Product Usage Instructions

Attaching the Foot

  1. Remove the foot holder and attach the free motion quilting foot. Ensure the needle enters the hole in the foot.

Changing the Sole

  1. Raise the foot and turn the round nut (A) to bring the sole to the lowest position.
  2. Remove the setscrew (B) and replace the sole with the desired one.
  3. Secure the new sole with the setscrew.

Adjusting the Height of the Foot

  1. Lower the foot by turning the handwheel to bring the presser bar to the lowest position.
  2. Adjust the height of the foot by turning the round nut (A) until it barely touches the quilt layers.

Machine Settings

  • Stitch: Straight stitch (left needle position)
  • Thread Tension: Auto
  • Feed Dog: Lowered

Sew at a medium speed, guiding the quilt layers with your hands. Move the layers 3mm or less per stitch.

Sewing with Zigzag Stitches

  1. Set the stitch width to 7 or less.
  2. Use a purple tip needle to prevent slip stitches.

Cautions

  1. Do not move or pull quilt layers towards you when using the open sole foot to avoid needle warping.
  2. Use a straight stitch needle plate for sewing straight stitches.
  3. Increase thread tension to 4-6 when sewing straight stitches with the center needle in the center position.

FAQ

  • Q : Can I use all soles for zigzag stitches?
  • A: The clear view sole (M) can be used for zigzag stitches and straight stitches with a center needle position. All other soles are only for straight stitches in the left needle position.

For a more pleasurable free-motion quilting experience, this set includes 3 left needle position feet and 1 zigzag stitch foot (center needle position). This set includes four feet;

  1. Closed foot
  2. Open foot
  3. Clear view foot (L)
  4. Clear view foot (M)

Attaching the foot
Remove the foot holder and attach the free motion quilting foot. Make sure that the needle enters the hole in the foot.

Change the sole

Raise the foot and turn the round nut (A) to bring the sole to the lowest position. Remove the setscrew (B) and remove the sole. Attach the desired sole and secure it with the setscrew.

NOTE:
The clear view sole (M) can be used for zigzag stitches and straight stitch with center needle position. All other soles must be used only for straight stitch with left needle position.
Adjusting the height of the foot
Lower the foot (turn the hand-wheel to bring the presser bar to the lowest position on the embroidery machine). Adjust the height of the foot by turning the round nut (A) until the bottom of the foot barely touches top of quilt layers. Machine settings

  • Stitch : Straight stitch (left needle position) Thread tension : Auto
  • Feed dog : Lowered
  • Sewing: Sew at medium speed while guiding the quilt layers with your hands. Move the quilt layers 3 mm or less per stitch.

CAUTION

Do not move or pull the quilt layers toward you when sewing with the open sole foot, otherwise, the needle can warp and may hit the needle plate to break.

NOTE

Use the straight stitch needle plate when sewing with straight stitches. Increase the thread tension to 4-6 when sewing straight stitch with the center needle in the center position. Sewing with zizgzag stitches Set the stitch width at 7 or less.
