Product Usage Instructions
- Preventative Maintenance
- Inspect the product regularly and replace it immediately if any damage is found or suspected.

- Electrical Safety
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Disconnect power before installing or servicing. Installation and servicing must be done by a qualified service person according to applicable codes.
- Explosion or Fire Hazard: Do not use with flammable liquids or in hazardous locations. Follow National Electric Code guidelines.
- Mounting the Switch
- Warning: Do not install the switch in the direct line of incoming liquid.
- Place the cord into the clamp as shown in Figure A.
- Locate the clamp at the desired activation level and secure it to the discharge pipe as shown in Figures B and C.
- Tighten the hose clamp using a screwdriver. Ensure the float cable does not touch the excess hose clamp band during operation.
- Wire the switch as shown in Figure D.
- Check installation and allow the system to cycle to ensure proper operation.
- Cable Weight Adjustment
- Determine the desired activation level.
- Suspend the switch and cable weight at the desired activation level.
- Wire the switch as shown in Figure D.
- Check installation and allow the system to cycle for proper operation.
- To adjust cable weight tether length:
- Release clip.
- Adjust cable weight to the desired position.
- Lay the switch cable in the weight channel.
- Align clip with weight channel and slide towards switch cable.
- Snap the clip snugly up to the cable, moving the clip to the tightest possible position.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
- Periodically inspect the product. Check that the cable has not become worn or that the housing has not been damaged to impair the protection of the product. Replace the product immediately if any damage is found or suspected.
- Periodically check to see that the float is free to move and operate the switch.
- Use only SJE Rhombus® replacement parts.
- The Sensor Float® control switch contains mercury and MUST be recycled or disposed of according to local, state, and federal codes.

- National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
- Failure to follow these precautions could result in serious injury or death.
- Replace the product immediately if the switch cable becomes damaged or severed.
- Keep these instructions with warranty after installation.
- This product must be installed by the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 to prevent moisture from entering or accumulating within boxes, conduit bodies, fittings, float housing, or cable.
MOUNTING INSTRUCTION
MOUNTING THE SWITCH
WARNING: Do not install the switch in the direct line of incoming liquid.
- Place the cord into the clamp as shown in Figure A.
- Locate the clamp at the desired activation level and secure the clamp to the discharge pipe as shown in Figures B and C.
- Note: Do not install a cord under the hose clamp.
- Tighten the hose clamp using a screwdriver. Over-tightening may result in damage to the plastic clamp. Make sure the float cable is not allowed to touch the excess hose clamp band during operation.
- Wire switch as shown in Figure D.
- Check installation. Allow the system to cycle to ensure proper operation.
- Note: All hose clamp components are made of 18-8 stainless steel material. See your SJE Rhombus® supplier for replacements.
CABLE WEIGHT
- Determine the desired activation level.
- Suspend switch and cable weight at the desired activation level as shown in Figure E.
- Wire switch as shown in Figure D.
- Check installation. Allow the system to cycle to ensure proper operation.
To adjust cable weight tether length:
- Release clip.
- Adjust cable weight to the desired position.
- Lay the switch cable in the weight channel.
- Align the clip with the weight channel and slide it towards the switch cable as shown in Figure E.
- Snap the clip snugly up to the cable, moving the clip to the tightest possible position.
INTERNAL WEIGHT SENSOR FLOAT® ONLY
- Determine the desired activation level as shown in Figure B.
- Suspend switch 18 cm below desired activation level as shown in Figure F. Switch remains partially submerged during the “on” tipping action. Switch can be submerged and continue to operate properly.
- Wire switch as shown in Figure D.
- Check installation. Allow the system to cycle to ensure proper operation.
