Safety and General Information

  1. RF Energy Exposure
    This HUNICOM walkie talkie uses electromagnetic energy in the radio frequency (RF) spectrum to provide communications. All HUNICOM walkie talkies are designed, manufactured, and tested to ensure they meet government- established RF exposure levels. Please refer to the following websites for more information on what RF energy exposure is and how to control to assure compliance with established RF exposure  limits: http://www.who.int/en

  2. RF Exposure Control Guidelines

    • Transmit no more than 50% of the time because the radio generates measurable RF energy exposure only when transmitting.
    • Keep antenna and microphone at least 2 inches (5 cm) from your head and body.
  3. Licensing Information
    FCC
    The FCC ID means: This radio complies with the IEEE (FCC) and ICNIRP exposure limits for occupational/controlled RF exposure environments at operating duty factors of up to 50% talk-50% listen and is approved for occupational use only.

  4. CE
    The CE marking means: The radio equipment type is in compliance with the RED Directive.

Warning

  1. Turn OFF your radio when you are in potentially explosive atmosphere: near electrical blasting caps, in a blasting area, in explosive atmospheres (inflammable gas, dust particles, metallic powders, grain powders, etc.)
  2. To avoid electromagnetic interference and/or compatibility conflicts, turn off your radio in where posted notices instruct you to do so, such as aircraft, hospital, etc.
  3. Assemble only as this manual describes. When service or repair is required, contact us.

Operation Instruction

Power Switch/Volume Setting
Turn the power switch/volume knob clockwise to turn on the radio and turn up the volume. Turn this knob counterclockwise to turn down the volume.

Channel Setting
Press the menu button once, and the channel icon will flash. Next, press the up/down button to select channel, Finally, press the PTT button to confirm setting.

CTCSS/DCS
Press the menu button twice, then press the up/down button to choose from OF-99. Finally, press the PTT button to complete: seting.

VOX
In VOX mode, no need 1o press PTT, the radio willbe activated by the voice and transmit the message. Press the menu button three times. Then press the up/down button and choose from OF-3 1o tum on/off or set up the VOX sensitive level. 1 is the minimur sensitiviy level. 3 is the. highest sensitivity level. Press the PTT button to complete setting.

Note: In VOX mode, when transiting for more than 180s, there will be alert sounds and the radio will stop transmitting.

Call Tone
Press the menu button four times. Then press the up/down button 1o select the calltone. Press the PTT bution to complete. sefting.
The device has 10 call tones. It alerts the others that you want to transmit

Key-Tone On/Off
Press the menu buffon fve times. Then press the up/down bufton fo tum oot the key-lone. Press the PTT buton o complete seting.

Dual-Channel Monitoring
Press the menu button six times. Then press up/down button to tum on/off or select another channel. Press the PTT button to ‘complete seting.

Roger Sound
Alter ransmiting, the racio wil send a short “beep” sound (1oger sound) to the other racio which n the same channel and sub-channel o indicate tha the transmiting i fnshed. Press the menu buion seven times. Then press the up/down bulion o tum on/off the roger sound. Press the PTT buion to complete seting.

High and Low Power
Pross the menu butfon eigh imes. Then press the up/down button to select LO (low power) or HI (high power). Finally, press the PTT bution o complete seting. Nole: the Factory Gelault mode is ow power.

LED Flashlight
Press the LAMP button once to tum on the flashiight, then press once again to tun off the flashight. Press and hold the LAMP button for 3 seconds to send the call tone on the current channel,

Scanning
Shortly press the MON button to start scanning, then the channel icon will change from channel 1-22 (EU 16) on the display. The channel will stay when there is a signal, and the radio will keep scanning by pressing the up/down button or ‘waiting until the signal disappears. In channel-staying status, press PTT button to talk on the channel (must in same CTCSS/DCS).
Note:

Monitoring
Press and hold the MON button to start monitoring, and release he bution {0 exit monitoring mod.

Keypad Lock
Press and hold the menu button for 3 seconds to lock/unlock the keypad.
Note: After unlocking the keypad, the PTT button and LAMP button vilsil be functional

Receiving and Transmitting

  • Sel the radio you wani o fak in the same channel or Sub-channel (CTCSS/DCS)
  • Alter the devices are tumed on, they are ready to receive the message.\
  • To send a voice message, press and hold the PTT button and speak to the microphone. Release the PTT button when you finish the message.

Note: Keep antenna and microphone at least 2 inches (5 cm) from your face\

Battery Saving
When the device has not been used for 5 seconds, the economy mode will be activated.

Low Battery Alert
The alert tone will be heard every 15 seconds when the battery is low.

Time-out Timer
To prevent accidental transmission and save battery power, the radio will emit warning tone and stops transmitting if you continuously press the PTT button for 180 seconds.
