IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
DANGER – Any appliance is electrically live even when the switch is off. To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
- Always unplug the appliance immediately after use and before cleaning.
- Do not place or store appliances where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
- Do not place in or drop into water or other liquids.
- Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into the water. Unplug immediately.
- Use only in a dry area.
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING – The polyethylene bags over the product or its packaging may be dangerous. Keep these bags out of the reach of babies and children. Never use bags in cribs, children’s beds, strollers, or playpens. The thin film may cling to the nose and mouth and prevent breathing. A bag is not a toy.
WARNING – Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins, or other containers filled with water.
- Use the appliance only for its intended use.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance. Take it to a qualified service person for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used.
- Do not use the unit if it has fallen or if it appears to be damaged.
- Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave the appliance unattended while plugged in.
- Unplug the unit immediately if you have problems when using it.
- Unplug the unit after each use and before filling or cleaning it.
- This unit is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or by persons who lack experience or knowledge unless they are supervised or have been given instructions beforehand on the use of the unit by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they do not treat the unit like a toy.
- Allow the unit to cool before storing.
- Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the appliance cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around the appliance when storing.
- When emitting steam, this appliance may cause burns if it is used too close to the skin or eyes, or if it is used incorrectly. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitting from the steam vents, test appliance before use by holding it away from the body.
- Do not steam, iron or press garments while a person is wearing them.
- Burns could occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use care when you turn a steam appliance upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
- Do not operate the steamer without correctly filling the water tank. Only use clean cold water for filling this appliance. We recommend the use of distilled or purified cold water only.
- To reduce the likelihood of circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
- The use of an extension cord is not recommended. If an extension cord is necessary, a 13-ampere cord should be used. A cord rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
- Never yank the cord to disconnect from the outlet, instead, grasp the plug and pull to disconnect.
- Use caution when carrying a steamer, as it may contain hot water.
- Always disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
NOTE: When first using the device, it is recommended to test it on an old cloth or to operate the steamer for 5 minutes, as there may be sediment left from the manufacturing process. Then unplug the unit and allow it to cool. Empty the container and refill it before actually using it on your garments.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR STEAMER
IMPORTANT FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
GETTING STARTED
-
Plug the unit into an outlet. Make sure that no other high-wattage appliances are plugged into the same circuit.
-
Turn on by pressing the power button. The white indicator light will blink for 30 seconds and then become solid when the appliance is ready to use.
WARNING: When pressing and ironing delicate fabrics, we recommend moistening the fabric beforehand or putting a damp cloth between the unit and the fabric. To avoid staining, do not moisten silk or synthetic fabrics.
TO IRON -
Lay your garment on a flat surface.
-
Use the unit in the locked position (plates closed) for ironing. Squeeze the middle of the unit to close the plates. Slide the locking button to the locked position. Use caution as the plates may be hot. Position the unit over the area to be pressed and press down using short strokes.
TO PRESS TWO SIDES AT ONCE
You can take advantage of the two heated aluminium plates on the interior of the unit to simultaneously press two sides of a garment. -
If plates are locked, unlock them by sliding the lock button to the unlocked position. Use caution as the plates may be hot.
-
Place a section of your garment between the two heated plates, trapping it by squeezing the middle of the unit so that the plates come together. While maintaining the tension, slowly pull the unit to the edge of the garment. At the edge, release the pressure on the handle and repeat the process on additional sections of the garment until wrinkles are removed. It may be necessary to repeat the process on certain sections to achieve the look you want. The slower you pull, the fewer passes your garment will require.
TO STEAM -
With the unit unplugged and cool, remove the water tank by gripping it and pulling it straight out.
-
Add cold distilled or purified water to the water tank until it is filled (up to 50 ml).
-
Return the water tank back to the unit.
-
Plug in the unit and press the power button. The white Power/Ready Indicator Light will blink for 30 seconds and then become solid when the appliance is ready to use.
-
Press the Normal Steam button and a regular amount of steam will come out of the plates. For tough wrinkles, press the Turbo Steam button for turbocharged steam.
-
Hang up the garment and position the closed/locked unit with the exterior ceramic plates facing the area to be steamed. Move the unit back and forth in slow, short movements without touching the material. Repeat until wrinkles have been removed.
-
Press the Normal or Turbo Steam button again to stop the flow of steam.
TO STEAM IRON OR STEAM PRESS -
To add the power of steam while ironing or pressing, just follow steps #7, #8, #9, and #10 prior to ironing or pressing and steps #11 and #13 while ironing or pressing.
STEAMING TIPS
CAUTION: First, test unit on an inconspicuous area of the item to be steamed to ensure fabric can tolerate its effect. If there is no evidence of damage, you may proceed to use the steamer on that item.
-
Hang up the garment or fabric item.
NOTE: Avoid using metal clothes hangers, if possible. -
Hold fabric taut with one hand and the steamer with the other. Pass the steam jets just above the wrinkled fabric. It may take a few passes to remove the wrinkles completely.
CAUTION: If garment is to be steamed while hanging on a door, use caution by protecting the door from potential damage that could be caused by the steam. -
After use, turn off the steam button, then the power button. With dry hands, unplug your Steam Stylist from the outlet. BE SURE TO PRESS THE POWER BUTTON PRIOR TO UNPLUGGING THE UNIT. Carefully empty any remaining water from the tank to avoid leakage.
CLEANING
Please Note: Before cleaning the Steam Stylist in any way, make sure that the appliance plug is not connected to an outlet. Any deposits or starch residue left on the plates can be removed using a damp cloth or a nonabrasive liquid detergent after the plates have cooled. Avoid scratching the plates with steel wool or metallic objects. The plastic parts of the appliance can be cleaned with a damp cloth, then wiped with a dry cloth.
HOW TO STORE
- Disconnect the plug of the Steam Stylist from the wall outlet.
- Let the unit cool down completely.
- Remove the water reservoir and empty any remaining water. Do not return the reservoir to the unit until it’s completely dry.
