INSTALLATION TIPS

Door-frame : Make sure you’ve chosen a doorframe that is made from good- quality materials and appears to be very sturdy.

Screw-in Door-mounts:

  • Close the door and then position the door mounts by marking the screw holes with a pencil.
  • It is ideal to to pre-drill pilot screw holes with a drill bit slightly smaller than the shaft of the screw. This makes it easier to insert the screws and reduces the chance of cracks in the wood.
  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver or electric drill to install screws and door-mounts

Extending the Bar

We find the easiest way to extend or reduce the length of the bar is to hold both ends still and turn the padded part. You can do this by holding one end on the floor with your foot or by firmly placing one end in a door mount.
Note : Because it is designed for the middle part to turn, this means that one end turns clockwise and the other end turns counter-clockwise (both ends move freely with no need for force)

OTHER USAGE TIPS

  • Use the Heavy-duty door mounts : For safety’s sake, it is our strong recommendation that you use the screw-in heavy-duty doorframe brackets on a sturdy doorframe. The medium-duty door mounts should only be used at waist height or below. The bar should only be mounted without door-mounts if it is used close to the floor, e.g. as a foot-bar for sit-ups.
  • Check it’s safe every time: ALWAYS CHECK that the pull-up bar is safe and secure every time before you use it. Failure to do so could result in the bar falling and causing serious injury.
  • Do NOT overtighten the bar: While you should always make sure the bar is firmly in place, it is important not to over-tighten it as this places a lot of stress on the door-frame. Use the securing clamps and Allen wrench to ensure that the bar does not get tighter as you use it.
  • Correct use of the bar : The bar is designed mainly for pullups and chin-ups. Avoid using it for gymnastic-type exercises. Also, avoid doing explosive movements that could jerk the bar and place great pressure on the door frame.
  • Not a toy : The Pull-Up Bar should not be used as a kid’s plaything as unfortunately, sometimes children use it roughly in a manner it wasn’t designed for. Securing the bar: The bar comes with a securing clamp at each end. Slide the clamp onto the flange (inside the slot) and then tighten the screw with the Allen Wrench

GETTING STARTED – THE BASICS

Let’s be honest, chin-ups and pull-ups are hard – that’s why they are such good exercises. Many beginners may not have enough strength at first to successfully do proper chin-ups or pull-ups. So, it is advised to start slowly and build up gradually as your strength increases.

  • To get started, grab the bar and lift your body up until your chin is above the bar. Lower your body until your arms and shoulders are fully extended (you can adjust the difficulty by how far you lower your body). Repeat.
    • Note : If at any time during your Pull-up bar  exercises you experience discomfort or pain, stop the exercise immediately and consult your

SAFETY IS IMPORTANT

Garren Fitness takes safety seriously and we make strong efforts to provide safe products with installation instructions and safe usage warnings. It is the full responsibility of each customer to ensure that those instructions and warnings are followed correctly.

The Maximize Pull-Up Bar (like every other brand of doorway pull-up bar) is NOT permanently fixed to the doorframe and, as a result, can fall if incorrectly installed or if safe usage instructions are not followed EVERY time it is used. When using a pull up bar, your full bodyweight is being held many feet above the floor and any falls can cause serious or fatal injury. Your risk of injury is greatly reduced when you practice safe techniques and common sense.
