want to use several levels at the same
time, choose a fanassisted heating mode if possible for optimum cooking
results. · The accessories can be pulled out about halfway without tipping
over if they have been inserted correctly.
CAUTION! Risk of burns! The oven, as well as accessories and dishes, become
very hot during operation and can cause burns! Protect yourself e.g. with oven
gloves to remove some thing from the heated cooking chamber and be very
careful when doing so!
ATTENTION! Risk of damage! To avoid damage, always make sure that all
accessories are fully inserted and are not touching the oven door before
closing it.
27
Operating Principle and Use of the Appliance
2.4 Use of the telescopic pull-outs The side racks in the cooking chamber have
telescopic pullouts on one 2 slidein levels. These make it easier to slide the
cooking grate, baking tray and other accessories in and out of the cooking
chamber, as well as providing additional protection against tipping when
pulling them out (for disassembly/assembly and cleaning, see the relevant
sections). Use them as follows: · Pull the telescopic pullouts of one level
(on both sides)
out of the cooking chamber towards the front. · Place the desired accessories
(e.g. baking tray, rack)
with the corresponding recesses on the holding pins of the telescopic pullout.
· Push them into the cooking chamber as far as they will go, if possible by
pushing on both sides. · Do not close the oven door before the telescopic
pullouts and all accessories are fully inserted.
2.5 Opening and closing the oven door To open the appliance, always grasp the
door handle in the middle before pulling it forward and slightly downwards.
Caution! Risk of burns! To avoid burns from steam escaping from the cooking
chamber, keep your distance from the edges of the door when opening the heated
appliance and do not grip the door handle too far to the side! Note, that
depending on the temperature, escaping steam may not be visible.

Notes Before Use
3.2 Commissioning
Setting the time and date before use When switching on for the first time or
after a longer power failure, the setting of the clock is reset and must be
set to be able to use all functions of the oven (Display ,,12.30″ with
flashing dot; time setting mode). To do this, proceed as described in
“operation and setting”.
Odour and vapour formation during initial operation When using the appliance
for the first time, insulating materials and heating elements may cause a
particular smell and there may also be slight vapour. This is normal and
harmless; however, do not heat any food in the cooking chamber yet in this
case. Proceed as described below.
· Only put the appliance into operation if it is in perfect condition and has
been properly installed by a suitably qualified electrician.
· Before using the oven to prepare food, first heat it empty for approx. 30
minutes with the settings Top/bottom heat and 200°C (for operation and
settings, see relevant sec tions).
· Keep the room well ventilated during this process until any odours or smoke
that may appear have disappeared.
· Wipe out the cooking chamber with a damp cloth and dry it well.
· You can then use the cooking chamber to heat food. To do this, follow the
instructions in the relevant sections.

Operation, Setting and Use
4.2 Description of the heating modes
Oven lighting without lighting On the first level of the function selection
knob, the cooking chamber is illuminated without any other function. To enable
monitoring of the cooking process without having to open the appliance door,
the cooking chamber lighting is also active for all heating modes except the
Eco mode.
Defrost The air in the cooking chamber is circulated without heating. This
gently accelerates the defrosting process.
Bottom heat The heat is concentrated from below without browning the top of
the food. Suitable e.g. for baking cakes with fruit toppings, pizzas, or for
dishes with long cooking times, such as casseroles, stews or pastries, as well
as for steam cleaning (for a description, see the cleaning chapter).
Top-/ Bottom heat The heat is evenly distributed to the food from above and
below. Baking or roasting is only possible on one level. Suitable e.g. for
roasting in a Roman pot, sheet cakes, bread etc. .
Convection The heat generated evenly at the top and bottom is quickly
distributed in the cooking chamber. The food is browned on the outside and
remains juicy on the inside. Suitable e.g. for frying at high temperatures or
for large pieces of meat.
32
EN
Operation, Setting and Use
Grill The top of the food is browned by heat concentrated centrally from
above. Position the food centrally under the grill. Suitable e.g. for grilling
small quantities and for browning food.
Full width grill The large concentrated heat from above browns the top of the
food. Suitable e.g. for grilling and browning larger quantities.
Grilling / Roasting system The heat concentrated over a large area from above
is supplemented by the circulation of heated air. Suitable e.g. for grilling
and roasting larg pieces of meat, as well as for gratinating. Note: Usually,
for this heating mode, the most favourable temperature is 165 °C, as marked on
the temperature knob.
Hot air The air in the cooking chamber is circulated and heated at the same
time. This speeds up the cooking process and reduces the risk of the food
burning. Suitable e.g. for cooking on several levels.
Eco mode for energy-saving cooking The heat generated evenly at the top and
bottom is quickly distributed in the cooking chamber, whereby the operating
time of the heating elements is regulated in such a way that power consumption
is reduced. The cooking time is extended, comparable to a “slow cooking”
function, and the food is heated in a particularly gentle and energysaving
way. Suitable e.g. for juicy pieces of meat.

Application Recommendations, Guidelines and Tips
5. Application Recommendations, Guidelines and Tips
5.1 Important notes on use
WARNING! Risk of burns! The oven, as well as accessories and dishes, become
very hot during operation and can cause burns! Never touch the inside surfaces
of the appliance or the heating elements when heated and protect yourself,
e.g. with oven gloves, to remove anything from the heated cooking chamber!
Always keep children at a safe distance during operation! Do not pour water
into the hot cooking chamber! The resulting hot steam can cause scalding and
also damage the enamel coating due to the temperature change!
WARNING! Fire hazard! Heated food containing fat, oil or alcohol can ignite
quickly at high temperatures! Food can burn, cause harmful smoke or catch
fire. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use! Make sure that baking
paper, food, etc. cannot come into contact with the heating elements or heated
surfaces (e.g. by protruding parts, by draughts when the door is opened or
because of air circulates in the cooking chamber) and always keep the cooking
chamber clean! In the event of a fire, do not open the appliance door,
disconnect the power supply and have the appliance checked by a suitably
qualified specialist before any further use!

Application Recommendations, Guidelines and Tips
Formation of acrylamide in food and corresponding recommendations for the
preparation of food At high temperatures, harmful acrylamide forms from sugar
and protein building blocks in food, especially in potato and cereal products
and increasingly in the edge layers. To avoid this as much as possible and to
minimise health risks, observe the following guidelines for the preparation of
corresponding dishes: · If necessary, use heatstable oil or fat. · Do not
choose pieces that are too thin, spread them evenly if necessary and turn the
food regularly. Follow the manufacturer`s instructions for readymade products.
· Ensure even heating, keep the temperature in the medium range and avoid
heavy browning. · Make sure that the food retains a certain moisture content!
· Do not heat the food longer than the cooking point is reached.
Condensation during operation Depending on the quantity and consistency of the
food, steam is increasingly produced in the oven, which can lead to
condensation, e.g. on the oven door. This cannot be avoided, but does not
affect the function. After cooking, do not leave the food in the cooking
chamber longer than necessary and, if necessary, dry any residual moisture in
the cooking chamber completely after it has cooled down.

Application Recommendations, Guidelines and Tips
5.2 General recommendations for cooking in the oven
· Only use accessories required for the cooking process and, if possible,
original ones, as well as suitable ovenware, which you place in the middle of
the grate. Dark metal dishes are suitable, for example, as they absorb heat
better. Bright, shiny surfaces, ceramics or glass reflect the heat and are
therefore not well suited.
· Note that the required cooking time and oven temperature depend on many
factors, such as cooking quantity / thickness, consistency and quality of the
food or the heating mode set, and thus can vary considerably. Therefore, do
not rely completely on specifications in recipes, cooking tables or similar.
Keep an eye on the cooking status and adjust the settings if necessary.
· As a rule, it is not possible to shorten the recommended cook ing duration
by increasing the temperature (The dish will usually cook faster on the
outside than on the inside).
· For cooking on several levels, use a fanassisted heating mode to help
distribute the heat evenly in all areas of the cooking chamber.
· Only open the appliance door during cooking if absolutely necessary to keep
the oven temperature and, if applicable, the air circulation stable.
· To avoid soiling the cooking chamber with f
