LINDINVENT ISQ-M Active Supply Air Diffuser
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PRESENTATION OF DELIVERY UNIT ISQ-200
ISQ-200, like ISQ-160 and ISQ-M, is delivered on a pallet. The devices are
ready for installation in suspended ceilings directly from the pallet.
ISQ-200 from pallet
Cover profiles
Two metal profiles are to be placed in the suspended ceiling framework along both sides of the diffuser where there are gaps between the edge of the diffuser frame and the suspended ceiling.
L-profile
Metal profile that is only used when unevenness in the suspended ceiling means
that the diffuser frame needs to be pressed down against the suspended ceiling
beam structure to create a connection without visible gaps.
NOTE BEFORE ASSEMBLY
- The unit is ready to assemble directly from the pallet and consists of both a plenum box and a diffuser part.
- A correct and simple assembly requires that space has been left for duct connection via a flexible aluminum hose or push nipple.
- Duct connection must not load the diffuser and thus the supporting structure.
- Do not remove the handles and the protective cardboard with attached profiles!
- The protective cardboard is removed after the final cleaning.
INSTALLATION ORDER
The installation must be carried out in the following order from 1 to 6:
PLACEMENT
A clear height of 380 or 300 mm is required depending on the model.
- Lift up and angle the device to get in over the suspended ceiling support structure.
- The device is then backed so that it comes down into the framework.
- Centering the device is done in step 3, installation of cover strips.
DISMANTLING OF HANDLES
- Cut the packing bands.
- For each handle: Push the device slightly to the side, angle and unhook.
- The protective cover over the diffuser plate is left on. It is to be removed after final cleaning.
COVER PROFILES
Both included V-shaped cover profiles must be placed in the suspended ceiling
support structure to eliminate the gaps that otherwise remain between the beam
in the support structure and the diffuser frame.
The profiles are mounted from below.
-
Angle up the long side on one side of the diffuser slightly from the suspended ceiling support structure and place the profile oriented as illustration 1 shows. Lower the unit back onto the support structure. Then angle up the opposite side and place the second profile in the corresponding way.
Note: Each profile has two flanges. The one with circular holes should point up from the suspended ceiling structure. -
Center the diffuser over the opening in the support structure. The cover profiles must be positioned so that the flange (without holes), which rests on the support structure, just touches/meets the edge of the diffuser frame, see pictures 2 and 3.
-
The gaps along the device’s long sides (seen from the floor) shall now have been eliminated.
NOTICE: When the cover profiles are in place, the side with holes must point upwards from the suspended ceiling support structure.
SUSPENSION
BEFORE connecting the duct: The diffuser must be suspended via mounting straps or equivalent with the length that relieves the load-bearing structure without creating gaps between the diffuser and the suspended ceiling.
Note: Suspension material is not included with the diffuser upon delivery.
DUCT CONNECTION
- Connection via a flexible aluminum hose is recommended.
- A push nipple can work if the channel is in line with and centered to the inlet.
The duct connection must not strain the diffuser and thus the suspended ceiling.
Aluminium hose versus duct
- The risk of straining the diffuser and thus the supporting structure is removed when connecting with a flexible hose.
- From an acoustic point of view, they are equally good. Sound generation from the diffuser is very low.
- Using an aluminum hose gives flexibility when the diffuser needs to be dismantled or temporarily lifted up from the suspended ceiling.
L-PROFILE & FINAL CHECK
- L-PROFILE: Used only when there is a need to hold down the diffuser frame to achieve a flat connection between the diffuser and the suspended ceiling support structure. The L-profile can be adjusted manually in height to achieve the necessary holding pressure.
- CORRECT INSTALLATION: All steps are carried out in sequence according to this instruction. The diffuser must be correctly positioned without visible gaps and properly relieved so that the supporting structure has not been affected.
