Explanation of Graphical Symbols
- The lightning flash & arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert you to the presence of danger.

- Object and Liquid Entry – Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.

- The power supply cord or plug has been damaged; or
- Objects have fallen into the appliance; or

CAUTION: READ THIS BEFORE OPERATING YOUR UNIT
- To ensure the finest performance, please read this manual carefully. Keep it in a safe place for future reference.
- Install your unit in a cool, dry, clean place – away from windows, heat sources, and too much vibration, dust, moisture or cold. Avoid sources of hum (transformers, electric motors). To prevent fire or electrical shock, do not expose to rain and water.
- Do not operate the unit upside-down.
- Never open the cabinet. If a foreign object drops into the set, contact your dealer.
- Place the unit in a location with adequate air circulation. Do not interfere with its proper ventilation; this will cause the internal temperature to rise and may result in a failure.
- Do not use force on switches, knobs or cords. When moving the unit, first turn the unit off. Then gently disconnect the power plug and the cords connecting to other equipment. Never pull the cord itself.
- Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents: this might damage the finish. Use a clean, dry cloth.
- Be sure to read the “Troubleshooting” section on common operating errors before concluding that your unit is faulty.
- This unit consumes a fair amount of power even when the power switch is turned off. We recommend that you unplug the power cord from the wall outlet if the unit is not going to be used for a long time. This will save electricity and help prevent fire hazards. To disconnect the cord, pull it out by grasping the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
- To prevent lightning damage, pull out the power cord and remove the antenna cable during an electrical storm.
- The general digital signals may interfere with other equipment such as tuners or receivers. Move the system farther away from such equipment if interference is observed.

Listening for a Lifetime
Selecting fine audio equipment such as the unit you’ve just purchased is only
the start of your musical enjoyment. Now it’s time to consider how you can
maximize the fun and excitement your equipment offers. VocoPro and the
Electronic Industries Association’s Consumer Electronics Group want you to get
the most out of your equipment by playing it at a safe level. One that lets
the sound come through loud and clear without annoying blaring or distortion
and, most importantly, without affecting your sensitive hearing.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “comfort level” adapts to a
higher volume of sound. So what sounds “normal” can actually be loud and
harmful to your hearing. Guard against this by setting your equipment at a
safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establish a safe level:
- Start your volume control at a low setting.
- Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, and without distortion.
Once you have established a comfortable sound level:
- Set the dial and leave it there.
- Pay attention to the different levels in various recordings.
Taking a minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in the future. After all, we want you listening for a lifetime. Used wisely, your new sound equipment will provide a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. Since hearing damage from loud noise is often undetectable until it is too late, this manufacturer and the Electronic Industries Association’s Consumer Electronics Group recommend you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise. This list of sound levels is included for your protection.
Some common decibel ranges:

Getting Connected
CONNECTING A MICROPHONE
The WirelessMix can support up to 4 wired microphone connections. The 4 connections can be from wired microphones or from wireless microphone receivers. The WirelessMix supports microphones connected with either the XLR or 1/4” cables.
If using microphones with an XLR cable –
Plug each of the microphones, up to 4, into Microphone Input #1-4.
- If using powered/condenser mics, the +48V Phantom switch must be in the ON position.
Note: Using the +48V Phantom switch with passive microphones will result in a clicking noise from the input channel.
If using microphones with a 1/4” cable –
Plug each of the microphones, up to 4, into Line Input #1-4.
- Using XLR and 1/4” jacks simultaneously will result in both input signals being mixed together on the same input channel. Adjusting the Input Gain or Input Volume will cause both signals to be raised or lowered together.
- It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to nominal to ensure all inputs are heard equally.
Notes: For best audio, adjust all input gains and volumes so that the LED Level Meter almost never illuminates the top RED LED.
USING THE CHANNEL INSERTS
The 1/4” insert jacks are used with an external effects processor. Each jack sends the respective unmodified Mic/Line input signal out to an effects processor and receives the modified signal back.
- The Insert jacks require a TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) 1/4” jack to be used properly.
- The Channel Volume Slider & Master Volume Slider will adjust the output level of the signal being sent out to the external effects processor. Once the desired audio effects are applied to the signal, it is then looped back into the WirelessMix.
- The effects knob will apply the ONBOARD mic effects to the already modified signal from the external effects processor.
CONNECTING AN INSTRUMENT
The WirelessMix supports up to 4 mono input signals via the Line Inputs #1-4. These inputs can be from an instrument or another piece of audio equipment that uses a mono TS (Tip-Sleeve) 1/4” jack.
- Plug in the mono TS (Tip-Sleeve) 1/4” jack into the Line Inputs #1-4.
- Using XLR and 1/4” jacks simultaneously will result in both input signals being mixed together on the same input channel. Adjusting the Input Gain or Input Volume will cause both signals being raised or lowered together.
- It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to nominal to ensure all inputs are heard equally.
Notes: For best audio, adjust all input gains and volumes so that the LED Level Meter almost never illuminates the top RED LED.
USING THE RCA INPUTS
The RCA Inputs are intended for audio sources such as CD/CD+G players, smartphones, tablets, or any other music source. They are line-level inputs.
- RCA Input #1 represents input channels 5 & 6:
- Left, white jack is Ch. 5
- Right, red jack is Ch. 6
Note: Ch. 5/6 PAN knob must be in middle position to get stereo audio.
- RCA Input #2 represents input channels 7 & 8:
- Left, white jack is Ch. 7
- Right, red jack is Ch. 8
Note: Ch. 7/8 PAN knob must be in middle position to get stereo audio.
Notes:
- It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to nominal to ensure all inputs are heard equally.
- For best audio, adjust all input gains and volumes so that the LED Level Meter almost never illuminates the top RED LED.
USING THE RCA OUTPUTS
The RCA Outputs are available to send the mixed signal out to either a recording device or other audio equipment. They each have a distinct volume output control. They are line-level.
- Record Output Volume Control is the associated channel volume slider(s).
- Pre-Out Output Volume Control is the associated channel volume & Master Volume Slider.
USING THE 1/4” LINE INPUTS
The 1/4” line inputs are intended for any audio sources that use a 1/4” mono jack. They are line-level inputs.
Refer to Descriptions & Details for information on function.
- If using a 1/4” Mono source:
- Line 5 & 7 will output the mono signal to both Left and Right channels.
- Line 6 & 8 will output the mono signals to the Right channel only.
- If using two 1/4” Mono Sources as a stereo source:
- Line 5 & 6 must be used together as a stereo source.
- Line 5/6 PAN must be set to middle position.
Note: Line 5 represents the LEFT channel. Line 6 represents the RIGHT channel.
OR
- Line 7 & 8 must be used together as a stereo source.
- Line 7/8 PAN must be set to the middle position.
Note: Line 7 represents the LEFT channel. Line 8 represents the RIGHT channel.
WARNING: If using RCA and Line Inputs simultaneously, channel volume slider will adjust BOTH audio signals.

USING THE SEND & RETURN JACKS
The 1/4” Send & Return jacks are intended for use with an external effects processor or other audio equipment. Both Send & Return jacks require a TS (Tip-Sleeve) 1/4” cable. Refer to Descriptions & Details for information on function.
- Send – This jack sends all 4 Mic/Line signals. The Mic/Line signals can be routed to a stage monitor to hear vocals only, sent to an external effects processor for additional Mic effects or any other audio equipment able to accept the signal.
- The Send knob located on the input channel controls the individual output volume.
- The Send knob located on the Effects Panel controls the overall output volume of all 4 Mic/Line signals.
Notes:
- If using Send jack with a stage monitor/speaker, the Return jack does not need to be used.
- If using Send jack with an external effects processor, the Return jack must also be used.
- If using the Main or Pre-Outs, the Master Volume slider will still control the overall volume being heard from the speakers.
USING THE SEND AND RETURN JACKS CONT.
- Return – This jack accepts the modified signal from the external effects processor.
- The Return knob located on the Effects Panel controls the overall input volume of the modified signals.
Descriptions & Details

Microphone Input Jacks #1-4 – These XLR input jacks accept audio from wired or wireless microphones.
-
Insert Jacks – These 1/4” jacks loop a signal to and from an external effects unit. They require a TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) cable to complete the loop circuit to send the unmodified signal and to receive the modified signal from the external effects unit.

Line Jacks – These 1/4” jacks are line-level inputs. They accept a mono signal from anything that outputs a line-level signal, such as an instrument, music player, or other audio equipment.
Note: These jacks can also accept an unbalanced 1/4” microphone signal, IF the associated Channel Gain is increased to audible levels. -
RCA Outputs:
- Record Output – These red/white jacks output both microphone and music signals to be recorded on an external device. The volume control is ONLY changed by the associated channel volume slider(s).
- Pre-Output – These red/white jacks output both mic and music signals to be used with external audio equipment. The volume control is changed by the associated input channel slider(s) & Master Volume Slider

RCA Input #1-2 – These jacks accept audio from music sources such as CD/CD+G players or other audio equipment.
- RCA Input #1 are input channels 5 & 6.
- RCA Input #2 are input channels 7 & 8.
Note: Refer to Getting Connected for details.

Line 5 Input – This jack accepts audio from either a stereo, TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), or a mono, TS (Tip- Sleeve), 1/4” cable.
Note: If a mono, TS (Tip-Sleeve), cable is plugged into Line 5, the mono signal will be routed through BOTH Left and Right speaker channels. -
Line 6 Input – This jack accepts audio from either a stereo, TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), or a mono, TS (Tip- Sleeve), 1/4” cable.
Note: If a mono, TS (tip-Sleeve), cable is plugged into Line 6, the mono signal will be heard ONLY from the Right speaker channel. -
Line 7 Input – This jack accepts audio from either a stereo, TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), or a mono, TS (Tip- Sleeve), 1/4” cable.
Note: If a mono, TS (Tip-Sleeve), cable is plugged into Line 7, the mono signal will be routed through BOTH Left and Right speaker channels. -
Line 8 Input – This jack accepts audio from either a stereo, TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), or a mono, TS (Tip- Sleeve), 1/4” cable.
Note: If mono, TS (Tip-Sleeve), cable is plugged into Line 8, the mono signal will be heard ONLY from the Right speaker channel. -
Send – This 1/4” jack outputs all Mic/Line audio via a TS (Tip-Sleeve) cable. The audio can be sent to an external mic effects processor or to additional audio equipment.

Return – This 1/4” jack accepts the modified signal from an external effects processor via a TS (Tip- Sleeve) cable.

Headphone Out – This 1/4” jack outputs the audio mix (mic and music) to a set of headphones.
-
Main Outputs – These jacks send the mixed output signal via XLR cables.
-
RCA Video Out – This jack outputs the video from the digital player module, DKP-3*, when installed in Stereo Expansion Slot 4.
Note: DKP-3 Digital Player Module is Sold Separately. -
Stereo Expansion Slot 1 & 2 Toggle – This switch toggles which audio from the Stereo Expansion Slots are to be used as the Line 5 signal.
- When clicked out, Stereo Expansion Slot 1 is selected.
- When clicked in, Stereo Expansion Slot 2 is selected.
NOTE: If modules are not installed in either slot, this button will have no effect.

Stereo Expansion Slot 3 & 4 Toggle – This switch toggles which audio from the Stereo Expansion slots are to be used as the Line 7 signal.
- When clicked out, Stereo Expansion Slot 3 is selected.
- When clicked in, Stereo Expansion Slot 4 is selected.
NOTE: If modules are not installed in either slot, this button will have no effect.

V/C #1 – This button toggles the Vocal Cancel feature off/on for Line 5 & 6 Inputs. When activated, the Right audio channel will be eliminated and the Left audio channel will be routed through Left and Right speaker channels.
NOTE: This feature will work with the RCA Input #1 or if a mono ¼” cable is plugged into both Line 5 and Line 6 Inputs. -
V/C #2 – This button toggles the Vocal Cancel feature off/on for Line 7 & 8 Inputs. When activated, the Right audio channel will be eliminated and the Left audio channel will be routed through Left and Right speaker channels.
Note: This feature will work with the RCA Input #2 or if a mono ¼” cable is plugged into both Line 7 and Line 8 Inputs. -
Gain Control – These knobs control the input signal volume. Adjust these knobs according to the input level of their respective channels.
Note:- When setting up, keep Gain control low enough to prevent clipping as indicated on the L/R LED Level Meter.
- If input signal from a microphone/instrument is too low to hear, turn the channel Gain up until the audio is audible.

L/R Pan – These knobs adjust the stereo proportions of the audio of their respective input channels.
- Turn knob clockwise to hear the respective channel audio from the Right speaker.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise to hear the respective channel audio from the Left speaker.

Tone Control Knobs – These knobs alter the tone of the respective channel input signal:
- High – This knob reduces or increases the amount of High frequencies present in the channel audio.
- Mid – This knob reduces or increases the amount of Mid frequencies present in the channel audio.
- Low – This knob reduces or increases the amount of Low frequencies present in the channel audio.

Channel Send Volume – These control the unaltered channel output volume present in the signal from the 1/4” SEND jack.

Effect Volume – These control the amount of Microphone Effects to be applied to the respective channels.
-
Channel Volume Slider – These sliders adjust the volume output of each of the respective microphone/ line input signals.
Note: When setting up, keep Volume level low enough to prevent clipping as indicated on the L/R LED Level Meter.
Note: Use GAIN control if input signal is too low to be heard before turning up Channel Volume Slider. -
Main Volume Slider – This slider adjusts the overall output volume from the Main Outputs. Turn this slider up/down to turn the volume from the speakers higher/lower.

Phones Volume – This knob adjusts the output volume of the ¼” Phones jack.
-
5/6 Pan – This knob adjusts the audio proportions of Channels 5 & 6.
- Turn knob clockwise to hear channel 6 audio only.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise to hear channel 5 audio only.
- Set to middle position to hear Channels 5 & 6 equally.
-
7/8 Pan – This knob adjusts the audio proportions of Channels 7 & 8.
- Turn knob clockwise to hear channel 8 audio only.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise to hear channel 7audio only.
- Set to middle position to hear Channels 7 & 8 equally.

Send Volume – This adjusts the overall volume of the unaltered signal from the ¼” Send jack.

Echo Volume – This adjusts the amount Echo effect to be applied to the Mic/Line Input Channels.
- Turn clockwise for a greater Echo effect.
- Turn counter-clockwise for less Echo effect.
-
Echo Repeat – This adjusts the number of times the echo repeats itself.
- Turn clockwise for a larger number of Echo repeats.
- Turn counter-clockwise for a fewer number of Echo repeats.
-
Echo Delay – This adjusts the amount of time between echo repeats.
- Turn knob clockwise for a longer time between repeats.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise for a shorter time between repeats.
-
Return Volume – This adjusts the overall volume of the altered signal from the ¼” Return jack.
-
Effect Master – This adjusts the overall amount of effects, both Echo & Reverb, to be applied to all of the Mic/Line Input Channels.
- Turn knob clockwise for a greater amount of mic effects.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise for a less amount of mic effects.
-
Hiss Filter – This adjusts the threshold frequency below which audio will be passed through.
- Turn knob clockwise for greater removal of audio frequencies; resulting in a “muddy”-like sound.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise for less removal of audio frequencies; resulting in an “airy”-like sound.

Reverb Volume – This controls the amount of Reverb effect.
- Turn knob clockwise for a greater Reverb effect.
- Turn knob counter-clockwise for less Reverb effect.

+48V Phantom – This applies Phantom power to the 4 XLR microphone jacks for use with powered/ condenser microphones.
Note: A buzzing noise will result if the combination of unpowered microphones and +48V Phantom are used. -
L/R LED Level Meter – This graphically displays the output level from the main outputs.
- For best audio, adjust all input gains and volumes such that the LED Level Meter almost never illuminates the top RED LED.

Main Power – This switch toggles power to the entire WirelessMix.

Module Power – This switch toggles power to the front Stereo Expansion Slots.
-
Microphone Module Power – This switch toggles power to the rear Microphone Expansion Slots.
-
Power In – This is where the power adapter is connected.
-
Ant 1 – This is where one of the two antennas is installed for wireless microphone reception.
-

Functions
USING THE MAIN OUTPUTS
These output the mixed audio signal via XLR jacks. Typically, these are connected to the input of an amplifier or powered speaker system. They are line-level.
- The volume of these jacks is adjusted by the Main Volume Slider.
- For best audio, adjust all input gains and volumes so that the LED Level Meter almost never illuminates the top RED LED.
Note: It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to ensure all inputs are heard equally.
USING THE RCA VIDEO OUTPUT
The RCA video output is used only with the optional digital player module, DKP-3. If the DKP-3 is not installed into Stereo Expansion Slot #4 then there will be no video signal present from the jack.
USING THE CHANNEL KNOBS
The control knobs under each Mic/Line Input Jack control the respective input signal. From tone control to designating what speaker audio comes from, everything needed to control the input signal is located here. Refer to Descriptions & Details for information on knob function.
- The Channel Volume Slider should be set to nominal in initial setup.
- Nominal setting is indicated by the white square on the slider markings.
- To designate what speaker the input channels are heard from, adjust the PAN knob for each channel.
- To alter how the input channel sounds, adjust the 3 EQ knobs: HIGH-MID-LOW.
- Control the amount of Mic Effects applied to the input channel with the Effect knob.
- To control the channel output volume present in the 1/4” Send jack, adjust the Send knob.
Notes:
- It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to nominal to ensure all inputs are heard equally.

USING THE VOCAL CANCEL
- The Vocal Cancel feature is intended to scrub the main vocal track from stereo input signals plugged into CH. 5/6 & Ch. 7/8. The Vocal Cancel feature will only work on stereo input signals plugged into the RCA Inputs or into the LEFT/RIGHT 1/4” jacks.
- When activated, the Vocal Cancel will route the LEFT channel audio out to both speaker channels while eliminating the RIGHT audio channel. See Descriptions & Details for information of function.
USING THE STEREO EXPANSION PORTS
The front four bays are intended for use with our optional Stereo Expansion (S.E.) Modules. There are 4 S.E. Modules available for purchase: BT-1, Air-Net 2, SDR-4, and DKP-3.

When S.E. Modules are installed in Ports 1 & 2, the S.E. Toggle 1 & 2 will determine which S.E. Module
will be:- Used as Line 5/6 signal.

USING THE MICROPHONE MODULE SLOTS
The back four bays are intended for use with our optional microphone module, UMH. There are a total of 24 frequencies available; the WirelessMix can support up to 4.
- When the UMH modules are installed, they represent mic channels 1-4.
- If wired mics are plugged in simultaneously, the microphone module and wired mic signals will be mixed together.
Notes: It is recommended to adjust the input gain either up or down until you get an audible signal. Be sure the Channel Volume Sliders are set to nominal to ensure all inputs are heard equally.

- Power LED – Indicated whether the module is on or off. If LED is lit, module is on.
- RF LED – Lights when RF signals are received from the microphone channels.
- AF LED – Lights when AF signals are received from the microphone channels.
- Squelch Control – Individually manages each microphone’s signal strength for best performance. Turn Clockwise to increase Squelch and turn Counter-Clockwise to decrease.
- Volume Controls – Individually adjusts volume of module being used.
TROUBLESHOOTING FAQS
What is the Nominal volume setting mentioned in the manual? Why is it important?
- The Nominal setting is the level at which audio equipment is designed to operate. It is indicated by the white box on the Channel and Master Volume Sliders.
- When connecting a piece of equipment to the WirelessMix for the first time, the nominal setting will ensure the audio will be audible and will facilitate mixing of multiple audio sources.
Why am I not getting music volume?
- Ensure the music sources are plugged securely into their jacks; the RCA Inputs or 1/4” Mono Jacks.
- Adjust the CH. 5/6 or CH. 7/8 PAN to middle position to get stereo audio.
- Ensure the respective Channel Volume and Master Volume Sliders are turned up to audible levels.
- If using a stereo (TRS) or mono (TS) signal in CH. 5 or CH.7, the associated CH. PAN must be set turned counterclockwise to hear the audio.
- Using a mono (TS) signal in either CH. 6 or CH. 8 with the associated V/C toggle on, there will be no audio heard from the mono input.
Why can’t I hear the microphone audio?
- If using an external sound processor –
- Make sure the settings on the external sound processor are adjusted appropriately. If the output volume is turned down on the processor, then the WirelessMix will have a low microphone input volume.
- Double-check check that the Send and Return volumes are turned up.
- Ensure proper signal path between Send/Return jacks and the external s ound processor.
- If using the Send/Return jacks, ensure Channel Input Slider is turned down.
- If using XLR Mics –
- Ensure the appropriate channel volume slider AND gain knob are turned up to audible levels.
- Ensure microphones are switched on.
- Swap microphone cables.
- If using 1/4” Mics –
- Ensure the appropriate channel volume slider AND Gain knob are turned up to audible levels.
- Double-check that the 1/4” mic cable is plugged into the LINE input jacks, not the INSERT input jacks.
- Double-check that the 1/4” mic cable is a TS, not a TRS.
- Ensure microphones are switched on.
- Swap microphone cables.
- If using the wireless mic modules –
- Ensure the volume knob on each of the installed microphone modules are turned up; it would be the VOL knob on the face of the module.
- Be aware that whichever wired mics that are plugged into either XLR or LINE inputs will be mixed along with any wireless mic modules that might be installed.
What is the difference between the 1/4” Insert jacks and the 1/4” Send/Return jacks?
- The Insert and Send/Return jacks are very similar, meant to be used with external sound equipment.
- Insert Jacks – They handle the individual channel signal via a 1/4” TRS cable connected to an external sound processor. There is normally only 1 audio signal present.
- Send/Return Jacks – They handle all of the channel signals via two 1/4” TS cables, each connected to the external sound processor. There will be as many signals present as there are mics plugged into the WirelessMix.
Why is there a popping noise present in the microphone audio?
- The +48V Phantom power is turned on and the microphone being used is not a powered mic.
- Ensure only powered/condenser microphones are used with the +48V Phantom. Why is there no video output form the RCA output jack?
- The RCA output jack will have video present only if the optional DKP-3 karaoke player is installed in Stereo Expansion Port #4.
How do I assign which Stereo Expansion Module audio will be heard?
- The Stereo Expansion Toggle 1 & 2 and Stereo Expansion Toggle 3 & 4 are used to assign which S.E. Module audio will be heard. Refer to Descriptions & Details for information on function.
Why doesn’t the Vocal Cancel work?

The V/C feature will only work on stereo input signals; using the RCA, CH. 5/6 or CH. 7/8 inputs.

Even when using a stereo input, the efficacy of the V/C feature will be dependent on the source music. If the source music has vocals recorded in both the LEFT and RIGHT channel, the vocals will still be present when the V/C feature is activated.

The V/C will work best with multiplexed audio.
Multiplex audio is formatted as such that the Music audio is present in only the LEFT channel and the Vocal audio present in only the RIGHT channel. -
