YAESU FT891 External Memory Keypad
DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION
The External Memory Keypad consists of a control keypad and a 1mcable.
The YAESU Keypad offers five memories for pre-recorded messages in different
operating modes. FT891, 991A, FTDX10, FTDX101MP
This is especially useful in contests, but can also be used for any CQ call or
other standard text.
These memories are available for CW, RTTY and SSB, and can normally be recalled via the touch screen. However, since you usually want to display something else on the screen, this extension offers the possibility to recall the eight memories with an external keyboard. This makes it much easier to run a contest or work through a pile-up.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Plug the 3.5mm cable into the keypad connector and the other end into the jack of the external keyboard on the back of the radio.

There are 1-5 channels available.

Press the “MEM” button in the lower right corner and the ‘REC’ will flash on the screen. Then press and hold the #1 storage button, then press the PTT button torecord the first audio. and the ‘REC’ disappears to indicate that the recording is complete.

Or click on ‘message’ to display all five pieces of audio.

Same thing in CW mode, click on MEM and then press the storage channel you need to edit.
*You need to set BK-IN in the setup to on to actually send it out in CW mode.
