Specifications

Option #1 – Secure Diffuser with a Plaster Frame (5HCF23/HCF23)

Mount 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame into the ceiling using factory-provided screws and clips.
Connect the flex duct to the neck of the diffuser (or diffuser backplane if plaque face or removable core).
Move the diffuser through the 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame opening.
Lay the diffuser into the 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame. Attach diffuser face or core as necessary.

Option #2 – Secure Diffuser to Sub-Framing

Install support framing above the ceiling opening. Framing should provide an opening that is 1 inch greater than the neck size and be positioned high enough to allow the edges of the diffuser/backplane to press firmly against the ceiling.
Remove the core or face from the diffuser.
Attach the flex duct to the neck of the diffuser, then centrally position the diffuser in the framed opening, leaving a 1/2 gap on each side of the neck. Drive screws vertically through the backplane into the framing. (Screws and washers by others.)
Re-attach the diffuser core or face to the diffuser back pain.

Option #3 – Secure Diffuser to Hard Duct

Remove the core or face from the diffuser.
The hard duct should be placed snuggly over the diffuser neck, fitting flush to the top of the back pain.
Drive 4 screws horizontally through the neck of the diffuser. (Screws and washers by others.)
Re-attach the diffuser core to diffuser back pain.

Q: Do all diffuser models require a plaster frame for installation?
A: No, only KSD & DVD diffuser models must use a plaster frame due to their core not being removable. For other models like Prism, 1400 Series, and 1450 Series, the Surface Mount (F22) option always includes an aluminium mounting frame for installation.

OPTION #1 – SECURE DIFFUSER WITH A PLASTER FRAME (5HCF23/HCF23)

Diffuser can be installed after all other ceiling components. A plaster frame is installed into the ceiling.
Plaster Frame remains installed in the ceiling, but diffuser can be removed without damaging the ceiling opening.

Mount 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame into the ceiling using factory-provided screws and clips.
Connect the flex duct to the neck of the diffuser (or diffuser backplane if plaque face or removable core).
Move the diffuser through the 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame opening.
Lay the diffuser into the 5HCF23/HCF23 Plaster Frame. Attach diffuser face or core as necessary.

NOTES

For Prism, 1400 Series, and 1450 Series diffuser models, the Surface Mount (F22) option ALWAYS includes an aluminium mounting frame and will use this method of installation.
KSD & DVD diffuser models MUST use a plaster frame due to the core not being removable.

Remove the core or face from a diffuser.
Attach the flex duct to the neck of the diffuser, then centrally position the diffuser in the framed opening, leaving a 1/2” gap on each side of the neck. Drive screws vertically through the backpain into the framing. (Screws and washers by others.)
Re-attach the diffuser core or face to the diffuser back pain.

OPTION #3 – SECURE DIFFUSER TO HARD DUCT

INSTALLATION

Remove the core or face from the diffuser.
The hard duct should be placed snuggly over the diffuser neck, fitting flush to the top of the back pain.
Drive 4 screws horizontally through the neck of the diffuser. (Screws and washers by others.)
Re-attach the diffuser core to the diffuser back pain.
