User’s Manual for
Depository Safe
Read all instructions before using this safe.

WARNING

  • For security purposes, change the factory default Master Code as soon as possible.
    Factory default Master Code is: 12345678

  • The Master Code should always be held by the owner of the safe or authorized people. If the Master Code is forgotten, the user is unable to change new Master Code, Activate/ Delete Users, set up Single/Dual Entry Modes, and set up Time Delay Mode.

  • Test registered pin codes a few times before closing the door.

  • Test and store emergency keys in a secure place; NOT inside of the safe.

  • Be careful when opening and closing the depository slot.

  • Keep children away from safe; they should not play with or around the safe at any time.

  • Always make sure the safe is locked before walking away. Avoid leaving the safe door open and unattended; it will allow unauthorized individuals to reprogram the safe, gaining full access to the safe and its contents.

  • Test and make sure the safe works properly before mounting. Once tested, mount the safe before use.
    NOTE: Barska is not responsible for any installation damages and any lost or stolen contents.

F. Sealed Envelope (Include Reset to factory default instruction and initialization button)
NOTE: For security purposes, reset to factory default instruction and initialization button are in the Sealed Envelope. Please keep it with the owner or authorized manager in a secured place, NOT inside of the safe.

BATTERY & KEY ACCESS

Install Battery

  1. The battery cover is located on the bottom edge of the keypad. Remove the cover by pulling on the tab.

  2. Carefully insert one new 9V alkaline battery into the battery compartment.
    Do NOT force the battery into the compartment.

  3. Reinstall the battery cover.
    NOTE: Do NOT pull the battery connector to avoid pulling wires out of housing.

Key Access
The key access is concealed yet and easy to access in case of an emergency or forgotten PIN code.
*NOTE: Before you start to use the safe, test the emergency keys and store them in a secure place, NOT inside of the safe

  1. Use a Phillip’s Head screw driver to remove the screw on the top of keypad cover
  2. Carefully remove the keypad cover from the housing. Let the keypad cover hang with the wires still attached
  3. Locate the key access inside of the housing. Insert the key into key slot and turn clockwise to open safe.
  4. After opening the safe, reinstall the keypad cover and screw down the cover with the housing.

CHANGING THE MASTER CODE (Code length: 3-8 digits)

NOTE: Always perform this operation with the door opened. Test new code a couple of times before closing the door. Safe retains 1 master code
Step 1: Press “ “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “8 8 8 #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “Current Master Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light (For 1st time to use, Current Master Code is Factory default code 12345678)
Step 4: Input “New Master Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow/Red lights
Step 5: Re-Input “New Master Code #” → 2 short beeps with Green light on for 3 seconds
Example: ** 888 # Current Master Code # New Master Code # New Master Code #
If the master code did not save successfully, the lock will beep 5 times with Red light.
The old code is still valid. Please repeat steps 1-5.

REGISTER USER CODES (Code length: 3-8 digits)

Safe retains 5 user codes
Step 1: Press “ “→ 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “3 3 3 #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “Current Master Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Input “User No. #” →1 short beep with Yellow/Red lights (User No.: Specify which user you would like to register 1,2,3,4 or 5)
Step 5: Input “New User Code #” →2 short beeps with Yellow/Red lights
Step 6: Re-Input “New User Code #” → 2 short beeps with Green light on for 3 seconds. User code Registration is completed.

CHANGE USER CODES

Step 1: Press “ “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “4 4 4 #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “Current User Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Input “User No. #” →1 short beep with Yellow/Red lights
(User No.: Enter the User No. that identifies the Current User Code on Step 3)
Step 5: Input “New User Code #” →2 short beeps with Yellow/Red light
Step 6: Re-Input “New User Code #” → 2 short beeps with Green light User code change is completed.

DELETE USER CODES

Step 1: Press “ “→ 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “666 #“ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “Current Master Code# “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Input “User No.#” → 1 short beep with Yellow/Red lights
Step 5: Re-Input “User No.#” → 2 short beeps with Green light User code delete is completed.
Note: If the user code did not delete successfully, the lock will beep 5 times. Please repeat steps.

SETTING SINGLE USER & DUAL USER MODES

Single User Mode
This mode will require enter Only ONE valid user code to open the safe
Step 1: Press “ “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “158 # “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “ Current Master Code# ” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Press “ 1# “ → 2 short beeps with Green light
This Operation will set the safe to Single User Mode, please test after set up. If the Single User Mode did not set successfully, the lock will beep 5 times. Please repeat steps.

Dual User Mode
This mode will require enter any TWO valid user codes to open the safe.
Note: Master code does not require another code to open safe under Dual User mode.
Step 1: Press “ “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “158#“ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “ Current Master Code# ” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Press “ 2# “→ 2 short beeps with Green light.
This Operation will set the safe to Dual user mode and require to put 2 user codes to open the safe, please test after set up. If the Dual User Mode did not set successfully, the lock will beep 5 times. Please repeat steps.

OPENING AND LOCKING SAFE WITH USER CODE/ MASTER CODE

Open
Single User Mode (Default Setting)
Step 1: Press “User Code or Master Code #” → Green light on for 5 seconds
Step 2: Turn the handle clockwise before the green light turns off
Dual User Mode (Please refer to Setting Single User & Dual User Mode)
Step 1: Press “1st Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “2nd Code #” → Green light on for 5 seconds
Step 3: Turn the handle clockwise before the green light turns off
NOTE: Master code does not require another code to open safe under Dual User mode.
Lock
Close the safe door and turn the handle to the locked position

WHAT‘S TIME DELAY FEATURE

The time delay lock is a timer designed to prevent the opening of the safe until it reaches the pre-set time, even if the correct combinations are known. The feature was originally created to prevent criminals from using a person or employee who knows the valid combination in order to gain access to the safe.

SETTING TIME DELAY (1-59 minutes time delay)

Step 1: Press “ “ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 2: Press “159#“ → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 3: Input “ Current Master Code #” → 2 short beeps with Yellow light
Step 4: Input ”Desired Delay Time (01-59) #” → 2 short beeps with Green light
01 = 1-minute Time Delay
59 = 59 minutes Time Delay
00 = turn off Time Delay Mode

If the Time Delay feature did not set successfully, the lock will beep 5 times with Red light. Please repeat the steps

NOTE

  1. During Time Delay period, Master code and user code will not be accepted. When you press any key, the keypad will be no response.
  2. Do NOT remove battery during time delay period. Within the last 30 seconds of time delay period, the lock starts “Beep” continuously with Green light flashing.
  3. Once the continuous beeps stop, the safe will be unlocked for 5 seconds.

LOCK OUT MODE

If the wrong codes are entered 4 times consecutively, the keypad will not accept any code for 5 minutes. Lock starts beep with Yellow light continuously during the lockout mode.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

If you encounter one of the situations below, please change your battery.

  • When you input your code, a green light & red light will turn on for around 5 seconds. You will also hear 10 beeps. The safe will probably not unlock when you get this response.
  • When you input your code, a green light will turn on for around 1 second. The safe will not open when you get this response.
  • If your keypad has no response (no beeps; no light) After the battery is changed, all registered pin codes will remain saved

TROUBLE SHOOTING

The lock has no response (no beeps)
– Make sure the battery wire in the keypad housing are not pinched and are connected.
– Make sure you are NOT in Time Delay Mode.
– Replace the existing battery with new one.
The lock has continuous beeps
– Make sure the battery wire in the keypad housing are not pinched and are connected.
– Make sure you are NOT in Time Delay Mode.
– The safe may be in lock out mode, please do NOT UNPLUG the battery and wait for beep sound stop.
The lock is responding but cannot unlock
– Battery may be under voltage, replace new battery. Please refer to “LOW BATTERY WARNING”
– Please check the safe is Dual User or Single User Open Mode. The safe is in Dual User Mode, require 2 correct pin codes to open the safe. INCOMPLETED user code entry, the light stays on Yellow. Please enter 2 completed user codes.
– The safe is in Time Delay Mode, the light stays on Yellow and Beep continuously for 30 seconds. Waiting for set delay time finish, the Green light flashing and safe being unclocked for 5 seconds.
– Red light with 5 beeps this indicates wrong user code entry, please enter correct user code.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

– Keep liquids away from the control panel. Spills on the control panel will cause damage and possibly electric shock.
– Secure safe in a proper area to prevent from falling and causing damage or injury.
– DO NOT disassemble the product. For all repairs, contact BARSKA Customer Service.
– DO NOT use chemicals or cleaning agents to clean the safe.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

The safe may be mounted down to the floor. Be aware of the load bearing. Failure to do so can result in personal injury and/or damage to property. Use appropriate tools when performing work and always use eye protection.
Floor Mounting
– Use proper drill tools depending on the type of floor you are mounting the safe (wood, tile, or concrete).
– Measure the location of the pre-set drill holes; mark their exact position onto the floor.
– Drill the appropriate size holes for the anchors you are using.
– Carefully press the anchor into the holes at this time.
– Mount the safe by running screws from inside of the safe and securing to anchors; ensure the safe is mounted securely

1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

SAFE/LOCK BOX
BARSKA warrants this new safe/lock box to be free of defects in material and/ or workmanship under normal use for a period of twelve (12) months from the date product is purchased. This limited warranty is delimited to repair or replacement only.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation or maintenance.
BARSKA disclaims all liability for incidental or consequential damages resulting from misuse, abuse, accident (such as dropping), fire, flood, service or repairs other than those performed by BARSKA, acts of nature, or arising out of any breach of this warranty. Altering the product under any circumstances will automatically void the warranty.
For service under this limited warranty, please have available the proof of purchase and the purchase date and location as well as a detailed description of the problem.
This warranty is not transferable and only applies to the original purchaser with a proof of purchase from BARSKA or from an authorized dealer. This warranty applies only to products purchased within the United States, excluding Alaska, the Hawaiian Islands
and all U.S. territories in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
BARSKA will examine and go through troubleshooting procedures, product repair or replacement of defective part(s) or units with new part(s) or provide a new unit, if necessary, during the warranty period. Reasonable shipping/handling charges may apply and are based on Barska sole discretion. Purchaser shall be required to prepay Shipping/handling charges with a check or money order to BARSKA at time product is returned. The Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#) and shipping/ handling charge MUST be obtained from BARSKA in advance of return. BARSKA reserves the right to modify or discontinue, without prior notice to the purchaser, any model or style of the product. BARSKA will determine, at its sole discretion, whether a product will be repaired or replaced. BARSKA reserves the right to discontinue or change any feature of its products at any time. If an exact replacement or product is not available, BARSKA reserves the right to provide a part or product that matches as closely as possible.
LIMITATION OF REMEDIES
BARSKA disclaims any warranties, express or implied, whether of merchantability or fitness for a particular use, except as expressly set forth herein. The sole obligation of BARSKA under this limited warranty shall be to repair or replace the covered product,
in accordance with the terms set forth herein. BARSKA expressly disclaims any lost profits, general, special, indirect or consequential damages which may result from breach of any warranty, or arising out of the use or inability to use any BARSKA product. Any warranties which are implied and which cannot be disclaimed shall be limited in duration to a term of one year from the date of original retail purchase.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you.
