Dear Customer,
Congratulations on your choice of Transit 121 IR.
This user manual is designed to help you familiarise yourself with the extensive features of your new digital radio and use it optimally.
We have made an effort to make the operating instructions as clear and concise as possible.
The functionality of your device may be extended regularly through software updates. As a result, there may be new operating steps or functions that are not explained in this user guide, or existing functions may change. We therefore recommend that you  regularly visit the TechniSat website to download the latest user manual.
We wish you much enjoyment with your Transit 121 IR!

1.1 Anticipated use
The unit is designed to receive and play radio programmes via DAB+, FM and the internet. In addition, music can be played via a Bluetooth connection. The device should only be used with the supplied accessories (power supply, batteries, cables, antenna…).  Other use of these accessories is not permitted. The device is intended for private use and is not suitable for commercial purposes. Any other use will be considered unsuitable!

Service information

Please read all safety instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Always follow all warnings and instructions in this manual and on the back of the unit.

• The appliance may only be connected to a mains voltage of 100-240 V~, 50/60 Hz.
  Never attempt to use the device at any other voltage.

• Use only the supplied power adapter.

• The power supply can only be connected once the installation has been properly carried out.

• If the unit’s power supply is damaged or shows other damage, it must not be used.

• As this device disconnects from the power source by unplugging the power supply, it is important that it is always easily accessible.

• When removing the power supply from the socket, pull on the plug, not the cable.

• To avoid the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the unit to rain or other moisture.

• Do not use the device near bathtubs, swimming pools or water splashes.

• Do not place any containers containing liquids, e.g. vases, on the appliance with flowers. They can topple over and leaking liquid can cause serious damage or risk electrocution.

• If foreign matter or liquid enters the unit, immediately disconnect the power supply from the socket. Have the device checked by qualified personnel before using it again. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

• Do not open the housing. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

• Never attempt to repair a faulty device yourself. Always contact one of our customer service centres.

• Do not, under any circumstances, open the appliance – this must only be done by a specialist.

• Foreign bodies, e.g. needles, coins, etc., must not fall into the unit.

• Do not touch the connection contacts on the back of the device with metal objects or fingers. Short circuits may result.

• Sources of open flame, such as burning candles, must not be placed on the unit.

• Never allow children to use this appliance unsupervised.

• Always entrust maintenance work to qualified specialist personnel.
  Otherwise you put yourself and others at risk.

• The device remains connected to the power supply even when switched off in standby mode. Unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet if you will not be using the device for a long time. Pull out only the power plug.

• Do not listen to the radio at high volume. This can lead to permanent hearing damage.

4.1 Safety instructions for lithium-ion batteries
WARNING!
The Transita 121 IR is equipped with a modern, powerful lithium-ion battery that meets all safety requirements. Due to the greater risks posed by modern batteries, please handle the device with care and observe the following safety instructions.

• If possible, charge the device in a location where there is a smoke or fire detector.
• Ensure that no flammable materials or objects are in the vicinity when charging.
• Stay close to your device when charging and do not charge it while sleeping.
• Do not charge the device outdoors, in damp areas or where very high temperatures are expected (e.g. in a garden shed or behind the windscreen in a car).

4.2 Setting up the device

• Place the unit on a hard, safe and horizontal surface. Ensure good ventilation.
• Do not place the unit on soft surfaces such as carpets, blankets or near curtains and drapes. The ventilation openings may be covered. This may  interrupt the necessary air circulation. This could potentially cause theappliance to catch fire.
• The appliance must not be covered with curtains, blankets or newspaper
• Do not place the unit near heat sources such as radiators. Avoid direct sunlight and areas with unusual amounts of dust.
• Do not choose a location in rooms with high humidity, such as the kitchen or sauna, as condensation may damage the unit. The unit is designed for use in dry environments and temperate climates and must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water.
• The device may only be used in a horizontal position.
• Do not place heavy objects on the unit.
• If you move the unit from a cold to a warm environment, moisture may condense inside the unit. In this case, wait about one hour before using it.
• The power cable should be laid in such a way that no one trips over it.
• The socket outlet should be as close as possible to the appliance.
• To connect the device to the mains, insert the plug fully into the socket.
• Use a suitable, easily accessible mains connection and avoid using multiple sockets!
• Do not touch the power supply or the plug with wet hands, risk of electric shock!
• In the event of a malfunction or smoke or odour coming from the housing, pull the plug out of the socket immediately!
• Disconnect the power cable before the storm.
• If the appliance is not going to be used for a long period of time, e.g. before going on a long journey, unplug it from the socket.
• Excessive volume, especially with headphones, can cause hearing damage.
• Do not place the unit near equipment that generates a strong magnetic field (e.g. motors, loudspeakers, transformers).

Advice on disposal

This appliance has been designed and manufactured with high-quality materials and components that are suitable for reuse. The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that the product is subject to separate collection in accordance with Directive  2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council and in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, and informs you that electrical and electronic equipment and batteries and accumulators, once used, must  not be disposed of with other household waste. The user is obliged to hand it over to the collector of waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries and accumulators forming a system for the collection of such waste, including to an appropriate  shop, local collection point or municipal unit. 6.2 Special features

• The radio receives on FM frequencies 87.5-108 MHz (analogue) and DAB+ 174-240 MHz (digital).
• You can store 10 stations each in your favourite programme locations in DAB+ and FM mode.
• Internet radio and podcasts via a Wi-Fi connection
• Playback of external sources via AUX IN input.
• Alarm function with 2 alarm times.
• Timer.
• Internal lithium-ion battery.
• Bluetooth audio streaming.

Prepare the device for operation

7.1 Telescopic antenna
The number and quality of channels received depends on the reception conditions at the installation site. Excellent reception can be achieved with a DAB+/FM telescopic antenna. To ensure the best reception, the antenna should be positioned at full length.

Lift the telescopic antenna and stretch it lengthways.
The exact positioning of the telescopic antenna is often important, especially in peripheral areas of DAB+ reception. On the Internet, for example, you can quickly find the location of the nearest transmission mast at “www.dabplus.de“.
Start your first search at the window towards the transmission tower.
In bad weather, DAB+ reception may only be possible to a limited extent.
Do not touch the telescopic antenna while listening to a station. This can lead to poor reception and audio interruptions.
The signal strength is displayed in the top right corner of the display.

7.2 Connecting the power supply/charging the battery

Connect the power supply to an electrical outlet (100 – 240 V ~, 50/60 Hz) and plug the other end of the cable into the power socket marked DC-IN (4).
Before connecting the appliance to an electrical socket, make sure that the operating voltage of the appliance corresponds to the voltage of the local electrical network.
Switch the power switch on the rear to the ON position.
When not in use, unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet.
During a storm, unplug the power supply.
If the device will not be used for an extended period of time, e.g. before going on a long journey, unplug the power supply.
The internal battery recharges during mains power.

Hinweis:
The Transita 121 IR has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that charges as soon as the radio is plugged in and switched on with the power switch. The first time it is used, the battery must be charged for approximately 12 hours. Charging ends automatically when  the battery is fully charged. The charging status is shown on the display by the battery pictogram.

When not in use, unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet. Pull the plug, not the cable. Unplug the power cord before a storm breaks out. If the appliance is not going to be used for a long time, e.g. before going on a long journey, pull the plug from the  socket. The heat generated during operation must be dissipated through adequate air circulation.
Therefore, the appliance must not be covered or stored in a closed cabinet. Make sure that there is at least 10 cm of free space around the appliance.

Basic operation

8.1 Switching on/off device
To switch on the Transit 121 IR, press the VOLUME/ON/STANDBY button (2). The radio now plays the last selected mode.
To switch it off, press the VOLUME/ON/STANDBY button (2) again. If the radio is plugged in, the display shows the date and time (standby).

8.2 Menu navigation
This usually occurs when advanced settings are made or existing settings are changed necessary to do so via the device menu. To enter the menu, press the MENU button (4).
To navigate through the menu, turn the OK/SNOOZE knob (10).
To activate/save a function or option, press the OK/SNOOZE knob. To go back one step, press the BACK button.
To exit the device menu again, press the MENU button again. Please note that not all options are available in all modes.
Use the OK/SNOOZE knob (10).
Turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise to move the highlight bar and select or toggle settings, then press the knob to confirm/save your selection or go one step further. Currently active functions or options are marked with an asterisk *.

8.3 Volume control

To change the volume, turn the VOLUME/ON/STANDBY knob.
Turn the knob clockwise to increase the volume or counterclockwise to decrease it.

8.4 Use headphones
Warning of hearing damage!
Do not listen to the radio at high volume through headphones. This can lead to permanent hearing damage. Before using headphones, set the volume of the device to minimum. If you connect headphones (not supplied), the unit’s speaker will be muted.

Only use headphones with a 3.5 mm stereo jack plug.
Insert the headphone plug into the headphone socket (2) on the back of the radio.

Sound is now only played through headphones.

If you want to listen through the speaker again, remove the headphone plug from the headphone socket on the device.

8.5 Display

Press the INFO button to browse through the various information displayed.
Depending on the selected source/channel, different information is available.
Depending on the function/source selected, the display may vary. Pay attention to the information on the display.

8.6 First configuration
When the Transit 121 IR is commissioned and switched on for the first time, a pre-configuration wizard is launched.

First select the language of the display, and when [Do now] appears on the display, > YES.
If you select NO, the wizard will end and you will need to manually enter the necessary settings.

You will now be guided step by step through the settings.

Under Time format, select the desired time display format.
In the next step, you must select the source through which you want to synchronise the time.
Then select the current time zone and whether it is currently daylight saving time or winter time (only if you have chosen to update via the Internet).

After setting the time and date, some network settings will be made.

Make sure your device is within range of the desired Wi-Fi network and you have access data. In some cases, you may need to make certain settings on your router. If this is the case, please refer to the relevant user manual.

After searching all available wireless networks, the result will be displayed.

Select the desired wireless network and confirm the selection by pressing OK/ SNOOZE .
If it is a protected network, you will be asked to enter the appropriate access key when you select Skip WPS.
To do this, select the appropriate character on the displayed keyboard by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Then enter the selected character by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.
If you check and confirm the box , you can delete the last entered sign. The field is used to cancel an entry.
Continue in this way until the entire access key is visible in the input field.
To confirm password entry, select the field .
To end the wizard when the Setup Wizard Complete message appears on the display, press the OK/SNOOZE knob .
The initial configuration can be restarted at any time from the menu. For more information, please refer to section 15.8.

8.7 Playback mode
Your device offers various methods of receiving playback. These are described in the following sections.

To switch between modes, press the MODE button repeatedly. Alternatively:
Open the main menu by pressing the MENU button. Select [Main menu] with the OK/SNOOZE knob and press the OK/SNOOZE knob. You can now select the playback source with the OK/SNOOZE knob.

DAB+ Radio

What is DAB+
DAB+ is a new digital format that allows you to hear crystal-clear sound without interference. Unlike conventional analogue radio stations, DAB broadcast multiple stations on the same frequency. These are called ensembles or multiplexes.
An ensemble consists of a radio station and several service components or data services that are individually broadcast by the radio stations. Information e.g. at www.emitel.pl.

9.1 DAB+ mode selection

To select the DAB+ mode, press the MODE button until [DAB+ Radio] appears in the display. When the radio is switched on for the first time, a full search for a DAB+ radio station is automatically carried out.

9.2 Automatic search

To carry out an automatic station search, open the menu by pressing the MENU button.
Now select the [Full search] menu item by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob and confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

The search is then started on all transponders. The progress is shown on the display.

9.3 Manual search
To check the reception strength of a single transponder and save new stations if necessary, follow these steps:

Press the MENU button and select the [Set Manually] entry by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob. Then press the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Select a channel by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob and press the OK/SNOOZE knob to display the reception strength of that channel.

9.4 Station selection

To play a station, turn the OK/SNOOZE knob until the station name appears in the display. To play back the highlighted station, press the OK/ SNOOZE knob again.
Alternatively, select a channel in MENU > [Channel List] with the OK/ SNOOZE.

9.5 Favourites
There are 10 places where you can store any DAB+ stations you want, for quick and easy access.

To save a station, do the following:

First play the desired station.
Press and hold one of the direct selection buttons 1, 2, 3 until the display shows [saved].

The station will be saved in the corresponding favourites memory 1-3. To save a station in favourites memory 4-10, perform the following steps:

Press and hold the FAV button until [Save Favourites] appears in the display.
Select a favourite memory location by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob (you can select all favourite memory locations from 1 to 10).
To save the station, press the OK/SNOOZE knob.

To call up a saved station, do the following:

Briefly press one of the direct selection buttons 1, 2, 3 to play back the stations stored there immediately
Or
Press FAV briefly to display a complete list of all favourite locations 1-10.
Select a memory location with the OK/SNOOZE knob and switch on the station by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Favourite stations from memory can be replaced by storing a new station. An empty memory space is marked [Favourite empty].

9.6 Information on stations
Some status information is transmitted to the station via DAB+. By briefly pressing the INFO button several times, this information can be toggled or displayed….

9.7 Volume control
The compression ratio compensates for dynamic fluctuations and associated volume changes.

Press the MENU button and select [Volume control] to select the desired compression level.
Select the degree of compression:
DRC high – High compression
DRC low – Low compression
DRC disabled – compression disabled.
Confirm by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

9.8 Deletion of inactive stations
Channels that cannot be received are marked in the channel list with a “?”. You can specifically delete these channels.

Press the MENU button and select [Delete inactive channels].
Confirm by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Select [Yes] and confirm by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

UKW Radio

Please also refer to the section Setting up the telescopic antenna in this operating manual.

To select the FM mode, press the MODE button until [FM Radio] appears in the display.

10.1 Set frequency manually

To change the receive frequency, turn the OK/SNOOZE knob until the desired transmit frequency appears in the display.

This sets a specific frequency by turning the dial to receive the desired station. If the frequency is set correctly, the selected station will be shown with its name on the display if it is broadcasting RDS information.
If you turn the OK/SNOOZE knob clockwise, the frequency will be increased in 0.05 MHz steps. If you turn the SCROLL/SELECT knob to the left, the frequency will be decreased in 0.05 MHz steps.

10.2 Automatic channel search
As an alternative to manual setting of the reception frequency, automatic station search is also available. The settings specified in the Search settings apply here.

Briefly press the OK/SNOOZE knob to start the search. This ends when a strong enough station is found that can be received.
Repeat the procedure to search for another station.

10.3 Use your favourites
There are 10 memory locations where any FM station can be stored, which can then be accessed quickly and easily.

To save a station, do the following:

First tune in the desired station.
Press and hold one of the direct selection buttons 1, 2, 3 until the display shows [saved].

The station will be saved in the corresponding favourites memory 1-3. To save a station in favourites memory 4-10, perform the following steps:

Press and hold the FAV button until [Save Favourites] appears in the display.
Select a favourite memory location by rotating the OK/SNOOZE knob (you can also select all favourite memory locations 1-10).
To save the station, press the OK/SNOOZE knob.

To call up a saved station, do the following:

Briefly press one of the direct selection buttons 1, 2, 3 to play back the stations stored there immediately
Or
Press FAV briefly to display a complete list of all favourite locations 1-10.
Select a memory location with the OK/SNOOZE knob and switch on the station by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Favourite stations from memory can be replaced by storing a new station. An empty memory space is marked [Favourite empty].

10.4 Settings audio
Depending on the quality of reception, stations can be played in stereo* or mono.

Open the menu and select the [Audio Settings] function using the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Confirm your selection using the OK/SNOOZE rotary button.
Select an option with the OK/SNOOZE knob
Mono only > [Yes] if the stations are to be played back with mono sound only.
Confirm your selection using the OK/SNOOZE rotary button.
If the reception quality is too poor, the station will always be played in mono.

*Please note that stereo playback on this unit is only possible via headphones.

10.5 Settings search

Select [Search Settings] in the menu and press the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Now select whether weak stations [No] or only strong stations are also to be detected during the search > [Yes] and confirm your selection by pressing the OK/ SNOOZE rotary button.
If all stations are found, weak stations with interference may also be found, as the search stops at every station that can be received.

Internet radio and podcasts

The Transita 121 IR is equipped with an internet radio/podcast receiver. A WLAN router with internet access is required to receive internet radio/podcasts.

Press the MODE button until [Internet radio] or [Podcasts] appears in the display.
If you start internet radio or podcasts for the first time without a WLAN connection set up, a search assistant will appear, displaying all the WLAN stations within range. Select your Wi-Fi network using the OK/SNOOZE rotary button and enter the appropriate  password using the keypad displayed. Then select . If the password was correct, the connection to this network will now be established. You can check whether there is a connection thanks to the signal bars in the display status bar.
To cancel an entry, select .
If you make a mistake, you can delete the last letter entered .

Once the internet connection has been successfully established, the channel list will appear. The station list displays all internet radio stations/podcasts divided into different categories.

Select a station based on category/country/genre and confirm your choice with the OK/SNOOZE knob.

11.1 Last I heard

Select MENU > [Recently listened to] to display the list of recently played stations.
Select a station with the OK/SNOOZE dial and play it back by pressing the OK/ SNOOZE.

11.2 List of programmes

Press the MENU button and select [Channel List].
All internet radio stations are displayed by various categories under the station list.
Select a station on the basis of category/country/genre and confirm your choice with OK/SNOOZE knobs.

For additional information about the currently playing station, press the INFO button.

11.3 Use your favourites
There are 10 memory locations where you can store any station you want for quick and easy access.

To save a station, do the following:

Press and hold one of the direct selection buttons 1, 2, 3 until the display shows [saved].

The station will be saved in the corresponding favourites memory 1-3. To save a station in favourites memory 4-10, perform the following steps:

Playback Bluetooth

12.1 Bluetooth mode activation

Press the MODE button until [Bluetooth Audio] appears in the display.
If the Transita 121 IR has already been paired with another device within range, the connection will be established automatically.

12.2 Pairing

Activate Bluetooth on your music player, e.g. mobile phone. B. smartphone or tablet.

Please note that only 1 device can be connected to the Transit 121 IR at a time.
Please note that to ensure excellent playback quality, the maximum Bluetooth range of 10 metres should not be exceeded.
Press the MENU button and select [Pair device]. Press the OK/SNOOZE knob. The [BT] symbol now flashes on the display and indicates that the device is ready for pairing.
Select the list of found Bluetooth devices in the external music player.
Find the Transit 121 IR entry in the list and select it. If you are asked for a PIN, enter “0000” (4x zero).
If pairing is successful, [BT] will stop flashing on the Transit 121 IR display and [connected] will briefly appear.

12.3 Playback music

Select a song in an external music player and play it.
Audio from an external device is now played through the Transit 121 IR.
Playback is also controlled via the external device.

12.4 Additional information
Using MENU > [Show details], you can view additional information about the Bluetooth connection, such as the Bluetooth version, the name of the currently connected device and a list of all previously connected devices.

AUX input

You can play audio from an external device (e.g. MP3 player, CD player, smartphone/tablet) through the unit’s speakers.

Connect the audio cable (3.5 mm jack) from the audio output of the external device to the AUX IN port (3) on the rear of the unit.
To select the AUX input, press the MODE button until [Aux-in] appears in the display.
To adjust the volume optimally, use the volume control on both the radio and the connected device. Set the volume on the connected device as high as possible, then adjust the normal volume on the Transit 121 IR. If the volume on the connected device is set  too low, you will probably hear a hissing sound on the Transit 121 IR.

Further functions

14.1 Alarm clock
The Transita 121 IR can act as an alarm clock. There are 2 programmable alarm times available, which can be set individually. The settings for alarm clock 1 will now be explained as an example. To confirm each setting step and move to the next, press the  OK/SNOOZE knob. To change the option, rotate the OK/SNOOZE knob until the desired option appears in the display.

First select with the OK/SNOOZE knob in menu > [Main menu] > [Alarm clock].
Select [Alarm 1] and press the OK/SNOOZE knob.
The alarm clock configuration is displayed. Here you can set the repeat, source, time and e.g. B. alarm volume. Review each item and then select Save at the end of the list.
Repeat: Determines when and if the alarm should repeat. The Off setting turns the alarm clock off. You also have a choice between daytime, one-off, weekend and working days. To accept the setting, press the OK/ SNOOZE knob.
Time: set the time at which the alarm clock should go off. If you previously selected [Once], after this step you must also enter the date on which the alarm clock should be active.
Mode: Select the source to be played as an alarm signal.
Programme: If you have selected Internet, DAB+ or FM radio, you can then choose whether to play the last station you heard or a station from your favourites list. Select the appropriate option and, if necessary, the channel.
Volume: Then use the OK/SNOOZE knob to select the volume of the alarm clock.
To save the alarm clock configuration, select [Save] and press the OK/SNOOZE rotary button.

The alarm clock symbol will now appear on the display.

If you want to switch the alarm clock off again later, simply select Menu > [Main menu] > [Alarm clock] > [Alarm clock 1] > [Off].

If you want the alarm clock to be switched off when you wake up, simply press the VOLUME/  ON/STANDBY knob.
To use the snooze function when the alarm is active, press the OK/SNOOZE knob. Each time you press the OK/SNOOZE knob, you can change the snooze time between 5 and 10 minutes.

14.2 Function sleep
Use the sleep function to play music for a set period of time.
When the set time has elapsed, the Transita 121 IR automatically enters standby mode.

Open the menu and use the OK/SNOOZE knob to select > [Main menu] > [Sleep].
Turn the OK/SNOOZE knob to select the time at which you want the radio to switch off. The available settings are Off, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob. The remaining time is shown on the display by a symbol in the status bar.

System settings

In the system settings you will find the multifunction settings for the device. You can access the system settings as follows:

Press the MENU button and select [Main menu] > [System settings].

15.1 Equalizer
Here you can make sound settings to adjust the sound to your liking. You can adjust the treble or bass tones and save them in the My Equalizer area or select presets.

Open the system settings menu and select > [Equalizer] with the OK/SNOOZE knob, then confirm the selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.
Turn the OK/SNOOZE knob to select a preset. You can choose between Normal, Mid, Jazz, Rock, Soundtrack, Classical, Pop, News and My EQ.
The My EQ preselection can be adjusted in [My EQ Settings]. To change it, select bass or treble. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob. The bass and treble curves can now be changed from -6 to +6 by rotating the OK/ SNOOZE knob.
The setting is saved by pressing the OK/SNOOZE button.

15.2 Time
Under [System settings] > [Time and date], you can make various time and date settings and change the display formats.

Select [Set time/date] to manually set the time and date if you do not want them to be set automatically by the Internet, DAB+ or FM. Select the appropriate value by turning the OK/SNOOZE knob. Pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob takes you one option further.
Select [Time Update] to specify from which source the time/date should be automatically updated. You can choose from:

• DAB+ update The time and date are set automatically only via DAB+
• FM update The time and date are set automatically in FM mode only
• Network update Time and date are set automatically via the Internet only
• No update The time and date must be set manually.

In [Set format], you can set the format for the time display.
In [Set time zone], you can set the device’s time zone (only if time update from NET is selected).
You specify daylight saving time and winter time using the [Daylight saving time?] setting (only if NET time update is selected).

15.3 Highlight
Under [System Settings] > [Lighting], you can adjust the brightness of the display for operation and standby mode. You can choose between high, medium and low or switch off in standby mode. The auto dimming function dims the display after set time in  standby mode. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

15.4 Language
The system language can be changed under [System settings] > [Language]. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

15.5 Settings factory settings
The system language can be changed under [System settings] > [Language]. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK/SNOOZE knob.

15.6 Software version
The currently installed software version is displayed under [System Settings]

[Information].

15.7 Settings Internet
In this menu, you will find some settings and information about your internet connection.

  Select [System Settings] > [Internet Settings] to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Select [Network Wizard] to establish a Wi-Fi connection .
The network wizard shows all Wi-Fi stations within range.
Select a known Wi-Fi network and choose Skip WPS.
Then enter the appropriate password using the keyboard displayed. Then select .
If the password was correct, the connection to this network will now be established. You can check if there is a connection thanks to the signal bars on the display status bar.

To cancel an entry, select .
If you make a mistake, you can delete the last letter entered

15.7.1 WPS connection

Select the PBC WiFi configuration if your router has the WPS 2.0 function.
This establishes a direct connection to the router without having to enter the WiFi password.
To find out how to activate the WPS function on your router, refer to its user manual.
Activate the WPS function on the router by pressing the corresponding button.
After calling up the PBC WLAN configuration function, press the OK/ SNOOZE rotary button again to establish the WPS connection. Pay attention to the information on the display.
The WPS function can also be used in the network assistant. To do this, select Press or PIN after selecting the WLAN. Otherwise, you can use Skip WPS option to enter the password manually.
To view further information about the current connection, select [Show Settings].
Select [Manual Settings] if you know your network parameters and want to configure them manually. Pay attention to the information on the display.
Select [Delete network profile] to delete connection settings that are no longer needed. All network settings can be reset in [Reset Settings].
Under [NetRemote PIN], you can set up a PIN for remote access (e.g. via TechniSat CONNECT).
Select [Allow Wi-Fi connection in standby mode] if you want the Wi-Fi connection to remain in standby mode. This setting increases power consumption, but allows control via the TechniSat CONNECT app.

15.8 configuration wizard

Press the MENU button, then select [Main menu] > [System settings] > [Configuration wizard].
When you turn it on for the first time, the configuration wizard starts automatically.
First select the language of the display, and when the display shows [Execute now],
[YES].
If you select [NO], the wizard will end and you will need to manually enter the necessary settings.

You will now be guided step by step through the settings.

Under Time format, select the desired time display format (chapter 15.2).
In the next step, you need to select from which source you want to synchronise the time (see section 15.2 for more information).
Then select the current time zone and whether it is summer or winter time.
Press the OK/SNOOZE knob to end the wizard when the Configuration Wizard completed message appears on the display.

15.9 Update software
From time to time, this may happen Software updates are provided, which may include improvements or bug fixes. This ensures that the device is always up to date. An Internet connection is required for this.

Press the MENU button, then select [System Settings] > [Software Update].
Select [Automatic update] if you want the device to periodically check for new software versions.
Select [Check now] if you want to check now if a newer software version is available.
If a software update is found, follow the on-screen instructions.
To find and download software updates, the device must be connected to the Internet. Do not switch the device off or unplug it during the update!

Cleaning device

Electrocution
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the unit with a wet cloth or under running water.
Before cleaning, disconnect the power supply and switch off the unit with the mains switch.

NOTE!
Do not use cleaners, scouring powders or solvents such as alcohol or petrol. Do not use the following substances: salt water, insecticides, solvents containing chlorine or acid (ammonia), scouring powder. Clean the housing with a soft cloth dampened with water.  Do not use solvents, spirits, thinners, etc.; they may damage the surface of the unit. Clean the display only with a soft cotton cloth. If necessary, use a cotton cloth dampened with a small amount of non-alkaline, diluted water or an alcohol-based soap solution. Gently wipe the surface with the cotton cloth until it is completely dry.

Problem-solving assistance

17.1 Problems with the radio

button.
No DAB+ signal is received.| Check whether DAB+ reception is possible in the region.  Change the orientation of the antenna. Try to receive other channels.
The sound is weak or of poor quality.| Other devices, e.g. B. Televisions interfere with reception.  Move the unit further away from these devices.
Antenna is not extended or aligned. Extend the antenna.  Rotate the antenna to improve reception.

17.2 Problems with device

supply to the radio. Turn on the  power switch.
No sound can be heard.| Turn up the volume. If you want to listen through the speakers,  disconnect the headphone plug from the device. You may have selected  the wrong source.
Noise can be heard.| A mobile phone or other device in the vicinity of the device emits harmful  radio waves. Remove the mobile phone or device from the area around  the device.
There are other operating problems, loud noises or a  disturbed display.| Electronic components of the unit are malfunctioning. Unplug the power  cord and turn off the power switch. Leave the unit unplugged from the  power source for approximately 10 seconds. Reconnect the unit.
The display does not turn on.| Switch off the appliance. Pull the plug out  of the  socket, reconnect it,  switch on the device. Check the brightness setting of the display.
