-
Using the pump
-
Massage (Stimulation):
This feature stimulates the flow of breast milk. We recommend you using this option first and then switch to squeezing mode. The massage mode mimics baby sucking, not too intensive, and stimulates the flow of milk. The suction mode also mimics baby sucking, but is stronger than the first mode, in more frequent base and very efficiently.
Using the “+” and “-” buttons you can adjust the level you are most comfortable with for breast milk stimulation.. This mode has 9 levels. Once breast milk starts flowing, switch to suction mode. -
Suction:
Press the mode selection button and activate the suction function. Using the “+” and “-” buttons you can adjust the level of squeezing that is most efficient and comfortable for you. This mode has 9 levels. -
Combined function massage with suction:
You can also start with the combined function. Press the mode selection button to activate the combined function massage with suction. This mode has 9 levels – 5 massage levels and 4 suction levels. You can adjust the levels with the “+” and “-” buttons.
-
-
On average, you have to pump for 10-15 minutes to drain 180 ml of milk. Keep in mind that the amount of milk varies from woman to woman.
-
Do not overfill the milk bottle to prevent milk from leaking out of the bottle.
-
When you stop using the pump, switch it off from the ON / OFF button. Then remove the tube from the back of the pump body. Remove the pump body from the bottle. Close the bottle with the ring and the pacifier and place a cap on top to keep it sterile.
-
Battery charge indicator:
- The battery charge indicator flashes when charging and stops when charging is complete.
- When the battery is low, the indicator starts flashing and the pump automatically switches off.
WHEN TO USE YOUR BREAST PUMP
- If it is possible. The use of the electric breast pump may begin usually two or four weeks after the birth of your baby. There should be a period of breast milk secretion and breastfeeding before each use of the pump.
- The electric pump is an apparatus, which helps postpartum women to ease the pain and to extend the breastfeeding time. It uses the premise that there is sufficient milk and smooth mammary gland. For some women, which are mothers for the first time, the mammary gland usually is not smooth enough. A reason sometimes can be the congenital nipple inversion or milk water shortage. So, we suggest you before purchasing and using the pump, to consult with a doctor who could confirm that your mammary gland is smooth and that the breast milk is in normal condition. Do not buy and use the pump only as a device to unblock your milk ducts.
HINTS
- It takes practice in order to use the breast pump the best possible way. So it will take you at least several attempts before starting successfully to use the electric breast pump.
- Choose a quiet time to use the pump – time, when no one will disturb you.
- Sit in a comfortable chair, in a perpendicular position to the ground. Please, put a comfortable cushion behind your back before you start using the breast pump. Take a glass of water and place it near you, because you may feel thirsty during the pumping process.
- Place a warm cloth on your breasts for a few minutes before starting to express the milk as this may facilitate the process and relieve the tension in the breasts.
- Warmth and relaxation can help for the easier pumping of the breast milk, so before using the pump, you might like to take a bath or a shower.
- Try expressing from one breast while your baby is feeding from the other, or continue expressing just after the feed.
- Repositioning the pump on your breast from time to time can help stimulate the secretion. Practice in order to find the best pumping technique for you. If the process is causing you breast pain, stop immediately and consult with a doctor at once.
HOW TO STORE THE BREAST MILK
- Only breast milk that has been collected using a sterile breast pump can be stored to feed your baby.
- The milk can be stored in a thermos at 40 ° C, so you can feed your baby every 4 hours.
- If you store freshly expressed milk, seal the milk. The milk can be stored for 10 hours at room temperature at 19 – 25 ° C.
- The expressed milk can be stored in a refrigerator for a maximum of 48 hours (but not on the refrigerator door) or in a freezer for a maximum of 3 months.
- Frozen milk must first be left in the refrigerator to thaw naturally. If you need it urgently, put it in a bowl of warm water and thaw it. After thawing, the milk can be stored in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
- NEVER FREEZE MILK AGAIN.
- Frozen milk can be gradually warmed in warm water or placed in a baby bottle warmer.
- NEVER WARM YOUR BREAST IN THE MICROWAVE, BECAUSE YOU CAN DESTROY VITAL NUTRIENTS AND ANTIBODIES THIS WAY. Also, uneven heating can lead to too hot areas of breast milk, which can cause burns to your baby’s upper digestive tract. Never place a frozen bottle of milk in boiling water, as this may cause the bottle to burst / break. Never pour boiling water directly into a feeding bottle. You should allow the water to cool for about 20 minutes before filling the bottle.
CLEANING AND STERILIZATION OF THE PUMP
- .Important: NEVER CLEAN WITH WATER or STERILIZE THE PUMPING MECHANISM, CONNECTING TUBE AND THE ADAPTER FOR CHARGING THE BATTERY. You can only clean it with a soft dry cloth.
- Clean and sterilize your electric pump before first use and after each use, following the instructions below.
- We recommend using an electric sterilizer, microwave sterilizer or boiling to clean the pump.
- Do not use a UV sterilizer or dishwasher to clean the pump
- STERILIZATION:
- Remove the pump mechanism (D) and set it aside. Separate all other parts, wash them in warm soapy water and dry them. Do not use antibacterial or corrosive cleaners.
- Sterilize ONLY the following parts: Silicone massaging pad (A); Horn mouth and pump body (B); Silicone diaphragm (C); Valve (E); Feeding bottle (F); Bottle gap (G); Bottle ring (H); Dust shield (J); Sealing Disc (K).
- Maximum sterilization time in a steam or boiling sterilizer is about 8 to 10 minutes.
- RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CLEANING
-
Use a steam sterilizer. Boiling the parts is not recommended. The first reason is that the product will be easily damaged if improper sterilization is applied. Second, this method of sterilization cannot achieve full effect.
-
If you do decide to use boiling as a sterilization method, pour more water into the container so that the parts are completely covered with water. You must not leave the product unattended during the sterilization process. Do not boil for too long – maximum 10 minutes.
-
For breastfeeding mothers who breastfeed every 2-3 hours, we do not recommend sterilizing and cleaning after each use. Excessive disinfection and cleaning can easily lead to premature aging of parts and shorten the life of the breast pump. Thorough cleaning of stains and sterilization once a day is recommended.
-
Store the parts in a clean container until the next use.
IMPORTANT! If you use the breast pump as a means of storing milk, you must take care to disinfect all washable parts of the pump, because otherwise, the milk can easily spoil, as it is a product that is difficult to store.
ATTENTION! Before use, make sure that the pump body, valve, piston and cover are dry. -
If you use a steam sterilizer to clean the pump parts, you must take care that they do not come into contact with the sterilizer heater. And if you use boiling as your sterilization method, be careful that the parts do not come into contact with the bottom of the container you are boiling in.
-
When not using the product for a long time, it is recommended to charge the battery once a month.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
-
Lack of suction:
- Make sure that you have not blocked or covered the air opening of the pump body.
- Check if you have assembled all parts correctly and if the valve is positioned correctly.
- Ensure that the silicone massage pad is fitted securely to the pump body and a perfect seal is created.
- Check if you have placed the silicone valve firmly to the opening of the pump body.
- Check whether there are any damaged parts.
If you can not turn the pump on, check whether the battery is exhausted. Connect the adapter to the terminal for charging the motor. Do not use it while charging as it shortens battery life
-
No milk is being expressed: Check point 1
- Ensure the pump is correctly assembled and that suction is being created.
- Relax and try again.
- We recommend you increase the levels gradually; the most suitable level is the one, with which the suction is painless. The following is NOT true: the stronger – the better. Too strong suction can hurt the nipple.
-
Pain in the breast area where there is expression:
- If you feel pain and no milk flows during expression, maybe your mammary gland is blocked.
The complete milk expression will have good effect on mastitis protection. You may be using too high level of suction. You do not need to use all the suction that the pump can generate.
Try to adjust the proper suction and frequency.
- If you feel pain and no milk flows during expression, maybe your mammary gland is blocked.
-
Flow is too slow:
The speed of milk flow differs for every woman. The higher degree and level of expression do not mean faster flow of milk. This depends on many factors – constitution of the breast, level of possibility, even the mood.
The more regularly you use the breast pump, the quicker and easier the flow of milk. Before you start using it, put a warm cloth on your breasts and use the massage mode for about 5 minutes before you switch to expression mode. -
Milk is dropping down the silicone massage pad:
- Remove and refit again the massage pad in order to ensure it is firmly attached to the central part of the funnel.
- Try to lean slightly forward.
-
Cracking and discoloration of the pump/ feeding bottle parts:
Avoid contact with antibacterial or abrasive detergents/ cleaners as they can damage the plastic. Combination of detergents, cleaning products, sterilizing solution, softened water and temperature fluctuations can cause plastic to crack. If this occurs, please, do not use. The pump body and the breast milk containers are dishwasher safe but the food colorings may cause discoloring them. Keep the product out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure
may lead to discoloration. -
Lost or broken parts:
For spare parts contact an authorized service center or the sales agent from whom you have purchased the product. Do not use spare parts, which are not approved or supplied by the manufacturer.- Do not attempt to repair or to modify the product, because this may endanger Your and Your baby’s health.
Thank you for purchasing this product! Use it carefully and follow the instructions from this manual in order to ensure the safe use and maintenance of the electric breast pump. When having questions regarding the use, maintenance and repair of the product, contact the importer or sales agent from whom you have purchased the product.
- Do not attempt to repair or to modify the product, because this may endanger Your and Your baby’s health.
