Warnings and Advice

1. Do not place the radio close to naked flames, such as lighted candles.
2. Keep away from dripping or splashed fluids.
3. The unit should not be exposed to direct sunlight, very high or low temperatures, moisture, strong magnetic fields, high frequencies and dusty environments.
4. Do not use abrasives, benzene, thinner or other solvents to clean the surface of the unit. To clean, wipe with a clean soft cloth it and a mild detergent solution.
5. Never attempt to insert wires, pins or other such objects into the vents or openings of the unit.
6. Do not disassemble or modify the radio, there are no user serviceable parts.
7. If the radio is damaged or malfunctions do not use. Consult a qualified service engineer.

Disposal of your old appliance or battery:
Al electrical and electronic products and also batteries should be disposed of separately from household waste at an appropriate recycling point/centre.

Introduction

Your new radio receives FM and AM radio stations. It is supplied with a power adaptor for mains powering and can also be powered by 4 x AA batteries (not supplied) if you wish to make it portable.

Operation

1. Getting started
   The radio is powered either by the AG/DC power adaptor supplied plugged into a mains socket and then connected to the DC power socket (16)on the back of the radio.
   Alternatively you can fit 4 x AA batteries into the battery compartment (15) When fiting batteries make sure their polarity matches the markings in the battery compartment.

2. Setting the clock
   While stillin standby mode, long press the CLOCK button (3) and rotate the TUNING Dial (2) to select 24 Hr or 12 Hr clock setting. Press CLOCK (3) again the hour digits willflash use the TUNING Dial (2) to set the correct hour. Press GLOCK (3) again and using the TUNING Dial (2) select the minutes then press CLOCK (3).
   Before using your radio for the first time fully extend the antenna (14)

3. FM Station Scanning
   Press the STANDBY button (10) to switch on your radio, press the MODE (9) to select FM mode, long press the SCAN button (8) to start scanning for FM stations automatically. Up to twenty stations will be stored into presets.

4. Manually Storing FM Preset Stations
   Press the MODE button (9) to select FM mode rotate the TUNING dial (2) to tune to an FM station, long press the PRESET button (7). rotate the TUNING dial (2) to select one of the twenty available preset positions, press the PRESET button (7) and the station will be stored to the preset number selected.

5. FM Preset Recall: In FM mode press the PRESET button (7) to view the FM presets available, rotate the TUNING DIAL (2) to scroll through the available presets. Alternatively press the PRESET button (7) repeatedly.

6. AM Station Scanning
   Press the STANDBY button (10) to switch on your radio, press the MODE (9) to select AM mode, long press the SCAN button (8) to start scanning for AM stations automatically. Up to ten stations wil be stored into presets.

7. Manually Storing AM Preset Stations
   Press the MODE button (9) to select AM mode rotate the TUNING dial (2) to tune to an AM station, long press the PRESET button (7), rotate the TUNING dial (2) to select one of the ten available preset positions, press the PRESET button (7) and the station will be stored to the preset number selected.

8. AM Preset Recall: In AM mode press the PRESET button (8) to view the AM presets available, use the TUNING dial (2) to scroll through the available presets. Alternatively press the PRESET button (8) repeatedly.

9. Alarm/Snooze
   9a. Alarm Setting: To set ALARM1 Long press the AL 1 button (4), the hour digits will flash, use the TUNING DIAL (2) to set the hour. Press AL 1 (4) again and rotate the Tuning Dial (2) to select the minutes then press AL 1 (4) again, rotate the TUNING dial (2) to choose “buz” (buzzer) or “tun” (radio) as your alarm, press AL 1 (4) again, rotate the TUNING dial (2) to select the alarm volume (for buzzer or radio), press AL 1 (4) and rotate the TUNING dial (2) to choose OFF/ON then press AL 1 (4) a final time to set the alarm. Please note if you set the radio as your alarm the current station selected will play.
   To set ALARM2 repeat the above sequence using the AL 2.
   9b. Alarm Off: To stop the alarm press AL 1 (4) or AL 2 (5).
   9c. Snooze: Alternatively press the SLEEP/SNOOZE button (6) to delay the alarm by 9 minutes.

10. Sleep Function
    Press the SLEEP button (6) to set the radio to switch off after 10 minutes, press repeatedly to select alternative periods of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 minutes or OFF.

11. Other Features
    Tuning -/+ dial (2): To manually tune radio stations turn the dial clockwise to select higher frequency radio stations and anticlockwise to tune to lower frequency radion stations.
    Volume -/+ dial (11): Turn clockwise to increase volume, anticlockwise to reduce volume.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing problems with your FM/AM radio there are some quick and easy checks that you can o, which may help to solve the problem

is not close to microwaves, fluorescent lights or other electrical equipment which may cause interference.
No sound| Check if the volume is turned down. Increase the volume.| Check that the radio is switched on.| Try tuning to another radio station.
The radio does not turn on| The batteries are flat power adaptor is not connected/ switched on.| Replace batteries.| Check power adaptor connections and mains switch.
