This tool enables the user to check transmission fluid level.
STEP 1: Verify that the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
STEP 2: Remove dipstick tube cap.
STEP 3: Engage parking brake. Start engine and let it idle with gear
selector in the park position.
STEP 4: Shift the transmission lever through the gears several times with
the vehicle stationary and engine idling.
STEP 5: Bring the vehicle up to operating temperature and check fluid
level with engine idling. Push dipstick into transmission fill tube until it
bottoms out against the transmission pan and pull out, read fluid level. NOTE:
The dipstick will protrude from fill tube when installed.
STEP 6: Check transmission fluid temperature using a scan tool. NOTE:
Accurate transmission fluid temperature can only be obtained by using a scan
tool with the transmission lever in reverse or any forward gear position.
STEP 7: The transmission dipstick has level indicator lines every 10mm.
Check fluid level on dipstick; determine proper fluid level using the correct
fluid level chart for your vehicle.
STEP 8: Adjust fluid level as necessary and recheck level.
STEP 9: Install dipstick tube cap after checking fluid level.
