Morning session: 10am – 12.30pm
In this session you will be shown how to start your crochet by making a
foundation chain and then work the double crochet stitch in rows. *If
time/progress allows, you will also learn how to make the treble crochet
stitch in rows.
The aim of this part of the workshop is to get used to handling the hook and
yarn and to practice the basic crochet stitches; there will be no pressure to
complete a finished item but depending on progress/previous experience you may
work towards finishing something small such as a crochet square/ bookmark/jar
cover by the end of the morning.
Break for lunch (12.30-1.30approx) You can bring a packed lunch to eat in the classroom or purchase food from nearby shops/cafes.
Afternoon session: 1.30pm – 4.00pm
In this session you will build on your knowledge and learn the basics of how
to crochet in the ‘round’ to make a small circle which can be adapted to
create a flower. It may be possible to learn techniques for making other
projects in the round if time/progress allows.
Cost
£70
A hook and yarn will be provided for this course. There will be the
opportunity to purchase your hook at the end of the session should you wish
for £1.50 and the yarn for £3.
