Thank you for purchasing the Zippo® Butane Torch (“Product”). READ ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS before using your Product for the first time. Improper use of this Product may result in Product damage, for which damages you (“Purchaser”) and not Zippo Manufacturing Company (“Zippo”) are responsible.
If you have problems with your Product, DO NOT RETURN TO RETAIL STORE. Instead, consumers should visit Zippo.com for a list of distributors in their area who can assist them.

WARNING: KEEP LIGHTERS AND THEIR FUELS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Ignite away from face and clothing. Do not use to light cigarettes, cigars or pipes. Be sure flame is out after use. Never expose to heat above 50°C (122°F) or to prolonged sunlight. Never puncture or put in fire. Extreme heat is present above the visible flame. Extra care should be taken to prevent burn, injury or fire. Follow all instructions and warnings provided by manufacturer of appliance or any other item when using this product. Do not use near sparks or open flame. Do not store in direct sunlight. Do not refuel over containers such as sinks or near a flame. Butane tends to settle and collect in the lowest point. When filled, will contain flammable gas. Do not keep lit for more than 2 minutes. Wait 2 minutes after refilling before using the torch. Need to be in open place when refilling (well ventilated).

FILLING THE PRODUCT
- Use only high quality fuel like Ronson or Zippo Butane Fuel to fill and refill. Use of other low quality fuels may result in damage to the filling valve and could cause clogging.
- Before filling, ensure that Product is extinguished.
- Allow sufficient time for the Product to cool to room temperature before refilling.
- Do not refuel over containers such as sinks or near a flame. Butane tends to settle and collect in the lowest point.
- Hold the product with the Butane Refill Valve up.
- For safe filling: ensure proper mating between fuel can and Refill Valve
- Invert the fuel can and insert the tip of the butane into the Product Refill Valve. (Figure 2)
- Apply firm pressure to allow fuel to flow into the Product’s fuel tank until full.
- Do not overfill.
- After filling the Product, allow at least 2 minutes for the butane to stabilize before igniting.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
The Product produces a precision blue flame suitable for various hobby and
household projects including fire starting, soldering, heating, melting, and
thawing. Not intended for commercial use or for extended periods of burn time.
The length of the flame is adjustable and the Product is equipped with an air
mixture control to adjust the flame temperature down from the high temperature
blue flame to a lower temperature yellow flame, which can be used for bending
glass.
WARNING: When using, ignite away from face and clothing.
Be sure flame is out after use.
Do not use the product if it is leaking, damaged or is not operating properly. If there is a leak on your appliance, take it outside immediately into a well- ventilated flame free location where the leak may be detected and stopped. If you wish to check for leaks on your appliance, do it outside. Do not try to detect to leaks using a flame. Do not modify the appliance.
- For ignition, be sure the Air Mix Slide (E) on top of the Product is moved towards the Flame Nozzle (F).
- Fully engage the Child Resistant Lock (C) by firmly gripping the Product. With Child Resistant Lock (C) fully engaged, press the Gas Ignition Trigger (B) to ignite the flame. Release the Gas Ignition Trigger (B) and the Child Resistant Lock (C) to extinguish the flame.
- To adjust the flame size, move the Flame Adjuster (D) toward “+” for a higher flame and “-” for a lower flame.
- To work with yellow flame, move the Air Mix Slide (E) away from the Flame Nozzle (F) to limit the flow of air into the burner. Change the flame only after ignition.
- To return to blue flame move the Air Mix Slide (E) towards the Flame Nozzle (F).
STORAGE: BE SURE FLAME IS OUT AFTER USE. BE SURE THE PRODUCT IS COOLED OFF BEFORE STORING OR LEAVING UNATTENDED.
