FAQ

    Any helmet that has experienced an impact should be replaced, even if no visible damage is present. Handle the helmet with care and have it inspected by an authorized dealer.

    Avoid applying stickers and paints to the helmet as they can compromise its safety features. Stick to original accessories and parts suitable for your specific helmet model.

  • Before using the helmet read this booklet and all enclosed documents carefully, in that they contain very important indications on how to use the helmet easily and safely. We recommend you to store it for future reference.
  • Failure to observe these instructions may reduce the protection provided by the helmet and consequently put your safety at risk.
  • Do not operate or act in such a way that could compromise or reduce the protection provided by the helmet.

CHOICE AND VERIFICATION OF HELMET

WARNING
To exploit the whole protection offered by the helmet, choose the correct size for your head, adjust the retention system correctly and check the taking off.

SIZE

  1. In order to determine the correct helmet size, try on helmets of different sizes and choose the one which suits best the shape of your head and which you feel firm once worn and fastened, thus ensuring a great comfort.
  2. Should the helmet be too big, it may slide down to cover the eyes or turn slowly to the side while riding.
  3. Keep it on for a few minutes and make sure there are no points of extreme pressure that may cause pain or headache.

RETENTION SYSTEM

  1. The retention system (strap) is factory-adjusted at a standard length. Before use (see relevant instructions) check that it is correctly pre-adjusted.
  2. Make sure the strap is properly fastened and tightened so as to keep the helmet firmly in place.Anyway, before riding, make sure that the strap is well fastened under the chin, as close as possible to the throat, but without being uncomfortable.
  3. The correct strap tension should allow normal breathing and swallowing, but without leaving the space of a finger between strap and throat.
    WARNING
    The button which may be present on the strap only prevent its end from flapping once the strap has been fastened properly.

TAKING OFF

  1. With the helmet on and the strap securely fastened, try to take the helmet off as shown in fig- ure (A). In case of accident, the different forces at stake and their various directions may result in helmet rotations or they may even cause the helmet to take off if it is not securely fastened.
  2. The helmet should not rotate nor move on the head and should not slide off. Should the contrary happen, adjust strap length or change helmet size. Repeat test.

USING THE HELMET

  • The helmet is specifically designed for motorcycle and motorbike use. Therefore, it must not be used for different purposes (or different reasons or operations) since, in such cases, it would not guarantee the same protection.
  • In case of accident, the helmet represents a protective element, which reduces injuries and head damage. Nevertheless, no helmet can guarantee total safety. The helmet reduces the risk or the gravity of injuries in case of accidents, but the degree of some impacts and the different circumstances may exceed helmet protection. Therefore, ride safely.
  • When riding any motorcycle, always wear the helmet properly fastened in order to fully exploit its protection.
  • Never wear scarves under the fastening system nor caps of any sort under the hel-met.
  • The helmet can muffle traffic noises. However make sure that you can hear essential sounds such as horns and emergency vehicle sirens.
  • Always keep the helmet away from heat sources like the exhaust muffler, the top box housing or the interior of a vehicle.
  • Do not modify and/or tamper with the helmet (even partially) for any reason: any modifications and/or alterations compromise the safety requirements of the helmet and impair its protection degree. These also make the helmet no longer conform to the homologation standards, mak-ing it unusable and invalidate the warranty.
  • Avoid contact between the helmet and gasoline and other solvents; do not apply adhesives or paints to the helmet.
  • Helmet damages resulting from accidental falls may not be visible, and any helmet that has been impacted has to be replaced. Always handle your helmet carefully in order not to com-promise or reduce its protection degree.
  • If the visor and/or sunscreen that may be present in the helmet are damaged and/or have marked scratches that reduce visibility, their protective treatment has likely been compro-mised, and therefore they must be replaced.
  • The visor and/or sunscreen that may be present in the helmet can only be used with the helmet model for which they were designed.
  • Use only original accessories and/or spare parts suitable for your specific helmet model.
  • In case of doubt about the helmet’s integrity and/or safety, avoid using it and contact an au-thorized dealer to have it checked.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF THE HELMET

WARNING

  • The helmet and its components may be seriously damaged by some common substances without the damage being visible. Use only lukewarm water and mild soap for maintenance and cleaning operations; dry at room temperature away from the sun and/or heat sources.
  • Never use petrol, thinner, benzene, solvents or other chemical substances, paints, and adhe-sives for maintenance and cleaning operations. These can irreparably damage the helmet and its components, modify its optical properties, reduce its mechanical properties and weaken the protective treatment of the visor and/or sunscreen that may be present in the helmet.

PEAK

  • The peak can be adjusted in different positions by turning it upwards or downwards (Fig.1).
  • When riding on the road, the peak should be adjusted to the highest “0”position (Fig.1)

ADJUSTMENT

  1. Loosen the tightness of the upper central threaded cover plate “A” by turning it counter-clockwise (Fig.2).
  2. Turn the peak around the side cover plates “B” to adjust it to the desired position (Fig.1).
  3. Lock the peak in the desired position by tightening the upper central threaded cover plate “A” (Fig.2).

DISASSEMBLY

  1. Release the bayonet side cover plates “B” by turning them by 90° so that the peak side ends are detached from the helmet shell (Fig.3). Be careful not to lose the two trims placed between the peak and the shell, which should remain fastened to the cover plates (Fig.4).
  2. Completely unscrew the upper central threaded cover plate “A” by turning it counter- clockwise (Fig.2). Then remove the peak from the helmet.

ASSEMBLY
Check that the side cover plates “B” and the corresponding internal trims are properly fastened to the peak as originally (Fig.4).

  1. Place the peak on the shell; then insert the upper central threaded cover plate “A” into the corresponding threaded hole and screw it in, turning it clockwise without tightening it completely (Fig.2).

  2. Insert the left side cover plate “B” into its corresponding housing on the shell and lock it by turning it by 90°. Then repeat the operation on the other side of the helmet (Fig.3).

  3. Complete the adjustment of the peak position as per the instructions above.
    WARNING

    • Make sure that the cover plates and their internal trims, which are interposed between the peak and the helmet shell, allow the peak to be kept steady in the desired position.
    • Do not use the helmet if the peak has not been assembled and properly adjusted.
    • Do not assemble the peak without the cover plate internal trims.
    • The peak should always be assembled over the visor.
    • When the peak is assembled, check that the visor is working properly by opening and closing it completely.
    • The peak is equipped with internal spacers to reduce the risk of damaging the visor during the last stage of its opening; do not remove these spacers from the peak.
    • In case of malfunctioning or damage, please contact a Nolangroup authorised dealer.
    • Do not remove the side mechanisms from the shell.

VISOR (XFS-03)

DISASSEMBLY
To disassemble the visor, first remove the peak, if assembled (see instructions above).

  1. Open the visor completely.
  2. Push the release lever of the left side mechanism downwards until its limit stop (Fig.5) and simultaneously pull the visor away from the helmet by pushing the visor inner pin out of the mechanism central housing (Fig.6).
  3. Follow the previous operations on the right side of the helmet.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Place the visor left side on the corresponding side mechanism by inserting the visor inner pin into the mechanism central housing (Fig.6).

  2. Press the visor at the side mechanism until you hear a fastening click.

  3. Follow the previous operations on the right side of the helmet.

  4. Close the visor completely.
    WARNING

    • Check that the mechanisms are working properly. Open and close the visor, checking that the latter is held in place in its different positions by the mechanisms. If necessary, follow the previous operations mentioned above.
    • Do not use the helmet if the visor has not been properly assembled.
    • Never remove the side mechanisms from the shell.
    • Should any of the side mechanisms fail or be damaged, please contact a Nolangroup authorised dealer.

(XFS-03)

(Available as standard or accessory/spare part)

ASSEMBLY

  1. Disassemble the visor (see instructions above).

  2. Make sure that the inner surface of the visor is clean and check that the pin adjustment external levers are turned inwards (Fig.7).

  3. Place the PINLOCK® inner visor on the visor.
    The silicone profile of the PINLOCK® inner visor should be in contact with the inner surface of the visor.

  4. Insert one side of the PINLOCK® inner visor onto one of the two visor pins and hold it in position (Fig.8).

  5. Widen the visor and fasten the other side of the PINLOCK® inner visor to the other pin (Fig.9).

  6. Release the visor.

  7. Remove the protective film from the PINLOCK® inner visor and check that the entire silicone profile of the inner visor adheres to the visor.

  8. Assemble the visor on the helmet (see instructions above).

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE STRETCH
Check that the PINLOCK® inner visor has been correctly assembled by opening and closing the visor and ensuring that they do not move with respect to each other. Should the PINLOCK® inner visor not be tightly fixed to the visor, simultaneously move, gradually and not excessively, both external adjustment levers turning them upwards, to increase the stretch (Fig.7). The maximum stretch is achieved when the pin adjustment external levers are placed outwards.
WARNING

  • Dust between the two visors may cause both surfaces to scratch.
  • Scratched PINLOCK® visors and inner visors may cause reduced visibility and should therefore be replaced.
  • Regularly check the correct stretch of the PINLOCK® inner visor to prevent it from moving and scratching both surfaces.
  • If, in use, the helmet visor fogs up and/or condensation forms between the visors, check that the PINLOCK® inner visor is both properly assembled and stretched
  • An excessive and early stretch of the PINLOCK® inner visor may result in excessive adherence against the visor surface and/or permanent deformations with subsequent inability to properly perform future adjustments.
  • Intense sweating/breathing, use in particular weather conditions (low temperatures, and/or high humidity and/or sudden changes in temperature and/or heavy rain) and/or intense and prolonged use may affect the performance of the PINLOCK
    ® inner visor, causing fogging or condensation formation. In such cases, to restore the system efficiency after using the helmet, remove the PINLOCK® inner visor from the helmet visor and leave it to dry in warm and dry air. The same procedure should be applied to the helmet, which should be left to dry to remove any humidity that may have formed as a result of the conditions described above.

DISASSEMBLY

  1. Disassemble the visor equipped with the PINLOCK® inner visor (see instructions above).
  2. Widen the visor and release the PINLOCK® inner visor from the pins (Fig.9).
  3. Release the visor.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  • Disassemble the PINLOCK® inner visor from the visor. Using a damp and soft cloth, gently clean it with mild liquid soap. Remove all soap under running water.
  • Leave the visor to dry in warm and dry air without wiping it.
  • To preserve the visor’s condition over time, leave the helmet to dry in a ventilated and dry place with the visor open after use. Keep it away from heat sources and store it in a place away from direct light.
  • Do not use solvents or chemical products.

VISION PROTECTION SYSTEM (VPS) – (VPS-16)

The exclusive inner VISION PROTECTION SYSTEM (VPS) is a LEXAN™ (*) polycarbonate moulded sunscreen with scratch-resistant/fog-resistant treatment. It is very simple and practical to use: just lower it to activate it or lift it to remove it from your field of vision. It is useful in all sorts of situations, both on long journeys out of town and shorter town trips.
Moreover, the fastening system allows you to assemble and disassemble the sunscreen for ordinary maintenance and cleaning, using no tools.

OPERATION
The VPS mechanism allows you to activate the sunscreen by simply lowering it until the visor field of vision is partially covered. In this way, the light transmittance is reduced as desired. At any time, without operating the visor, the VPS can be deactivated with a simple movement and easily lifted up to restore the normal conditions of visibility and protection guaranteed by the approved helmet visor.

  1. To activate the VPS, move the slider as in Fig.10A until you hear a click, confirming that the VPS is in the desired position. The VPS is adjustable in a range of intermediate positions to ensure the best comfort for the user with respect to the terms of use.
  2. To deactivate the VPS, move the slider as in Fig.10B.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Current homologation standards (ECE22-06) establish that the minimum light transmittance levels of visors should be no less than 80%; for homologated sunscreens, the minimum transmittance level should be no less than 20%.
This regulation also provides for the simultaneous use of the visor and sunscreen, both as standard.
WARNING

  • We recommend you to use the VPS only and solely together with the homologated standard visor, which has a transmittance value greater than 80%.
  • The VPS does not replace the protection guaranteed by the visor.
  • The VPS can only be activated during daytime and in weather and environmental conditions with a particular light, for example, strong brightness caused by high intensity and/or incidence of sunlight.
  • At night and/or in conditions of poor visibility, the VPS should be deactivated.
  • Should sunglasses and/or photochromic lenses be used, the VPS should be deactivated.
  • Always check that the VPS is properly placed according to the different weather/ environmental conditions and/or to the above mentioned recommendations for use.
  • Use the special slider to activate/deactivate the VPS; do not deactivate the VPS by handling it directly.
  • Always check that the VPS is clean and that it is properly working in order to avoid scratches and/or anomalous wear on it every time it is activated.
  • As for VPS and visor maintenance and cleaning operations, please refer to the appropriate section in the helmet user’s manual.
  • The VPS scratch-resistant/fog-resistant treatment highly reduces fogging. However, protracted periods of adverse weather and/or environmental conditions might cause fogging and/or formation of condensation on the VPS, which entails a reduction of visibility and/or sharpness of vision: in this case, deactivate the VPS.
  • In case of rain, the direct contact of raindrops with the scratch-resistant/fog-resistant treated VPS quickly reduces sharpness of vision, thus causing scarce visibility: in this case, deactivate the VPS.
  • The special VPS fog-resistant treatment is usually sensitive to high temperatures or heat sources. In this case, contaminations caused by contact with other materials might occur. These contaminations will cause marks and stains to come out. In these cases (e.g., when the helmet is kept in the top case on hot days), it is recommended that the VPS does not come into contact with other materials.

DISASSEMBLY

  1. Open the helmet visor and lower the VPS completely (see instructions above).
  2. Hold the left lateral part of the sunscreen and pull it towards the helmet outside (Fig.11).
  3. Follow the same operation on the right side of the helmet.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Open the helmet visor completely and move the side slider until the limit stop (see instructions above) (Fig.10A).

  2. Check that the right side guide is placed downward (Fig.12); insert the sunscreen right end into the guide until it is fully fastened to the shell housing.

  3. Insert the sunscreen left end into the left side guide until it is fastened to the shell housing (Fig.11).
    WARNING

    • Check that the VPS is properly working by activating and deactivating it (see instructions above). If necessary, follow the previous operations mentioned above.
    • Should the VPS opening and closing mechanisms fail or be damaged, please contact a Nolangroup authorised dealer.
    • Do not use the helmet if the VPS has not been properly assembled.
    • Since the VPS does not assure you the same protection as the one provided by the visor, it has to be used only when the helmet visor is lowered.

REMOVABLE INNER COMFORT PADDING

  • The removable comfort padding consists of:
    • liner
    • side cheek pads (right and left)
    • strap covering
  • All components can be completely removed and washed.
  • The cheek pads are also characterised by removable inner expanding foam padding.
  • To remove and/or assemble the comfort padding, deactivate the VPS and open the visor completely (see instructions above).

DISASSEMBLING THE CHEEK PADS

  1. Open the chin strap (see specific instructions).
  2. Gently pull the red strap in the front area of the padding of the left cheek pad to release the safety lever placed on its rear part (Fig.13).
  3. Hold the front part of the padding of the left cheek pad and turn it upwards to release the front hook and the two snap fasteners, front and top respectively, located at its rear part (Fig.14).
  4. Pull the rear of the padding of the left cheek pad towards the inside of the helmet to release the rear snap fastener placed on its rear part (Fig.15).
  5. Remove the rear tab of the comfort padding of the left cheek pad from the cavity between the rear trim and the polystyrene inner shell; then completely remove the cheek padding from the helmet (Fig.16).
  6. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding. Do not remove the polystyrene cheek pads from the helmet shell.

DISASSEMBLING THE INNER EXPANDING FOAM PADDING OF THE CHEEK PADS
To facilitate the washing of the inner comfort padding components, the cheek pads of the helmet are equipped with inner expanding foam padding that can be removed from the fabric lining. To remove the padding, proceed as follows after disassembling the cheek pads from the helmet (see instructions above).

  1. Slightly remove the inner expanding foam padding from the fabric lining of the left cheek pad (Fig.17).
  2. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding.
    Warning: once the expanding foam inner paddings have been removed from the cheek pads, make sure that the rear snap button “D”, the front and top snap buttons “C”, the hook “A” and the NERS safety lever “B” are properly fastened to the rear frame of the fabric lining of the cheek pads (Fig.18); otherwise place them again appropriately.

DISASSEMBLING THE CHIN STRAP COVERING
To remove the chin strap covering from the strap, proceed as follows after removing the cheek pads from the helmet (see instructions above).

  1. Pull the left strap covering at the “hook and loop fastener” to separate it from the chin strap and then remove it (Fig.19A).
  2. Follow these operations with the right strap covering.

DISASSEMBLING THE LINER

  1. Release the left rear tab of the liner from the shell rear edge by slightly pulling the comfort padding inwards (Fig.20). Then follow the same operation with right rear tab.
  2. Remove the adjustment tab from the rear cavity between the outer shell and the polystyrene inner shell.
  3. Pull the comfort padding rear towards the inside of the helmet to release the two side buttons located at its rear from their housings on the rear support, which is fixed to the polystyrene inner shell (Fig.21).
  4. Hold the liner left front and pull it upwards in order to remove the corresponding liner tab from the support fixed to the polystyrene inner shell (Fig.22). Then follow the operation with central front and right tabs.
  5. Completely remove the comfort padding from the helmet.

ASSEMBLING THE LINER

  1. Insert the liner properly into the helmet and have it well fitted against the base.

  2. Insert the liner left front tab into the corresponding housing on the support fixed to the polystyrene inner shell and push it downwards until it is completely fastened.
    Then follow the operation with central and right tabs (Fig.22).
    Warning: check the correct assembly of the liner front area by lifting and lowering the VPS, that should be able to move freely. If not, repeat the operations 4.4, and 5.2.

  3. Fasten the two side buttons on the back of the comfort padding rear part to the their corresponding housings on the rear support fixed to the polystyrene inner shell (Fig.21).

  4. Insert the liner adjustment tab into the rear cavity between the outer shell and the polystyrene inner shell.

  5. Insert the liner rear right and left tabs into their corresponding housings of the shell edge (Fig.20). Push the tabs until they are fully fastened onto the support.

ASSEMBLING THE CHIN STRAP COVERING
The right and left chin strap covering are different from each other (Fig.19B).

  1. After identifying the left covering strap, insert the chin strap release mechanism inside of it at the free end of the “hook and loop fastener” until it comes completely out from the central slot. Press the strap free end over the chin strap band at the “hook and loop fastener” and pull the strap to stretch it completely (Fig.19A).
  2. Follow these operations with the right strap covering.
  3. Check that the straps are secured by gently pulling them towards the inside of the helmet.
  4. If the release mechanism is the D-Ring type, check that the anti-fluttering snap button on the left strap only is correctly placed past the two “D-rings” (Fig.19B).

ASSEMBLING THE INNER EXPANDING FOAM PADDING OF THE CHEEK PADS

  1. Gently insert the inner expanding foam padding inside the left cheek pad fabric lining (Fig.17). Carefully stretch the padding while checking that there are no creases in the cheek pad fabric lining.
  2. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding.

ASSEMBLING THE CHEEK PADS
Warning: take the padding of the left cheek pad and make sure that the rear snap button “D”, the front and top snap buttons “C”, the hook “A” and the NERS safety lever “B” are correctly fastened to the rear frame of the fabric lining of the cheek pad (Fig.18). Furthermore, check that the NERS lever is free to turn; then, place the lever in the opening position.

  1. Insert the rear tab of the comfort padding of the left cheek pad into the cavity between the rear trim and the polystyrene inner shell (Fig.16).

  2. Insert the chin strap into the cavity in the cheek pad and press near the rear snap button located at its rear to fasten it to the corresponding housing on the polystyrene cheek pad (Fig.15).

  3. Press the padding of the left cheek pad against the polystyrene cheek pad and simultaneously turn it inwards to fasten the front hook placed on its rear part (Fig.14).

  4. Press at the two snap fasteners, front and top respectively, to fasten them to the polystyrene cheek pad corresponding housings.

  5. Press the safety lever upwards at the fastening area of the red strap to turn it towards the cheek pad padding until it reaches its closing position (Fig.13).

  6. Check whether the fasteners and hooks are correctly fastened by slightly pulling the pad of the cheek pad towards the inside of the helmet and checking whether it remains adherent to the polystyrene cheek pad.

  7. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding.
    WARNING

    • If your helmet is equipped with the D-Ring retention system, close it as described in the attached D-Ring instruction label.
    • Remove the inner comfort padding only when cleaning or washing is required.
    • Never use the helmet if all parts of the inner comfort padding have not been properly and correctly reassembled.
    • Carefully wash by hand and use only mild soap and water at 30° C max.
    • Rinse using cold water and dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
    • Never machine-wash the inner comfort padding.
    • The inner polystyrene is an easily deformable material. It is intended to change or get partially destroyed to help absorb shocks.
    • Do not modify or alter the internal polystyrene components in any way.
    • Clean the inner polystyrene components using a damp cloth only and allow them to dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight.
    • Never use tools or equipment to carry out the operations described above.

LINER POSITIONING CONTROL (LPC)

ADJUSTING THE LINER POSITION
The different anatomic shape of riders heads at times requires the position of the helmet to be adapted to the specific head. The LINER POSITIONING CONTROL (LPC) enables the position of the liner to be adjusted. This means that, unlike a standard helmet, the position of the helmet on the rider’s head can be changed without changing the size of the helmet, making it adaptable to multiple needs.
To adjust the liner, proceed as follows after releasing the liner rear part (see instructions above).

  1. Release the liner adjustment rear tab from the central locking pin on the liner rear frame (Fig.23).

  2. Pull the adjustment rear tab and fasten it to the central pin in one of the other 7 possible click positions.
    By pulling the liner adjustment rear tab, the helmet is gradually positioned higher on the head, click after click.

  3. Fully reassemble the liner into the helmet (see instructions above) being careful to properly insert the adjustment tab into the cavity between the outer shell and the polystyrene inner shell.

  4. Put on the helmet and check that the helmet is comfortable and suitably positioned. If not, adjust it again.
    WARNING
    After adjusting the position of the liner, put on and fasten the helmet to check the correct adjustment of the chin strap (see attached label). Check also the correct helmet fit on your head in riding position setup, as well as its easy taking off – see “CHOICE AND VERIFICATION OF THE HELMET” instructions above.

EYEWEAR ADAPTIVE

CREATING SPACE FOR GLASSES

  1. Remove the left cheek pad from the helmet (see instructions above).

  2. Remove the inner expanding foam cheek padding (see instructions above).

  3. Remove the upper part of the pre-punched inner padding (Fig.24), then properly reposition the remaining part of the padding in the cheek pad.
    It is recommended that you keep the removed padding for any subsequent reuse.

  4. Assemble the inner expanding foam cheek padding (see instructions above).

  5. Reassemble the full cheek pad on the helmet (see instructions above).

  6. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding.

REMOVING SPACE FOR GLASSES

  1. Remove the left cheek pad from the helmet (see instructions above).
  2. Remove the inner expanding foam cheek padding (see instructions above).
  3. Properly insert part of the previously removed padding into the cheek pad fabric lining (Fig.24).
  4. Reassemble the full cheek pad on the helmet (see instructions above).
  5. Follow these operations with the right cheek pad padding.

NOLAN EMERGENCY RELEASE SYSTEM (NERS)

  • The Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS) allows the emergency services to remove the cheek pads from the helmet while it is still on the rider’s head.

  • To remove the padding of the left cheek pad from the helmet, unfasten the chin strap and then pull the red strap placed in the front area of the padding, as shown in Fig.25.

  • The safety lever placed on the rear of the cheek pad padding will first detach and then, while continuing to pull the red strap, the padding will release from the polystyrene and gradually turn outwards from the helmet, leaving its side area free.

  • Repeat the same operation on the right side of the helmet, which can then be more easily removed from the rider’s head.
    WARNING

    • Never pull the red straps of the Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS) while riding.
    • Always check that the cheek pads are properly assembled. After using the Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS), check that the cheek pads are not damaged and reassemble them following the instructions above.
    • Do not use the Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS) for routine cheek pad maintenance and cleaning.
    • Do not remove the stickers shown in Fig.26 from the helmet as they could provide useful information to the emergency services.
    • Should the Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS) fail or be damaged, please contact a Nolangroup authorised dealer.
    • Use the Nolan Emergency Release System (NERS) for providing aid only if you have proven expertise and qualifications in the field. If in doubt, call the appropriate emergency services.

WIND PROTECTOR

(Available as standard or accessory/spare part)
This accessory allows improved helmet performance under certain conditions of use. The Wind Protector reduces unpleasant infiltrations of air under the chin. See Fig.27 for assembly and disassembly instructions.

VENTILATION SYSTEM

The ventilation system of the helmet consists of:

  • Lower ventilation
    It allows ventilation around the mouth area and conveys the air directly on the visor, thus reducing fogging. See Fig.28 for opening and closing operations.

  • Top ventilation
    It provides direct ventilation to the head upper area, even at low speed. See Fig.29 for opening and closing operations.

  • Rear ventilation
    It is integrated in a rear spoiler and allows warm and stale air to flow out, ensuring an optimum comfort inside the helmet (Fig.30).

SETTING UP THE N-COM – HELMET COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

(Available depending on the product version)

  • Your helmet is factory-preset to be equipped with the N-Com communication system.
  • If your helmet is homologated according to ECE/UN Regulation No.22, it has also been tested and homologated with the N-Com system installed. Installing a system other than the N-Com affects the helmet’s regulatory compliance.
  • During the communication system installation (see the specific instructions in the N-Com kit), it will be necessary to remove from the helmet the foam material fillers located in the polystyrene cheek pads next to the N-Com earphones housings.
  • The above-mentioned fillers should only be removed if the helmet is used with a compatible N-Com system installed.
