INSTALL DIRECTIONS

Tools: Marking pen, drill bits and power drill.

STEP 1: Mount the plate to The Mullet

  • Your plate mounts on the flat side (1a) of The Mullet holder.
  • Install the plate mounting hardware into the four corners of the plate. Note the washers should be touching
  • The Mullet holder on the backside (1b). No washers are needed on the outer side of the plate itself.
  • Tighten the four stainless steel bolts until The Mullet’s arms just start to compress. Do not over-tighten. Nylok nuts are included to secure the bolts at low torque.

STEP 2: Check dirt bike fit up

  • Determine the desired position of the plate on the fender. Use the template and the Mullet holder itself to check for interference with the tail light or any fender features.
  • Use the included drill template to mark and drill the holes. Refer to the below image and table.
    • Use a punch (or nail tip) to indent the drill locations. This prevents the bit from wandering off location.
    • Use light pressure drill pressure when drilling plastic.
    • Deburr the hole edges using a box cutter blade, or hobby knife blade.

STEP 3: Mount the Mullet

  • Place The Mullet holder onto the fender, choosing your preferred mounting orientation. The Mullet locating pin should slot into one of the two 5/16” (8mm) holes depending on the desired orientation.
    • Horizontal mounting is required in most locations to be legal.
    • Vertical mounting is best for low-profile storage of the plate when it is not needed.
  • Thread the thumb knob through the backside of the fender and into the plate holder.
    • When turning the knob, it must grab into the material of The Mullet. This makes the first install require slightly more torque to get it going. This is normal.
    • Keep tightening until the knob tightens The Mullet holder is securely on the fender.
    • Torque tightly using only your hands.
  • To remove it, simply undo the knob and remove the plate. Consider stashing the knob in the holder’s centre hole.
