Set Up Your Smart Light Switch
Follow these steps to set up your Smart Light Switch:
- Download and install the Kasa Smart app from Google Play or the App Store.
- Log in or sign up with your TP-Link ID.
- Add your device to the app.
Main Device Controls
After setting up your Smart Light Switch, you can control it using the Kasa
Smart app:
- Home Page: Turn on/off your device directly from the home page.
- Status Page: Change light brightness, set schedules, timers, and check runtime from the status page.
Set Schedules and Timers
You can automate your lighting with schedules and timers:
- Set Schedules: Program your dimmer switch to turn on/off at specific times based on your routine.

Introduction
Control your home lighting from anywhere, anytime with the Kasa Smart app. Easily dim your lights from 1% to 100%.
- Smart Dimming – Adjust your home’s brightness freely using the Kasa Smart app, built-in dimmer buttons, and voice commands via Alexa or Google Assistant. With the Fade On/Off feature, smoothly adjust lighting levels without sudden eye-irritating brightness or darkness.
- Brightness Control – Control the brightness of your lights to set the perfect ambiance for any activity.
- Voice Control – Use simple voice commands to control the lights with Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Remote Control – Control anything connected to your smart light switch, like lights, ceiling fans or other fixtures, from anywhere using the Kasa Smart app.

Set Up Your Smart Light Switch
Follow the steps below to set up your Smart Light Switch via Kasa Smart app.

Download and install Kasa app
Go to Google Play or the App Store or scan the QR code below to download the Kasa Smart app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. -
Log in or sign up with TP-Link ID
Open the app. Use your TP-Link ID to log in.
If you don’t have a TP-Link ID, tap Create Account and the Kasa Smart app will guide you through the rest. -
Add Device
Tap the + button in the Kasa Smart app,- If your device is white, select Smart Switches > Smart Switch (Wi-Fi).
- If your device is almond, select Smart Switches > Smart Switch (BLE). Then follow app instructions to complete setup.
Main Device Controls
After you successfully set up your Smart Light Switch, you will see the home page of the Kasa Smart app. Here you can view and manage all devices that you’ve added to Kasa. Tap your smart switch to control and manage it.
Home Page
Turn on/off your device on the Home page.
Status Page
Turn on/off your device, change light brightness, or set schedules, timer,
Away Mode or check runtime on the Status page.
Set Schedules
Set schedules to automatically turn on/off the light at set times according to
your daily routine.
Set a Timer
Set the timer for your dimmer switch to automatically turn on/off after the
time ends.
Set Away Mode
Set Away Mode for your dimmer switch to turn on/off the light automatically at
random intervals while you are away to make the appearance that someone is at
home.
Check Runtime
Check runtime to keep track of how long your dimmer switch has been working.
Manage Device Settings
- Tap on the Status Page to enter the Device Settings page.

Edit device name and icon
You can edit the device name and icon of your dimmer switch. -
Set brightness presets
Set preset brightness levels so you can switch to the desired brightness with just one tap. The presets will appear on the Status page of the light.

Set default state
Set the state you want your device to turn to under different occasions. -
Set fade on/off
Set the fade on/off time for the light to reduce the strain on your eyes.

Control your device LED.
Set the LED status. -
Check Groups that your Smart Switch is in.
Check whether your device is added to a group with other devices for simultaneous control.
Reset Your Smart Switch
You can remove your device from the Kasa Smart app on the Home page or on the Device Settings page, or by pressing the Reset button on your Smart Switch.
Home Page
Long press the fan or the light and then tap . Double confirm it.
Device Status Page
Tap Remove Device. Double confirm it.
Press the Reset button
Press and hold the Reset for at least 10 seconds to restore factory default
settings.
