Macho Fern Plant Pot for Home and Garden Decor
Light
Avoid placing these ferns in spots that receive direct sunlight throughout the
day, especially the intense afternoon sun, as the delicate fronds can get
easily burnt.
Indoors, macho ferns do best in medium to bright indirect light, but can also
tolerate low light locations.
Water & Humidity
Water. Ensure that the soil around your macho fern stays consistently moist,
but not wet. Macho ferns are not drought tolerant so the soil should never be
allowed to dry out completely. When grown indoors, macho ferns may need to be
watered once or twice a week depending on the temperature.
Temperature
Ideal temperature is 50-80°F
Food
Fertilize your macho fern every six months or so (at minimum) with a general-
purpose fertilizer. If you want your macho fern to grow larger and faster, you
can fertilize more frequently.
Toxicity
Mildly toxic to humans and animals if ingested.
Growers Tips
You can prune it around the edges to give it a round shape, which will make
some room for other plants and also give a neater look to your Macho. However,
if the plant is suffering from dead fronds that can cause damage through
spreading, then you must detach it. You can cut down the diseased part to
prevent your plant from lacking further growth and nourishment.
