ROBERTS 70-115 Moisture Barricade Underlayment Film

INSTRUCTION MANUAL

MoistureBarricade is a non-underlayment polyethylene film for use on concrete slabs to protect against moisture.

Do not use on wood subfloors.

Installation Steps

1. Make sure the subfloor is flat, clean of any debris or other contaminants, and the substrate is within the floor covering manufacturer’s acceptable moisture tolerance range. Additionally, ensure the installation site, flooring and materials have been acclimated, per the manufacturer’s and industry standards.
2. Start in the corner of the room, and roll out/unfold the moisture barrier. Cut the film about 2 inches longer than the room length on each end. Run the film 2 inches up on each wall or any obstructions (see Fig. 1). This 2-inch perimeter running up the walls provide a moisture-proof enclosure for the flooring.

3. If needed, lay the second row of film alongside the first. Make sure that the overlapping film lies on top of the original sheet Fold back the overlap to expose the peel and stick strip. (Fig. 2.) Remove the white protective film from the adhesive strip, and press firmly into place (Fig 3).
4. Repeat this process until the entire subfloor is covered. Ensure all seams that are not joined by the overlapping adhesive strip are sealed with ROBERTS® 50-040 Underlayment Seam Tape (sold separately). To maintain warranty, ensure NO gaps or holes are present.
5. Install your flooring according to the specific manufacturer’s instructions. Trim the 2-inch excess film level with the floor and prior to installing baseboard or moldings. (Fig. 4)
