How to use a dehumidifier properly
Maintain a minimum clearance of 20 inches on all the sides and the top of the dehumidifier to allow for proper air circulation.
Auto Defrost, Low Temperature Operation
- 41 °F s Room Temperature s 53°F: Dehumidifier would defrost automatically for every 30 minutes.
- 53°F s Room Temperature s 68°F: Dehumidifier would defrost automatically for every 45 minutes.
SAFETY INFORMATION
To prevent injury and property damage. the following instructions must be followed when using the dehumidifier.

The dehumidifier is for indoor use only. Don’t use it for other purpose.

Install the dehumidifier on flat and hard floor, table, or shelf, to diminish vibration or noise.

Do not place the dehumidifier near a heater.

Do not use the dehumidifier near flammable gas or combustibles, such as gasoline, benzene, thinner, etc.
-
Operate the dehumidifier only at the voltage specified.
-
Always plug into a grounded outlet properly.
-
Do not use if the power cord is broken or damaged.
-
Do not use the socket if it is loose or damaged.
-
Do not place a heavy object on the power cord and make sure that the cord is not compressed.
-
Do not modify power cord length.

Do not operate the dehumidifier with wet hands.e
-
Do not place flower vases or other water containers on top of the dehumidifier.
-
Do not climb on or sit on the dehumidifier.
-
Never insert your finger or other foreign objects into grills or openings. Take special care to warn children of these dangers.
-
Do not operate or turn off the dehumidifier by plugging in or unplugging the dehumidifier.
Use the control panel instead. -
Disconnect the power if strange sounds, odors, or smoke come from the dehumidifier.

Hold the plug by the head when taking it out.
-
Make sure to turn off and unplug the dehumidifier before cleaning.
-
Use a soft cloth to clean. Do not use wax, thinner, or a strong detergent.
-
Do not clean the dehumidifier with water. If water enters the dehumidifier, turn off the dehumidifier immediately.
-
Care should be taken when using the dehumidifier in a room with the following persons: infants, children, the elderly, and people with reduced reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Turn off and disconnect the power when not using the dehumidifier for a long time.

Do not tip the dehumidifier to any side which could damage the dehumidifier.

The functioning temperature range for the dehumidifier is 41-95°F.
OPERATIONS
-
POWER Button
- Press the POWER button to turn the dehumidifier on. The dehumidifier will automatically run in the defaulted CONT (CONTINUOUS) mode in high fan speed. The POWER button bacldight and CONT indicator light up in orange, the SPEED button bacldight light up in red.
- Press the POWER button again to tum off the dehumidifier.
NOTE: Don’t tum off the dehumidifier by unplugging the plug.

HUMSET Button
Press the HUMSET button to exist the CONT mode and enters into the smart mode.
Repeatedly press the HUMSET button to set to set a target humidity value from 40% to 80% in 5% increments. Since the default target humidity setting is 60, when changes are being made, the setting value changes are as following 60% – 65’6 – 70% – 75% – 80% – 40% – 45% – 50% – 55% – 60%. .After selecting the target value, wait for S seconds until the digital number stops blinking and turns to show the actual room humidity level.
Note:- If the set humidity value is higher than the room humidity level, the dehumidifier won’t start.
- When the dehumidifier gets the room humidity level down to the set-point. the dehumidifier will auto-stop. And the dehumidifier will auto-restart when the room humidity raises back.
- Press and hold the HUMSET button for 3 seconds to query the current environmental humidity.
- When we set the humidity as•–•, the dehumidifier enters into the CONT mode, S seconds later, “HUMSE’r backlight goes off and the “CONT”‘ indicator lights up.

TIMER Button

Repeatedly press this button to set a timer to either delay AUTO-ON or delay AUTO-OFF the dehumidifier in the choice from 1 hour to 24 hours.

Setting an AUTO-ON timer.: When the dehumidifier is off, selecting Timer will turn the dehumidifier on in the hours that will be set.

Setting an AUTO-OFF timer: When the dehumidifier is on, selecting Timer will turn the
dehumidifier off in the hours that will be set.
Note: -
The TIMER will ONLY function one time instead of cycling the dehumidifier on or off indefinitely.

Set the timer 00, the timer function will not be activated.
-
Once the dehumidifier has been turned ON/OFF manually, the AUTO ON/OFF timer setting will be canceled.

SPEED Button
Press the SPEED button to adjust the fan speed between HIGH and LOW.
The backlight is red when the dehumidifier runs in high speed, The backlight is blue when the dehumidifier runs in low speed . -
Digital Display
Shows the set % humidity level from 20 to 80 or auto ON/OFF timer from 00 to 24 while setting, then shows the actual (±5% accuracy) room humidity level % statically.- When room humidity level < 20%, the LCD displays “LO”.
- When room humidity level > 95%, the LCD displays “HI”.

Digital Number Color Identification:
- 20% .s Room Humidity <50%, the digital number is RED.
- 50% .s Room Humidity .s 67%, the digital number is BLUE.
- 67% < Room Humidity ~81 %, the digital number is GREEN.
- 81%< Room Humidity .S95%, the digital number is RED.

FULL Indicator
When the water tank is full, the water full indicator lights up and the dehumidifier will buzz 15 times and then stop dehumidifying. Empty the water tank and re-install the water bucket in the dehumidifier to resume the operation.
WATER DRAINAGE
Emptying the Water Bucket
When the water bucket is full, the dehumidifier will automatically stop
working and make a beep sound. Meanwhile, the water full indicator will light
up in green. Do not move the dehumidifier at this time in case the water
spills on the floor.
*Gently remove the water bucket on the back of the dehumidifier (FIG 1);
@Empty the water bucket;
Replace the water bucket in the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier will auto-start
once the bucket has been seated properly.
NOTE: Do not remove the float (FIG 4) from the water tank; otherwise, the dehumidifier will not stop working when the water tank is full. Then the water will be overflow that may damage your floor.
Continuously Drain by Gravity
- Take out the water bucket (FIG 1);
- Attach one end of the hose to to drain outlet (FIG 2);
- Replace the water bucket in the dehumidifier, mind routing the hose out from the cutting on the bucket, and direct the other end of the drain hose down to a suitable drainage facility, like a floor drain (FIG 3).
Note :
- The drainage facility should be lower than the drain outlet of the dehumidifier.
- Make sure the connection is tight and there is no leaking.
- Be sure to run the water hose sloping downward to let the water flow out smoothly. No kinks or bent.
- To improve gravity draining, you can raise the dehumidifier onto another higher and flat surface, like a table.
- If the condensation water would be drained out to an external container via the hose, be sure NOT to submerge the other end of the hose into the drained out water.
- It is not recommended to use a long hose. If the drain hose is too long, water may not drain completely, which can lead to stagnant water and mildew build up inside the hose.
- When the continuous drain feature is not being used, remove the drain hose from the outlet.
CARE & CLEANING
To avoid possible electric shock, ensure to turn the dehumidifier off and disconnect the plug from the power source before performing any cleaning or maintenance.
Clean the Dehumidifier Housing
- Unplug the dehumidifier before any cleaning.
- Clean the housing with a soft moisture cloth.
- Do not use chemical solvent (such as benzene, alcohol, or gasoline). The surface may be damaged or even the whole housing may be deformed.
- Do not sprinkle water on the dehumidifier.
Clean the Air filter
The air filter is located behind the rear intake grill to prevents dust coming
into the dehumidifier.
The filter is recommended to be cleaned approximately every 2 weeks and may
require more frequent cleaning if there is significant dander or fur in the
air.

Take out the filter

Clean the filter and dry thoroughly
Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove any large debris or dust build-up from the filter.
Wash the filter in lukewarm, soapy water, below 40°C (104°F), or use a neutral cleaning agent.
Rinse the filter with clean water and dry thoroughly. -
Re-install the filter
Clean the Water Bucket
Every few weeks, clean the water bucket to prevent the growth of mold, mildew,
and bacteria.
- Take out the water bucket;
- Partially fill the bucket with clean water and add a little mild detergent;
- Swish it around in the bucket, empty and rinse.
NOTE: Do not clean the bucket in a dishwasher.
Store the Dehumidifier
If the dehumidifier will not be used for an extended period of time:
- Drain the water tank completely and make sure no water stocked inside.
- Unplug the dehumidifier and fold up the power supply cord.
- Remove and clean the air filter, allow it to dry completely and re-install it.
- Cover the dehumidifier with a plastic bag.
- Store the dehumidifier upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The below chart will help you solve common problems that may occur. If the problem you come across can not be fixed after troubleshooting or the problem is not listed in the below troubleshooting chart, please contact LUKO customer service to obtain professional support.
Problem | Possible Causes | Solution |
---|
Dehumidifier can not turn
on
| No power supply| Plug into a functioning outlet and turn it on.
The fuse is blown or circuit breaker is tripped.| Check the fuse or the
circuit breaker.
Dehumidifier is on, but it does not run.
| The water bucket is full or not in the proper position.| Make sure the water
bucket is empty and has been installed properly.
The set humidity value is
higher than the current room humidity level.
| The set humidity needs to be at least 5% (recommend 10%) lower than room
humidity.
Room temperature is lower than 41°F (Error CL) or higher
than 95°F (Error CH)
| Make sure the dehumidifier is in a room that is within the functioning
temperature range.
The dehumidifier is in the defrostinq process.| It is normal the compressor
ceases during the defrostinq process.
AUTO-ON timer is enabled.| Turn off the Auto-ON timer.
Insufficient Performance
| Insufficient dehumidifying time.| When first installed, allow at least 3-4
days to lower the room humidity level.
The room has not been sealed properly.| Ensure that all doors, windows and
other openings are closed.
The air filter is dirty.| Clean the air filter.
Airflow has been blocked.| Ensure there are no obstructions block the airflow.
There is something giving off water vapor in the room.| Remove those items or
turn off such devices that give off vapor in the room.
The room temperature is low.| Heat up the room for better drying performance.
The dehumidifier size is too small for the room.| Increase the quantity of
dehumidifiers. Or change a higher capacity dehumidifier.
Dehumidifier operates continuously
| Check if the dehumidifier is in CONT mode.| Change into Normal mode and
don’t set the humidity too low. 50% is good setting to use.
The room humidity is too hiqh.| Change humidity settings. Or change a higher
capacity dehumidifier.
Doors and windows are open.| Ensure that all doors, windows and other openings are closed.
Noise
| The dehumidifier’s not positioned level.| Position the dehumidifier on a
level surface.
The water bucket is not in the proper position.| Re-install the water bucket
properly.
The air filter is cloqqed.| Wash the filter.
Frost
appears on the coils
| The dehumidifier has been turned on recently.| This is normal frost builds
up on the coils, especially when the room temperature is low. The dehumidifier
will defrost automatically.
Room temperature is close
to or lower than 60°F.
Water leakaqe| Hose connection is loose.| Check the hose connection, make sure
it is tight.
Error Code| Code Explanation| Solution

E2| Humidity sensor malfunction| Unplug the sensor out and re-plug it in; Or

LO| Room humidity is lower than 20%| The dehumidifier auto off to protect
itself. Make sure the dehumidifier runs in a suitable environment.
HI| Room humidity is higher than 95%
CL| Room temperature is lower than 41°F
CH| Room temperature is higher than 95°F
