BATTERYLESS JUMP STARTER ULTRACAPACITOR
WARNING
**** To reduce risk of injury, everyone using, installing, repairing,
maintaining, changing accessories on, or working near this tool must read and
understand these instructions before performing any such task.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- DO NOT DISCARD IT – GIVE IT TO THE USER
- Always use eye protection during operation.
- WARNING! Use of accessories or an attachment not recommended or sold by the Batteryless Jump Starter’s manufacturer may result in personal injury and/or damage to the device.
- Always carefully handle the Jumper cables and use the plugs to connect and disconnect the automatic adaptor charger. Never pull on the cables.
- Do not recharge the Batteryless Start jumper with a damaged plug or cord.
- The Batteryless Jump Starter may be used in all weather conditions. However, never allow the device to become heavily covered, soaked or submerged in water. Do not charge the device in a wet environment. Never attempt to charge or boost a frozen battery.
- Never allow the positive (red) and negative (black) clamps to contact each other or allow them to contact the same piece of metal or post. Always avoid any short circuit.
- Do not operate the Device in an explosive environment or near sparks, flames, and flammables such as gasoline etc.
- Never smoke while operating the Device or near any vehicle battery.
- Do not attempt to repair a damaged Batteryless start jumper by yourself. Always have repairs performed by the manufacturer or an authorized agent. (such attempts will void the warranty)
- Read the owner’s manual entirely carefully. Please also read your vehicle’s user manual to make sure there are no specific precautions you should be aware of.
- Please wear safety equipment, including safety glasses and gloves. Car batteries produce explosive gases that can cause damage.
- Use only in a well-ventilated area.
- Do not disassembleBatteryless Jump Starter. Take it to a qualified service professional or designated service center for control. Incorrect assembly may result in fire or electrical shock.
- Keep out of reach of children. Not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the Batteryless Supercap Start Booster.
- Do not use or recharge the Batteryless Supercap Start Booster if damaged. Take it to a qualified person for inspection and repair.
- The Batteryless Jump Starter is not designed to be installed as a replacement for a vehicle battery.
- Make sure jump-started vehicle is in the park position and the emergency brake is engaged.
- Do not turn on any electronics before jump-starting and make sure the ignition key is in the “OFF” position.
- Wear eyeglasses and protective clothing when working near lead-acid batteries.
- Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in the vicinity of the battery or engine.
- WARNING: Read the operating instructions thoroughly and take these precautions when operating the Batteryless Jump Starter:
- Pay attention that the terminal voltage of the Batteryless Jump Starter corresponds with the data of the vehicle battery or batteries. Use this device with proper cranking amperage and capacity for the application. Non-adherence to this may result in damage to vehicle electronics, and damage to the unit, and may increase the risk of a dangerous explosion.
- Pay attention to any potential moving parts in a vehicle engine compartment. Always keep the Batteryless Jump Starter and yourself clear of any potential moving parts and position the device in a stable location while starting a vehicle.
- After starting a vehicle, DO NOT leave the Batteryless Jump Starter connected for more than 2 minutes with the runner engine. Danger! Risk of explosion! Always disconnect the clamps one at a time starting with the negative and then the positive. Then turn the main switch to the “OFF” position.
- To avoid any short-circuit of current and to protect the clamps, positive (red) and negative (black) clamps must always be stored in the specially designed holders when not in use. Use the cable holders to store the cable neatly on the unit.
- Have your Batteryless Jump Starter safety inspected by an authorized agent of the manufacturer? (every 3 years).

- This product is designed to help to start the vehicle’s engine in case of an emergency. No other use is permitted. For professional use only.
- Please read the instructions carefully before starting the machine.
OPERATION
The Batteryless Jump Starter relies on the instant recharging of
supercapacitors rather than stored electric energy like batteries. Therefore,
it can be stored for years without regular recharges. It’s totally
maintenance-free!
CAUTION: Before first use make sure to charge the Batteryless Jump Starter
with the optional automatic charger adaptor for at least 8 hours or with a
running vehicle (a few seconds), follow the instructions in the corresponding
chapters. Do not use any other automatic charger adaptor than recommended by
Chicago Pneumatic.
Checking the power level of the Batteryless Jump Starter
- Press the yellow test button for 2-5 seconds. The power level will be displayed with LED lights.
- Make sure the unit is fully charged before using it (the 5 LEDs lights must be on).
- If the power level is lit until the yellow LEDs light, the device should be recharged before use.
Charging the Batteryless Jump Starter with the automatic charger adaptor (optional)
- Make sure the clamps are secure in their respective designated holders before charging.
- Make sure the charger adaptor and Batteryless Jump Starter are placed in a well-ventilated, dry, non-flammable area during charge.
- Simply plug the charger adaptor into the AC power outlet and then into the socket on the Batteryless Jump Starter.
- Turn the main switch to the “ON” position.
- The charger included with your device is fully automatic and may be left on and connected when the Batteryless Jump Starter is fully
charged. To keep the Batteryless Jump Starter ready to use, recharge it at least every 90 days with the supplied automatic charger adaptor. However, when not in use it is strongly recommended to always keep it connected to the supplied automatic charger adaptor to be used anytime.
Charging the Batteryless Jump Starter through the clamps with a running
vehicle
Note: Charging with a running vehicle requires a much shorter time than
charging with the automatic charger adaptor.
Caution: Charging with a running vehicle is not automatic and requires the
operator to manually observe the charging of the Batteryless Jump Starter and
the power level status. Always make sure the vehicle is running and never
leave the Batteryless Jump Starter connected for a long time and charging
unattended.
Caution: Make sure to use this 12V Batteryless Jump Starter with a 12V
battery or vehicle.

Make sure the vehicle ignition is in the “OFF” position.

Make sure the main switch of the Batteryless Jump Starter is on the “OFF” position

Connect first the positive (red) clamp to the positive terminal of the battery

Then connect the negative (black) clamp to the negative terminal of the battery, to the block of the engine, or to the frame of the vehicle (ground)

Make sure the device is stable and the cables are not in the path of moving belts, fans, etc…

Make sure the reverse polarity alarm is not making a loud noise and blinking.

Once the clamps are positioned correctly, start the vehicle
-
Turn the main switch to the “ON” position The Batteryless Jump Starter will charge automatically within a few seconds.
Caution: DO NOT leave it connected for more than 2 minutes. To check the power level status, press the yellow test button for 2-5 seconds. -
When the Batteryless Jump Starter is charged, turn the main switch to the “OFF” position.

Always disconnect the clamps one at a time starting with the negative (black) and then the positive (red).

Store both clamps in their respective designated holders.
Jump starting a 12V vehicle and charging the Batteryless Jump Starter
Caution: Make sure to use this 12V Batteryless Jump Starter with a 12V
battery or vehic le.

Make sure the vehicle ignition is in the “OFF” position and turn off ALL electronics in the vehicle (air conditioning, radio, lights, etc.)

Make sure the Batteryless Jump Starter is fully charged and the main switch is on the “OFF” position

Connect first the positive clamp (red) to the positive terminal of the battery
-
Then connect the negative (black) clamp to the negative terminal of the battery, or to the block of the engine or to the frame of the vehicle (ground)

Make sure the device is stable and the cables are not in the path of moving belts, fans, etc…

Make sure the reverse polarity alarm is not making a loud noise and blinking

Once the clamps are positioned correctly, turn the main switch to the “ON” position

Stay clear of the device and the vehicle battery. Attempt to start the vehicle
Caution: Should the vehicle refuse to start within 3-10 seconds, have the Batteryless Jump Starter cool down a minimum of 3 minutes before you attempt to start the vehicle again.
WARNING! OVERUSE MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF AN EXPLOSION, PERSONAL INJURY OR SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE UNIT. ATTEMPTS TO START ALWAYS HAVE TO BE VERY SHORT. -
Once the vehicle is started, the Batteryless Jump Starter will charge automatically.
Caution: DO NOT leave it connected for more than 2 minutes. -
When the Batteryless Jump Starter is charged, turn the main switch to the “OFF” position.

Always disconnect the clamps one at a time starting with the negative (black) and then the positive (red).

Store both clamps in their respective designated holders.
DISPOSAL
- The disposal of this equipment must follow the legislation of the respective country.
- All damaged, badly worn or improperly functioning devices MUST BE TAKEN OUT OF OPERATION.
- Repair only by technical maintenance staff.
Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste material!
