IMPORTANT! READ CAREFULLY AND KEEP FOR FUTURE REFERENCE! THESE INSTRUCTIONS CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION, GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PRODUCT AND ITS SAFE USAGE. Using the Cangaroo baby monitor, you can hear your baby from every room in your home and around it.

AC ADAPTOR

Producer : Dong Guan Reyi Power Electronics Co., Ltd Model: RY055050EU Input: 100 -240V; ~ 50/60 Hz, 0.2A Output: 5.5V, 500mA The AC Adaptor is low voltage power source that allows you to use your household electricity to run the Baby Monitor. Connect the AC Adaptor to the AC Adaptor Jack in the Parents or Baby Unit. Both plug into any standard volt electrical outlet in your home. It is recommended to turn off the units before plugging in or unplugging the adaptors. CAUTION: These adaptors were made with a specific design for this product. They cannot be used with any other appliance. Never use a different type of adaptor with this Baby Monitor, which is not supplied by the manufacturer/ importer.

GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SAFE USE OF THE PRODUCT

  1. WARNING! This product cannot substitute the responsible and proper adult supervision and should not be used as a substitute.
  2.  When you place the baby unit in the nursery, you should take extra care to plug the adaptor in a mains electric outlet as far away as possible from the baby.
  3.  This Baby Monitor is intended as an aid. Do not use it as a medical monitor or a substitute for responsible and proper adult supervision.
  4.  Make sure the Baby Unit and adaptor are out of child’s reach. Do not place the Baby Unit inside the baby’s crib or playpen!
  5.  The antennas on the Parents and Baby Units are fixed, do not try to extend them.
  6.  Do not attempt to modify the product, to repair it by yourself if it is damaged or to replace any of its parts with ones that are not supplied by the producer/ importer.
  7.  The sender (baby unit) must be placed at least 1 meter away from the child in order to ensure that the microphone can pick up the child’s sound.
  8.  Unwrap and fully extend the power cord for best transmission if the adaptor is being used. Plug the adaptor into the nearest standard household electrical outlet.
  9.  Do not immerse any of the baby monitor’s parts in water or other fluid.
  10. Before plugging the adaptor into a power outlet, check if the voltage indicated on the adaptor corresponds to the local mains voltage.
  11.  Check the baby monitor and adaptor regularly before usage for damages or broken parts. If you find such, do not try to repair the product by yourself. For this purpose, contact the shop from which you’ve purchased the product or the importer.
  12.  Do not cut off the adapters to replace them with other plugs, as this causes a hazardous situation.
  13. Do not use the baby monitor in wet environment or near water supplies.
  14. Do not store the baby monitor or the charger near direct heat sources ­ such as open fireplaces, heat appliances or cookers.
  15.  In order to avoid the risk of electric shock, do not open sender and receiver bodies, except for battery compartment.
  16.  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning usage of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  17.  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  18.  The baby monitor has 1300 meters operating range in ideal conditions. Depending on the surrounding objects and other obstacles, the operating range can be less.
  19.  WARNING: – Use and store the appliance under temperatures between 10° to 40° degrees of Celsius.
    • Do not expose the sender or receiver to temperatures that are too low or too high and to direct sunlight.
    • Make sure the sender and its cable are always away from children’s reach (at least 1 meter away from it).
    • Do not put the baby unit in the baby’s bed or crib.
    • Never cover the parent’s and baby’s units with anything (for e.g. cloth or blanket).
    • Always put the battery correctly according to the polarity marked on the bottom of battery compartment. The type and size of the batteries must be the same as the one marked on the units’ body and the battery compartment bottom.
  20. Use this product only as intended and described in this manual. Do not place any accessories, which aren’t approved by the manufacturer and do not make any improvements or changes on the product, as this may lead to its improper work or damage.
  21. Do not use the adaptor, if there is a damaged cable or plug.
  22. Do not use any of the appliances if they don’t work correctly, if they are damaged, or if they have been immersed in water. You should contact the shop, from which you have purchased the product, or the importer in order to repair the damaged part.
  23. Do not try to repair the product or the cable/ plug of the adaptor by yourself.
  24. Keep the cable away from heat sources.
  25.  Do not try to modify the baby monitor or to repair it by yourself. For consultation contact an authorized repair service or the shop, from which you’ve purchased the product.
  26. Do not use spare parts, which are not the original ones supplied by the manufacturer or the importer.
  27.  The supply cord should be attached to mains power outlet with the following specifications: 220 ­ 240 V 50/60Hz.
  28.  This appliance is intended for usage by responsible persons! Keep it away from small children and disabled persons.
  29.  Be careful not to spill food, water or other kind of liquid on the supply cord, if you use the adaptor for the sender/ receiver.
  30.  Do not reach after appliance that has fallen into water. If such accident occurs, you should unplug the supply cord of the adaptor, if it has been connected to the mains power outlet.
  31. The product complies with the following EU standards: ETSI EN 303 405 V1.1.1 (2017-05); ETSI EN 301 489-1 V2.2.3 (2019-11); ETSI EN 301 489-5 V2.2.1 (2019-04); EN 62368-1:2014+A11:2017; EN 62479:2010.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

  1. The battery compartments are situated on the back part of the sender and receiver.
  2. Open the cover.
  3. Place 3 pcs of 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries in the battery compartment. You should place them correctly according to the polarity marked on the bottom of the compartment. The batteries are not included in the set. 4. Replace the compartment cover again.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR THE BATTERIES:

  1. The batteries must be handled by an adult. Do not allow children to play with the batteries. 2. Always remove the exhausted batteries and do not throw them away with the household waste, but at the designated places. They are recyclable. 3. Use batteries AAA size only . 4.Alkaline batteries are recommended. 5. Always replace all of the batteries, when you replace them with new. Children should not be present when you replace the batteries. 6. Always place the batteries correctly according to the polarity marked on the battery compartment. If they are not placed correctly, this may lead to short circuit or explosion. 7. Do not mix old with new batteries. 8. Do not mix alkaline with standard (Carbon ­ Zinc), or with rechargeable (Nickel ­ Cadmium) batteries. 9. Do not put the batteries in fire, as this may lead to explosion or leakage. 10. If you are not going to use the appliance for a long time, unplug the adaptor from the sender/ receiver and take out the batteries from both of the appliances in order to avoid leakage and corrosion as an after-effect. 11. The non-rechargeable batteries, should not be recharged. 13. If there are chargeable batteries included in the set, the Units shall be used and charged under adult supervision only.

TESTING OF THE PRODUCT BEFORE USE

  1. Test before usage the transmission of the sender and the signal of the receiver, by: -Set both Parent and Baby Unit to the same channel (1 or 2) by switching the channel switch. (See “COMPONENTS OF THE BABY MONITOR”).
  2. Place the sender in the room, in which it will be used (at least 1 meter away from the child).
    • Place the “SENSITIVITY” switch in position NORM in order to turn on the sender.
    • The power indicator will turn on (Check the table bellow).
    • Place the receiver in the room, in which you will be or it will be used. Switch the volume control button in order to turn on the parents’ unit.
    • The indicating light will turn on (See the table bellow).
    • Light of sound level indicator lights when sound is received.
    • One or two dots light for shallow sound received. Three or more dots light for louder sound received.
    • When you experience interference (buzzing or static, etc.), switch both units to the alternative channel.

USING OF THE APPLIANCE

IMPORTANT! Test the sender and the receiver before usage of the product and when the position of the sender is changed. (See ,,TESTING OF THE PRODUCT BEFORE USE”)

  1. The sender detects sound levels within a range of 1 to 2 meters (3 to 6.5 feet) for NORM setting.
  2. Place Baby Unit in the same room with child and place microphone directly toward child location, such as crib or playing area.
  3. Set both Parents and Baby units to the same channel (1 or 2).
  4. Push Baby Unit SENSITIVITY switch to NORM or HIGH position. The Power indicator lights (Please refer to “COLOR INDEX OF POWER INDICATOR”)
  5. Adjust different detecting sound level sensitivity by switching the SENSITIVITY switch to either NORM (normal sensitivity: 1-2 meters) or HIGH (high sensitivity:2- 6 meters) position.
  6. The baby unit will go to stand-by mode for power saving when it doesn’t detect sound from the surrounding area.
  7. Place Parents Unit where you stay and hear it.
  8. Turn on the Parents Unit by rotating Power/Volume dial. Power indicator lights when the unit is on (Please refer to “COLOR INDEX OF POWER INDICATOR”).
  9. Rotate Power/Volume dial to adjust volume.
  10. Note : ·Place the Baby Unit at least 1 meter away from the baby so that the microphone can pick up the child’s sound.  Unwrap and fully extend power cord for best transmission if adaptor is used. Plug the adaptor into the nearest standard household electrical outlet.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEMS SOLUTIONS

1. No power

| ‒ Unit is not turned on. Turn on the units.

‒ Check if the batteries are installed properly.

‒ Make sure the adaptor is connected to the Baby’s Unit properly if using the adaptor instead of the batteries.

‒ The batteries may be low in charge, so it is best to change them with new.

2. No power indicator lights

| ‒ Volume level on Parents’ Unit is set too low. Adjust it to a higher volume.

‒ Sound sensitivity level of Baby’s Unit is too low. Turn the Sound Sensitivity switch on to a

Higher position.

‒ Units are out of range. Move Parents’ Unit closer to Baby’s Unit.

‒ Ensure both units are at the same channel.

3. Hearing static or Buzzing from Parents

| ‒ Make sure that both of the units are using the same channel.

‒ Move the Parents’ Unit closer to the Baby’s Unit.

Note: The communication range varies depending on surrounding conditions such as physical obstructions, interference.

‒ Reposition or replacement of the batteries.

4. Conversations or sounds from other homes received| ‒ Signal interference may be due to the usage of other nursery monitor on the same channel or if a cordless phone is being used. Change both units to another channel to eliminate source of interference.

5. High pitched noise

| ‒ The Parents’ and Baby’s Units are positioned too close to each other. Move the Parents’

Unit away from the Baby’s Unit.

‒The volume is set too high. Lower the volume at the Parents’ Unit.

MAINTAINANCE AND CLEANING OF THE BABY MONITOR

  1. Do not immerse the sender and receiver in water and do not wash them under running water.
  2. Do not use cleansing spray and liquid cleansers.
  3. Turn off the sender/ receiver if any of them is connected to the mains power outlet.
  4. Clean the receiver and sender with a soft, wet cloth. After that dry thoroughly with a dry, soft cloth.
  5. Before plugging the units in the mains power outlet, check if they are dry.
  6. If you do not intend to use the baby monitor for a certain period of time, take the batteries out of the units in order to avoid leakage or corrosion of the product.
  7. Put the units and the adaptor in a cool and dry place.
  8. After ceasing product’s usage or if it is damaged and cannot be used anymore, do not throw it away with the household waste but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment.
  9. The batteries contain chemicals, which can pollute the environment. Do not throw them away with the normal household waste but hand them in at an official collection point for recycling.
  10. Always take out the batteries before throwing away the appliance or before handing it in at a special collection waste point.
  11. Warning! Children should not play with this product! So when the product is not being used, you must store it in a place away from children’s reach.
