Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

  • Can this device be used outdoors?
No, this device is recommended for indoor use only due to variations in sensing accuracy caused by external factors.

  • What should I do if the device shows inaccurate readings?
Ensure the device is properly calibrated and check for factors such as moisture, wall texture, or material content that may affect accuracy.

  • Is the device waterproof?
The device is splash and water-resistant but not completely waterproof, so avoid prolonged exposure to water.

PRODUCT FEATURES

MultiScanner®

740 quickly and easily locates studs and joists behind walls, floors, and ceilings. It also locates metal as well as live AC electrical wiring. The ultrabright display screen, dual SpotLite® Pointing System, and audio tone all indicate the location of the target. The signal strength indicator helps to distinguish between shallow and deep targets.

  • StudScan mode locates the center, edges, and direction of wood or metal studs up to 3⁄4 in. (19 mm) deep
  • DeepScan® mode doubles the scanning depth to 11⁄2 in. (38 mm)
  • Metal Scan mode locates non-ferrous metal, such as copper pipe, up to 11⁄2 in. (38 mm) deep, and ferrous metal, such as rebar, up to 3 in. (76 mm) deep
  • AC Scan mode finds and traces live, unshielded electrical wire up to 2 in. (51 mm) deep
  • WireWarning® Detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wire up to 2 in. (51 mm) deep in stud and metal scan modes
  • ACT™ (Auto Correcting Technology) corrects common errors automatically, such as when scanning begins over a stud
  • Unique floating-head design keeps the scanning head flat on rough surfaces
  • Integrated, erasable marker allows for one-handed operation
