Using Testing/Indicator Card
After app setup is complete, you may test your Beacon’s functionality with the supplied Testing/Indicator Card. It uses specially formulated photo-chromatic ink that is sensitive to Far- UVC 222nm exposure. As the center dot receives exposure, it will change colors that can then be matched to the visual indicators along the outside ring to determine how much dosage was received. A check mark will also appear in the center dot after the card has received 4mJ/cm2 of Far-UVC 222nm light.
Store this card at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
How to use the Testing/Indicator Card:

  1. Ensure you are a minimum of 3 feet away from Beacon – you may hold the card or use the 3m tape on the back of the card to tape it to a surface that is within Beacon’s line of sight.
  2. Make sure the center circle indicator faces toward Beacon’s light source (the front purple screen).
  3. Ensure you have Beacon set up in the app or in “manual mode,” and turned on to begin the treatment cycle.
  4.  This will take around 5-15 minutes depending on how far away you have set up the Indicator/Testing Card. Use the color code indicators surrounding the center circle exposure area to match the approximate amount of dosage received within the exposure time frame. A faint check mark will appear when dose indicator card is exposed to 4mJ/cm2 of accumulated filtered Far-UVC 222nm as shown in the following picture:beacon Chemical Free Disinfection Solution For Nursing and Senior Care - Indicator Card
  5. Retain or discard the exposed card. It cannot be reused.
