IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Temperature and Self-Adjusting Safety Feature
It is normal for the cable temperature to rise during charging, particularly
during summer when the ambient temperature is high. This is true of all NEMA
adapters (including OE adapters). Also, a reduction of charge strength to 16
Amp and/or charging deactivation is a safety feature built into Tesla’s
onboard system. A built-in sensor in our NEMA adapter (and all OE adapters)
communicates the operating temperature to your vehicle; and, in turn, your
vehicle adjusts the charge strength and/or temporarily deactivates the charge
when the maximum operating temperature of 50 C (122 F) is reached.
