No, it does not. The Slim Pen 2 connects magnetically to the bottom of Surface Laptop Studio, and wirelessly charges there. It’s a small area that’s carved out specifically for it, almost directly under the trackpad.

Yes, but it doesn’t use batteries like the other pens. You would also have to buy the stand alone charger for it to be able to charge it. With the Surface’s 8 keyboard it has a charger built into it and the Surface 8 keyboard won’t work on previous models so that’s why you would need a charger for it.
