SMART INFRARED HEATER

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE AND RETAIN IT FOR LATER REFERENCE!

WARNINGS

  1. Before use of the product, please read this instructions manual and keep it for future reference. The original document was prepared in the Hungarian language.
  2. Children under 3 years of age shall be kept away from the appliance unless they are under constant supervision. Children over 3 years of age and under 8 years of age should only be allowed to switch the appliance on/off provided that it is placed and installed in its normal operating position, and that they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards of use.
  3. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years or above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are supervised or have been given instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Children may perform the cleaning or user maintenance of the appliance subject to supervision. ATTENTION: Some parts of this appliance may become very hot and cause burns. Particular care should be taken when children and vulnerable people are present!
  4. Make sure that the appliance was not damaged during shipping.
  5. Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped!
  6. Do not use the appliance if there is visible damage!
  7. The appliance should only be used with the legs on to ensure that cold air can flow underneath the appliance!
  8. It is forbidden to stick (e.g. stickers), draw or magnetically attach (e.g. fridge magnets) anything to the device. The heat dissipating surfaces, the sides of the appliance must not be covered or modified under any circumstances. This can damage the appliance, cause overheating and fire hazard.
  9. Do not place in a corner, observe the minimum positioning clearances shown in Figure 4. Observe the requirements effective in the country of use.
  10. The device must not be used in combination with a programmable switch, time switch or separate remote-controlled systems, etc., which can independently switch the device on, as the possible covering or incorrect positioning of the device may cause a fire hazard.
  11. The appliance is intended to be used for air heating only, not for general heating purposes.
  12. Do not direct the hot air exhaust directly at curtains or other combustible materials!
  13. Do not place near flammable materials. (at least 100cm)
  14. Do not use the appliance in environments where flammable vapours or explosive dust may be released. Do not use in an inflammable or explosive atmosphere.
  15. DO NOT use the appliance near a bathtub, washbasin, shower, swimming pool or sauna.
  16. Use it only under dry, indoor conditions. Protect it from humid environments (e.g. bathroom, swimming pool).
  17. It is forbidden to mount the unit directly below a power socket!
  18. Operate the appliance under constant supervision at all times.
  19. Do not operate the appliance near children without supervision.
  20. Do not use the appliance in motor vehicles or confined spaces (<5m2) (e.g. elevators).
  21. If you are not going to use the appliance for an extended period, turn it off and unplug the power cord. Store in a dry, cool place.
  22. Always switch off the power and let the heater cool down before moving the heater!
  23. If you notice any irregularities (such as unusual noise from the appliance or burning smell), switch off and unplug the appliance immediately.
  24. Make sure that no objects or liquids can enter the appliance through the openings.
  25. Protect from dust, moisture, sunlight and direct heat.
  26. Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply by pulling out the plug.
  27. Never touch the appliance or the power cord with wet hands.
  28. Only connect to earthed wall socket with 230V~ / 50Hz rated supply voltage.
  29. Always fully unroll the supply cable.
  30. Do not run the power cord across the appliance or near air inlets and outlets!
  31. Do not run the power supply cable under a carpet, door mat, etc.
  32. Do not use an extension cord or splitter to connect the appliance to the mains.
  33. Keep the appliance in a place, where the power supply plug can be easily reached and unplugged.
  34. Run the power supply cable so that it cannot be accidentally disconnected, and it does not create a risk of stumbling.
  35. Due to continuous developments, technical specifications and design may change without prior notice.

DO NOT COVER!
COVERING THE UNIT CAN CAUSE OVERHEATING, FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK.

Caution: Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to disassemble of modify the unit or its accessories. In case any part is damaged, immediately power off the unit and seek the assistance of a specialist.
In the event that the power cable should become damaged, it should only be replaced by the manufacturer, its service facility or similarly qualified personnel.

COMMISSIONING

  1. Before installation, carefully remove packaging, and make sure not to damage the unit or the power cord. If you find any damage, the unit must not be operated!
  2. Take out the unit from the box.
  3. Screw the supplied feet onto the bottom of the heater (Figure 1). Use 3 screws per foot.Home-FKIR-270-Wi-Fi-Electric-Convector- \(2\)
  4. Place the unit on its feet on a hard, flat surface. Caution! The appliance must be operated only when it is standing on its feet!
  5. To ensure proper operation, you have to arrange for the free circulation of hot air. Therefore, please, observe the minimum clearances indicated in Figure 4.Home-FKIR-270-Wi-Fi-Electric-Convector- \(4\)
  6. Make sure that the main switch of the appliance is in the off ‘0’ position.
  7. Plug the unit into a standard grounded wall socket. Now the unit is ready for operation!

CLEANING, MAINTENANCE

To ensure the optimal operation of the device, you need to clean it on a monthly basis at least, or when it becomes dirty.

  1. Before cleaning, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply by pulling out the plug.
  2. Let the device cool down (min. 30 minutes).
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush head to clean the casing and the protective grids of the appliance.
  4. Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents! Do not let water leak inside the appliance or spill on electrical components.

DISPOSAL
Waste equipment must be collected and disposed separately from household waste because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function. Dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any associated costs arising.

FEATURES

OPERATION

  • After commissioning the appliance as described in the COMMISSIONING section, switch it on by turning the main switch (3) to the “I” position. The device will beep and the touch screen will light blue for 10 seconds. The touch screen can be reactivated by touching it.
  • The + and – buttons allow you to set the desired room temperature from 0 to 37°C in 1°C increments.
  • If the desired temperature is at least 1°C higher than the current room temperature, the heating is activated. As soon as the room temperature exceeds the thermostat setting by 1°C, the heating is switched off.
  • Each touch of the off timer (7) button increases the remaining operating time by +1 hour (00H – 24H).
  • Open window detection: the function can be turned on or off in the phone application. When the function is switched on, if the device detects a sudden drop in temperature – e.g. if the window is opened – the heating will be switched off for 30 minutes and OPE will appear on the display. During these 30 minutes, if any button is touched, the heating will turn on again.
  • Thermometer calibration: when the device is switched on, with the temperature displayed, press and hold the switch-off timer button (7), thus entering the calibration mode. You can shift the measured temperature by -5 to +5 °C with the +/- buttons, or by choosing 0, the measurement will not change. The device returns to the initial mode 5 seconds after the setting.
  • Calibration can also be performed in the application.
  • By holding the + button for 3 seconds you can switch off the appliance. OFF will then appear on the display. The device is not heating, but is available in the TUYA app. By holding the + button for 3 seconds again you can switch on the appliance again.
  • Press and hold the + and – buttons together for 3 seconds to switch the child lock on and off. When the child lock is active, the display shows CL.
  • Factory reset: If for any reason, e.g. you want to restore the device to its original factory state due to a change or problem in the Wi-Fi environment, you can do it as follows. In normal mode, with temperature display, press and hold the “-” button for 10 seconds.
  • Overheating protection serves to switch off the device in the event of overheating, e.g. if the appliance is covered. Disconnect the device by pulling out the mains plug. Let the device cool down (min. 30 minutes). Check if the air inlet and outlet are unblocked; clean them if necessary. Turn on the device again. If the overheat protection keeps activating, disconnect the device by pulling out the mains plug and contact an authorised service shop.
  • The appliance switches off automatically if it is overturned. In this case, disconnect the appliance by pulling out its mains plug, place it upright on its stand and then put it back into operation as described in the COMMISSIONING section. If you believe that the overturning has damaged the appliance, do not put it into service!
  • To switch off the appliance completely, turn the main switch to position 0.
  • After switching on or re-energising (e.g. blackout) with the main switch, device operates with the last set temperature.

USING THE SMARTPHONE APP
You can also control your appliance remotely with the TUYA Smart app. If you do not already have such an app, use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code shown in Figure 3. Follow the instructions in the application to create a user account. Sign in the application.

  1. Switch on the heater.
  2. Make sure that the appliance and your smartphone are as close to the Wi-Fi router as possible and both are connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  3. Press the “+” button to add the new device to the program. The appliance will appear in the app as “Smart infrared heater”.
  4. If the program does not find the heater automatically, select the type of the appliance: “household appliances” “heating (Other)”
  5. Press and hold the off timer button (7) on the heater until the Wi-Fi symbol starts to flash on the display of the heater. (Press and hold the button again to select slow flashing if you want to pair the appliance with this mode.)
  6. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network you want to use with the app, then click “Next”.
  7. In the app, confirm that the WIFI indicator of the unit flashes rapidly. Then pairing is executed, and your heater connects to the cloud-based application.

Through the application, you can control all the functions of the device, turn it on and off, set the thermostat, activate the switch-off timer (Timer), plan a weekly program (Schedule). Within the Setting menu you can set the child lock (Child Lock), window opening detection (Open window detection), you can turn the touch screen sound on/off (Fan Beep) and calibrate the device’s thermometer (Temperature Calibration).

Switch Wi-Fi function on/off
If you want to switch off the Wi-Fi function, first switch off the device by pressing and holding the + button for 3 seconds (OFF). Then press the – button for 15 seconds until the Wi-Fi icon turns off. To switch it back on press and hold the – button for 15 seconds again.

Wi-Fi reset
At any time, you can disconnect the heater from the cloud-based application by pressing and holding the heater off timer button (7) for 10 seconds.
