Product Usage Instructions

Barcode Capture:

  1. Connect a compatible barcode scanner (OPTICON OPN-2006, PX-20) to the camera via Bluetooth.
  2. Read a barcode with the scanner (up to 56 characters).
  3. Take a picture to write the barcode data to the Exit of the image.

Setting Items ([Barcode Capture]):

  • Barcode Scanner: Connect or disconnect from the scanner.
  • Capture Barcode Data: Set to OFF to prevent writing out barcode data during recording.
  • Display Barcode Data: Set to OFF to hide barcode data on the camera screen.

Photo Grid Line:

  1. Select from different grid line options like Portrait Crop, Sports Crop, and Group Crop under Photo Grid Line settings.

Barcode Capture

The barcode data that is captured by the barcode scanner can be written out to the Exif of the picture.

Connecting the Barcode Scanner
Compatible models: OPTICON OPN-2006, PX-20

  1. Set the barcode scanner to be ready for Bluetooth connection.
    Operate the barcode scanner according to its operating instructions.

  2. Set the camera to be ready for Bluetooth connection.

Writing Out the Barcode Data to the Picture

  1. Read the barcode with the barcode scanner (up to 56 characters)
  2. The barcode data is displayed on the camera’s screen. (13 characters can be displayed. When there are 14 or more characters, the display shows the first 6 characters and the last 6 characters.)
  3. The barcode data is overwritten when another barcode is read.Panasonic-DC-S5M2-Digital-Camera-fig- \(5\)
  4. Take a picture.
  5. The barcode data displayed on the screen of the camera is written out to the Exif of the picture. (Up to 56 characters)
  6. The barcode data that was written out can be viewed in the playback screen.

Setting Items (Barcode Capture)

  • [Barcode Scanner]
    Connect with or disconnect from the barcode scanner.

  • [Capture Barcode Data]
    Set to [OFF] when the barcode data is not to be written out during recording.

  • [Display Barcode Data]
    Set to [OFF] when the barcode data is not to be displayed on the screen of the camera.

Disconnecting from the Barcode Scanner

Barcode Capture  [Barcode Scanner]  Select [OFF] The barcode data read while connected is deleted. (Barcode data recorded with pictures is not deleted.)

  • [Barcode Scanner] can be assigned to an Fn button.
  • When the following functions are being used, Barcode Capture is not available:
    • Bluetooth connection with another device
    • Wi-Fi connection (Barcode Capture remains available while the [Frame.io] Wi-Fi function is being used)
  • The following functions are not available while you are using Barcode Capture:
    • Bluetooth connection with another device
    • Wi-Fi connection (the [Frame.io] Wi-Fi function remains available)

Photo Grid Line

Grid lines that can be set with Photo Grid Line have been added.Panasonic-

  • When using [ ], you can press to change the positions of the grid lines.
  • When set to [ ], the size of the circle can be changed with the rear dial.
  • When [DISP.] is pressed while changing the grid lines, the settings return to the default settings.
  • When using the following functions, [ ] are not available:
    • [ ] mode
    • [S&Q] mode
    • [16:9]/[1:1]/[65:24]/[2:1] ([Aspect Ratio])
