Exotica Ctenanthe Silver American Plant
Light
Thrives in bright indirect light. Be sure not to place in direct sunlight
or the leaves can burn.
Water & Humidity
Keep soil consistently moist, but not soggy. You will know to water your
plant when its leaves start to curl in. Ctenanthes love higher humidity. Mist
them with lukewarm water regularly, use a pebble tray, or place a humidifier
nearby.
Temperature
Ideal temperature is 60-85°F
Food
You can use a general houseplant fertilizer once a month during the spring and
summer. No fertilizer is necessary during the winter when plant growth
naturally slows.
Toxicity
Non-toxic to humans and pets.
Growers Tips
During the winter, your Ctenanthe plant will go through a dormant phase. It
will need less water to grow and survive. To water your plant, always use
distilled, rain, or filtered water as this plant cannot tolerate the chemicals
in tap water.
