Getting Started
Let’s start by plugging in your phone by following the instructions below.

Basic Troubleshooting
Having difficulty getting your device to work? Follow these basic instructions
for a quick fix.
Check that the correct date and time is showing on the screen Check internet
connection is working and phone is connected Check cable from internet router
is connected to LAN port at the back of phone
Error message displayed? Factory reset the HDV Desk Handset:
Press Setup or Settings. Press # (the hash key) and Dial 136 Select Factory
Reset. Confirm and select Enter. Be aware that it may take up-to-ten-minutes
for your phone to complete the reset process.

Ensure your firewall is set up for optimal VoIP calls by applying recommended

Quick Tips
This section will give you handset tips and tricks to help you manage calls
more efficiently.
Transferring a Call
Using your HDV Desk Handset, follow the instructions below to transfer a call
to another user:
Press Transfer during a call. Dial the number or extension of the party you
wish to transfer the call to. Press Enter then OK Press Transfer or OK Wait
until the other party answers to announce the transfer (this step can be
omitted)
Note: While transferring on the KX-HDV230, if your chosen transfer recipient
does not answer, you may need to reselect that line and manually end the phone
call before returning to your original call. Failure to do this may leave a
blank voice message on the transfer recipient’s line.
Holding a Call
Using your HDV Desk Handset, place a call on hold by following the
instructions below.
To place a caller on Hold, press Hold and put the receiver on-hook To retrieve
a call on hold at your extension.
To place a caller on Hold, press Hold and put the receiver on-hook – KX-
HDV130: Press Hold. – KX-HDV230: Press the green flashing flexible button.
Note: If a call is not retrieved within a specified time, you will hear an
alarm
as a reminder.

1. Enter: Confirm selected item.
2. Main LCD: See Main Display on [Page Number]
3. Soft Keys: A/B/C (left-to-right) are used to selected bottom-line display items.
4. Navigator Key: The four directional key located below Soft
Keys are used to move the cursor and select an item. If in
standby mode, pressing the keys performs the following:
Left: Used to display Incoming Call Log*1
Right:
Used to open the Phonebook.
Down:
Hold to display line status.

6. Ringer / Message Waiting / Missed Call Indicator: Phone lamp flashes.
7. Program Keys: Used to perform assigned function. When assigned as a Line Status key, it can be used to confirm a line’s status. Programmed keys can be modified from the Unified Communications Portal.
8. Handset Wall Mount: Stabilizes the handset while mounted to a wall
9. Headset Jack: Optional headsets can be used using the phone jack.
10. Message: Used to access your Voicemail Mailbox.
11. Redial: Redial the last dialled number.

18. SP-Phone: Used to place your handset on hands-free
mode. 19. Transfer: Transfer a call to another party. 20. Conference: Create a
multi-party conversation. 21. Page Key: Used to switch the page of program
keys
displayed on the self-labelling LCD. There are two pages of 12 program keys.
22. Self-labelling LCD: Details about the self-labelling LCD can be found on
=[#Page]. 23. DSS Keys [01 20] (Function Keys1)2: Used to switch the page
of DSS Keys displayed on the KX-HDV20 selflabelling LCD. There are two pages
of DSS Keys. 24. DSS Page Keys*2: Used to switch the page of DSS Keys
displayed on the KXHDV20 self-labelling LCD. There are two pages of 20 DSS
keys.

Enabling Hands Free Mode
You can enable hands-free mode in one of the following ways:

All handsets have adjustable volume.

Making a Call
Dialling Manually
Go Off-Hook from Standby Mode.
Using the keypad on the handset, enter the number of the contact wish to call.

Making a Conference Call
Follow the instructions below to set configure conference call preference.

Upon receiving a voice message, Message displays and the Ringer Lamp turns

Call Forwarding/Do Not Disturb:
You can have incoming calls automatically forwarded to another destination.

Phonebook Management
The following section will teach users quick Phonebook Management tips.
Adding a New Phonebook Entry
Users can add up-to-500 phonebook entries. Press Using the navigation arrows,
scroll to and select Enter Name (24 characters max), then press Use the
navigation arrows to select the phone number type (1 to 5) and press If you
select number type, enter the phone number (32 digits max) and press Press
Repeat to add another.
