A steel brake line may be permanently attached to the brake hose on some vehicles (figure 1). This replacement hose is designed without the permanent steel line. You must obtain the correct length of steel brake line and make the appropriate bends (figure 2).
- If the steel brake line being used is already equipped with flared fittings, the fitting provided with this hose can be discarded (figure 3).
- If fabricating the steel line with bulk tubing and a double flare tool, the fitting for the end that will connect to the hose is included with the hose (figure 3).
- The end of the hard line attaching to the vehicle’s system must match the style already on the vehicle (inverted double flare or ISO flare).
