CAUTION:
- Pet care bulb for use with Reptiles, Amphibians, and Invertebrates only!
- This UVB Bulb should be positioned at a minimum distance of 8” or 20cm from the animal.
- Do not stare into this light source, just like you would not stare into direct sunlight. UV (Ultraviolet) light is a necessity in maintaining healthy reptiles and amphibians, but it also comes with potential risks.
Here are some warnings to consider when using UV light in Terrariums:
- Always ensure to use the bulb in an appropriate Fixture, like for instance the Exo Terra Compact Top, to prevent you from direct exposure to UV light.
- Make sure that the beam alignment is directed downward and not to the sides, to prevent your animals from staring directly into the UV light.
- Avoid Direct Exposure: Do not look directly into this light source, just like you would not stare into direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to intense ultraviolet (UV) light, can be harmful to your eyes and may lead to eye fatigue and other potential eye problems.
- Position the bulb and fixture in such a way that there’s always a glass barrier between you and the light source, to prevent you from direct exposure to UV light.
- WARNING: To avoid exposure to UV rays, always shut off or unplug the light source when opening the terrarium doors for feeding, watering or performing maintenance of any kind.
WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed when handling the Exo Terra® TerraSky UVB LED Terrarium Bulb, including the following:
- READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and all important notices before using. Failure to do so may result in damage to the bulb.
- Always unplug an appliance before attempting to replace the light bulb, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
- For lamps with a weight significantly higher than that of the lamps for which they are a replacement, attention should be drawn to the fact that the increased weight may reduce the mechanical stability of certain luminaires and lamp holders and may impair contact-making and lamp retention.
- Ensure the bulb is used only with a light fixture with appropriate wattage and a ceramic bulb holder. To avoid the risk of fire, DO NOT use fixtures with PLASTIC bulb holders.
- WARNING: This equipment is FOR INDOOR USE ONLY. This bulb is NOT waterproof and MUST be protected from coming in contact with water. Use in Dry Locations only.
- CAUTION – RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK – DO NOT USE WHEN THE BULB IS BROKEN. Do not attempt to disassemble the bulb.
- To avoid injury, do not contact hot parts, allow to cool down before handling.
- Never install the bulb near flammable objects. Provide sufficient ventilation. Never cover the bulb.
- These lamps are not suitable for dimming.
- This bulb is not intended for use with emergency exit fixtures or emergency lighting.
- Do not stare directly at the TerraSky UVB LED Bulb when in use.
- This bulb can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the bulb in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the bulb. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- The Exo Terra® TerraSky UVB LED Terrarium Bulb is ideal for use with the Exo Terra® Compact Top Terrarium Canopy.
- Warning: Please make sure the power is off before installation.
- Warning: Do not put your fingers in the exposed light socket.
- Warning: Do not use this bulb in conjunction with a dimmer or thermostat.
- Turn off the power source by unplugging the fixture or luminaire.
- Carefully remove the bulb from its packaging, hold the bulb by the base and inspect for any possible cracks or damage. If the bulb shows any signs of damage, see the warranty section of this manual.
- With the power off, align the LED lamp with the lamp holder socket and gently screw your TerraSky UVB LED Bulb into the socket using a clockwise motion. Stop twisting as soon as you feel a slight resistance.
- Rotate the TerraSky UVB LED Bulb to direct the wide beam to a specific area in the terrarium where optimal levels of UVA and UVB rays are desired. Make sure that the beam alignment is directed downward and not to the sides, to prevent your animals from staring directly into the UV light. Position the bulb and fixture in such a way that there’s always a glass barrier between you and the light source.
- Plug the fixture into an electrical outlet and turn on the power.
Combine the optimal levels of UVA and UVB from our TerraSky UVB LED Terrarium Bulb with Exo Terra’s Daytime Basking Spot or Intense Basking Spot, depending on your animal’s temperature requirements. Or combine with Exo Terra’s Infrared Basking Spot to create a 24-hour cycle.
