INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION AND USE

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW MORSØ GRILL 71 TABLETOP BBQ,
Morsø Grill ’71 Table is a brand-new variation of the iconic Grill ’71 by Morsø, which has been a permanent part of the Danish summer for generations. The introduction of this new model enables everyone to gather around the table to share the joyous atmosphere of barbecuing – from the word go. This barbecue works equally well on charcoal, briquettes, or ordinary wood. Being a beautiful fire bowl, it will also provide a charming atmosphere, during and after the meal. As its predecessor, Grill ’71 Table boasts all the classic properties of cast iron, and it is available with a removable slop grid. Morsø Grill ’71 Table must be placed on a non-flammable surface. The special finish of cast iron has innumerable small pits, which can retain fat and flavors from the meat. This achieves just the right effect of the meat frying in its fat. On the other hand, smooth stainless steel has the disadvantage that the fat slides off, so the steak isn’t fried, but toasted.
Morsø’s cast iron grill is enameled and is therefore very strong and easy to clean. The enameling is done in such a way that the ability of the cast iron to retain fat and flavors is not impaired, and the grate is therefore ideal for grilling. The grill grate swings aside and can be placed at four different heights.

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Make sure that the heat shield is correctly positioned in the lower part under the pot.
  • Before lighting, it is important to ensure that the grill is standing stably.
  • Never leave the grill before all flames and embers are extinguished.
  • Using water to extinguish the fire can result in the cast iron components cracking or warping.
  • The outside of the grill becomes very hot while lit. Therefore, be sure to take the necessary care especially if children and pets are close to the grill.
  • Do not use combustible liquids to light or maintain the fire.
  • Be aware of very high temperatures when the grill is in use. Use gloves.

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Adjusting the grate is done using the allen screws (A) with the enclosed allen key.

  • Double heat shield

Positioning the grill

  • Morsø Grill ’71 Table must be placed on a non-flammable surface.
  • The grill should only be used outdoors and must not be placed below low-hanging branches and buildings.
  • The grill needs to be placed on a solid, noncombustible, and horizontal surface.

Removing ash and embers

  • Use a metal shovel to remove ash or embers.
  • Use a metal bucket with a tight-fitting metal lid to store ash and embers. Always place the bucket on a non-flammable surface, well clear of flammable materials.
  • When the ash is cold, it can be used as fertilizer in your garden or disposed of with ordinary refuse.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

  1. The Morsø Grill ‘71 Table is made of enameled cast iron and can advantageously be treated with cooking oil at regular intervals. Because of the porous surface of the cast iron, the oil will seep in and help with rust protection.
  2. Cast iron parts can be washed with a mild solution of soft soap when the grill is cold. Preferably use demineralized water, as ordinary tap water can leave limescale.
  3. Minor small blisters may occur in the enamel due to rain and frost. These will lead to rust, but this does not significantly affect durability.

We recommend storing the grill under a roof in an unheated room for the winter – for example, in a garage or basement room.

IMPORTANT

  • Make sure to clean your product before its first use, and make sure that there is no packaging material left on the product.
  • Make sure to Heat the product at max temp for at least 15 minutes before using the product for the first time. If your product has a lid it needs to be preheated with a closed lid.
  • If there is a breach in the enamel coating or enamel flakes have fallen off the Grill grate (or cooking area), then the grill grate needs to be replaced.

NOTIFICATION OF DEFECTS
The warranty period runs from the date of purchase and covers defects and omissions. The duration according to the National Sale of Goods Act applies.

The warranty does not cover

  • Consumable items, i.e. parts that deteriorate during normal use. For these parts, the relevant provisions of the Sale of Goods Act for deficiencies apply.
