MICROJIG GRR Ripper 2 3D Pushblock
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The GRR-RIPPER 2 GO is a true Micro Jig Innovation and part of the GRR-RIPPER
line of 3D Push blocks. It is a simple push block designed to help protect you
from injury and provide you with better quality cuts than push sticks and
feather boards can provide.
The 2 GO requires no assembly and virtually no setup to use on the table saw,
router table, jointer or band saw.
While it is simple enough for you to understand right away, it does have some
features and uses we will show you in this instructional video, so let’s get
started.

Safety
Safety 1
- Before working with any tool, read and understand the owner’s manual, and always check to make sure your tools are undamaged and set up correctly.
- Just like the rest of the GRR-RIPPER line, the 2 GO acts as your moving blade guard, keeping your fingers and hands well out of the cutting area of bits and blades.
Safety 2
Push sticks only work on the inside corner of stock, leaving it free to move
away from the rip fence during cutting. When you see tool marks along your rip
cuts, it is because the part has moved away from the fence and is rubbing
across the back teeth of the blade. This can lead to kickback.
Safety 3
The 2 GO uses Microjig’s Green Grip Material to hold stock from the top,
allowing the blade to pass underneath during cuts less than 2-1/2″ wide. It
controls both the rip side and the off-fall side of your stock, so they pass
by the back of the blade without rubbing. This greatly reduces the risk of
kickback and leaves you with a cleaner cut.
How It Works
No Assembly
- The 2 GO comes assembled and ready to make the first cut. It is a single piece so there is no set up needed between different cuts.
- For safety, the 2 GO must ALWAYS guide along the rip fence when cutting. If the blade is in the path of one of the legs, simply turn the 2 GO around and you can make the cut. The offset face shifts the legs to pass by the blade.
- The GRR-RIPPER 2 GO can rip stock as narrow as 5/16″ thick. Just be sure to check that your saw’s throat plate will support the narrow part being cut and not let it fall into the blade opening.
Color Coded Index (CCI) Sticker
- The 2 GO can be set to make any width cut from 5/16″ up without cutting the legs. But you do not even have to look to see if a leg is in the way of the blade. Our patented Color Coded Index System instantly shows which way to orient the 2GO to avoid blade contact.
- Peel the Color Coded Index sticker off the inside of the sleeve your 2 Go came in.
CCI Sticker Placement
- Apply the sticker on top of your saw’s rip fence scale. Be sure to align the zero line and either the 2-1/2″ or 70mm line to match your saw scale.
- You can trim the sticker if needed to accommodate your saw’s rip fence rail.
- Now, when you set your rip fence, the cursor will automatically show you which side of the 2 GO must be against the fence. Just make sure the color under the rip fence cursor is facing you on the GRR-RIPPER 2 GO when you set up for the cut.
2 GO Scale & Cut Green
- From 5/16″ (8mm) to 3/4″ (19mm) the Green square is under the cursor, and should be facing you on the back of the 2 GO when you cut.
- From 3/4″ (19mm) to 1-3/16″ (30mm) the Orange square is under the cursor, so the Orange square on the 2 GO body should be facing you.
- From 1-3/16″ (30mm) to 1-5/8″ (41.3mm) the Yellow square will be under the cursor and should be facing you.
2 GO Scale & Cut Blue
- And from 1-5/8″ (41.3mm) to 2-1/8″ (63.5mm) the blue squares should be under the cursor and facing you.
- At 2-1/2″ (63.5mm) or more, the cursor is above or past the Green stripes, telling you the cut is set beyond all three legs of the 2 GO.
Wood Stock Too Narrow
All three legs of your GRR-RIPPER 2 GO should be on top of the stock as you
work. This generally means ripping stock that is 2-1/8″ (63.5mm) or wider
only.
Scrap Balance
To rip stock that is narrower than 2-1/8″ (63.5mm) a scrap piece with the same
thickness as the stock being cut can be used under the outer leg(s) of the 2
GO.
Thumb Grip Position
The GRR-RIPPER 2 GO works best when held properly, with your hand wrapped
around the rear half of the handle. We added thumb points on the handle to
guide your hand position. Simply set your thumb into one of the forward
dimples on the handle, rest your palm on the handle, and wrap your fingers
around it. There are four dimples to help you grip properly with the 2 GO in
either orientation and when using your right hand or left hand.
In The Shop
Longer Stock & Using Two 2 GO
Two GRR-RIPPER 2 GOs can be used with a hand over hand technique to provide a
single, smooth cut on boards 12″ (300mm) or longer. This technique works with
longer stock on all of your machines.
2 GO On The Router
- At the router table, the GRR-RIPPER 2 GO provides excellent holding of your parts while keeping your hands away from the cutting area.
- And in those cases where the bit is exposed, the 2 GO can be positioned to bypass the cutter without damage.
2 GO On The Jointer
The superior traction of our Green Grip Material™ on the 2 GO makes it ideal
for use on the jointer and the bandsaw, guiding your stock securely and
safely.
MATCHFIT Compatible
The GRR-RIPPER 2 GO includes four molded in Dovetail Grooves to work with our MATCH Fit Dovetail System. These allow for all sorts of custom shop made accessories to be easily attached to the 2 GO using our standard Dovetail Hardware such as the simple trailing hook shown. microjig.com/matchfit
