PREPARATION

  1. Insert the Tire Support Bolt from the back side of the hole located on the bottom of the Ladder Rack. Connect the Tire Support to the Tire Support Bolt, the bolt will thread into the hole of the Tire Support. Repeat this process for the second Tire Support.
  2. Attach Center Wheel Mount Bolt from behind. Place Square Washer, Lock Washer and hand tighten Nut onto Bolt. Once the Mount Bolt is on, place Cone Spacer, Winged Handle and hand tighten.
  3. Install the Mast Steps by threading the Bolts and Washers from behind into the provided Foot Pegs.
  4. Obtain the Upper, Lower, and Latch Brackets. Unscrew the nuts from the bolt plate to separate these pieces from the Upper and Lower Hinge Brackets. Next, unscrew the nuts from the Latch Bracket, but leave the bolt plate attached.
  5. Locate the door latch on the inner edge of the driver’s side rear door. Remove the door latch using a T45 torx bit by removing the two bolts holding the latch mechanism.
  6. Pull back the weather strip and place the Latch Bracket on the door and align holes on the bracket with the bolt holes on the van. Place the previously removed bolts back in, and re-attach the Latch Handle and make sure the post is centered so the door will operate properly.
  7. Temporarily remove about 12 inches of the weather strip, mark on the weather strip metal channel where it aligns with the top and bottom of the bracket. Cut relief lines in the ribbed channel. Clean the area thoroughly. Place a strip of the Vinyl Tape on the exposed area of the door, underneath the seal. Start from the outside edge, working your way inside the door.
  8. Have a friend hold up the door while you unbolt the upper hinge from the door. These bolts use a T45 Torx bit.
  9. Insert the Upper Hinge Bracket through the door hinge before using the bolts that were removed in step 8 to secure the bracket to the hinge. Ensure the bracket is not touching the outside face of the door, then tighten the bolts. Repeat steps 8 and 9 to install the Lower Hinge Bracket.
  10. On the passenger’s side door, unbolt the door lock using a T35 Torx bit. After unbolting, insert the spacer between the door lock and the metal of the door. Once the spacer is in place, use the same bolts to secure the door lock and spacer.
  11. Have a friend hold up the Ladder Rack while you insert the plate with welded bolts through the Ladder Rack and Upper Hinge Bracket. Use the nuts to slightly tighten the bracket into place. Repeat this step to secure the Ladder Rack to the Lower Hinge Bracket and finally the Latch Bracket.
  12. Once everything is fastened down, you can attach your wheel by removing the Winged Handle and Cone Spacer. Make sure the Center Support is centered based on the size of your wheel and tighten the nut. Place your wheel on the Center Support and put the Cone Spacer back on. Secure with the Winged Handle until tight.
