Product Usage Instructions

Beanie Knitting

  1. Cast on 49 (51-53-55) sts using 8mm needles and Multi Twist yarn.
  2. 1st row (RS): K2, P1, K1, repeat from to last st, K1.
  3. 2nd row: K1, P1, K1, repeat from to end.
  4. Repeat 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 4cm from the beginning, ending with a 2nd row.

Finishing

  1. Do not press the Beanie.
  2. Using a flat seam, join side edges together to form the center back seam.
  3. Sew in ends securely.
  4. Using Acrylic 8ply yarn, make a large pom pom and attach it securely to the top of the Beanie.

  • To fit head (approx) 51 (53-54-55) cm
  • YARN
  • Multi Twist 100g x 1 ball for Beanie Acrylic 8 ply 100g x 1 ball for Pom Pom
  • NEEDLES AND EXTRAS
  • 1 pair 8mm knitting needles or size needed to obtain correct tension
  • A yarn needle.
  • TENSION
  • 11 sts and 14 rows to 10 cm over stocking st, using 8mm needles and Multi Twist.
  • BEANIE
  • Using 8mm needles and Multi Twist, cast on 49 (51-53-55) sts.
  • 1st row (RS) – K2, P1, K1, rep from to last st, K1. 2nd row – K1, P1, K1, rep from to end.
  • Rep 1st and 2nd rows until work measures 4cm from beg, ending with a 2nd row.
  • Work in stocking st until work measures 12 (13-13-14) cm from beg, ending with a purl row and dec 0 (1-3-0) st/s. = 49 (50-50-55) sts. Shape Crown – 1st row (RS) – K4 (5-5-4), K2tog, rep from to  last st, K1 = 41 (43-43-46) sts.
  • 2nd and foll alt rows – Purl.
  • 3rd row – K3 (4-4-3), K2tog, rep from to last st, K1
  • = 33 (36-36-37) sts.
  • 5th row – K2 (3-3-2), K2tog, rep from to last st, K1
  • = 25 (29-29-28) sts.
  • 7th row – K1, K2tog, rep from to last st, K1 (2-2-1) st/s, K0 (2-2-0) tog = 17 (19-19-19) sts.
  • 8th row – Purl.
  • 9th row – K1, K2tog, rep from to end = 9 (10-10-10) sts.
  • Break off yarn leaving a long end. Run end through rem sts, draw up tightly and fasten off securely.
  • FINISHING
  • DO NOT PRESS. Using a flat seam, join side edges together to form centre back seam. Sew in ends. Using Acrylic 8ply, make a large pom pom and attach pom pom securely to top of Beanie.
