Microsoft 3107285 Gravity Smoker
Important Information
Our gravity smoker, also known as a “gravity-fed smoker” or “gravity flow smoker,” is a type of barbecue smoker that uses charcoal or wood chunks to generate heat and smoke. The unique design of our gravity smoker allows for consistent temperature control and even cooking over an extended period. Here is how our gravity smoker typically works:
-
Firebox/Charcoal Chute:
- Gravity smokers have a chute that allows charcoal to be loaded at the top, relying on gravity to feed it down slowly as it burns.
-
Fuel Loading:
- You load the fuel (charcoal, wood chunks) at the top of the chute, then latch/seal it.
-
Gravity Feed System:
- Gravity plays a crucial role in this smoker. As the charcoal or wood burns, fresh fuel is automatically fed down the chute due to gravity. This creates a continuous and consistent heat source, eliminating the need for frequent manual adjustments.
-
Temperature Control:
- Temperature control in our gravity smoker is managed by adjusting the airflow valve on the right side of the smoker and with the smokestack lid located at the very top of the cabinet. By controlling the airflow, you can adjust the temperature inside the cooking chamber.
-
Even Cooking:
o The cabinet design, coupled with the gravity-fed fuel system, ensures even cooking. Heat and smoke rise through the cooking chamber, enveloping the meat from all sides. This helps in producing consistent results across the entire cooking surface. -
Long Cooks:
- Gravity smoker is well-suited for long smoking sessions. The continuous feed of fuel and the efficient temperature control make them ideal for smoking large cuts of meat over an extended period.
How to start a fire:
-
You can use start coals in a chimney starter and pour down chute.
