Product Usage Instructions

Safety Precautions:

  • Always disconnect the device from the power outlet before:
    • a. Installation
    • b. Detecting any operational abnormalities
    • c. Not using the device for short or long periods
    • d. Cleaning the device
  • Avoid placing the device near heat sources, flammable materials, or in positions where it can be covered incorrectly.
  • Ensure switches and controls are not accessible to persons in baths or showers.
  • Follow the installation instructions carefully to ensure safe and proper operation.

Installation:

  1. Make sure the device is horizontally fixed with the air outlet grille facing downwards.
  2. Drill two perfectly horizontal holes with a center distance of 39.5cm and at least 215cm above the floor.
  3. Insert expansion plugs and screw in the provided screws securely.

Operation:
When the device is plugged in and turned on, it enters Stand-by mode, emits an audible signal (beep), and displays the room temperature.

Control Panel Functions:

  • -> + (high heat: 2000W) + (oscillation)
  • To deactivate the Wifi function, press the button for five seconds (Wifi symbol off). Press again for five seconds to activate Wifi (Wifi symbol on).

GENERAL ADVISE

  • This appliance is designed to heat indoor domestic and similar environments only; it must be installed only on the wall and used as specified in these instructions; furthermore, it is to be considered an additional heating unit, and not a source of primary/central heating. Examples of appliances for domestic use are those used for common house purposes, in domestic environments and that can be used by non-experts:
    • in shops, offices, and other similar workplaces;
    • in farms or similar businesses;
    • by guests in hotels, motels, and other residential-type environments;
    • in bed and breakfast accommodation.
  • This heater is a radio device that intentionally emits and/or receives radio waves for radiocommunication and/or radiodetermination purposes.
  • The appliance must be installed as specified in the “Installation” paragraph, and must not be used in dusty areas or in areas with airborne particles/materials (which may block the grids), or in the presence of high humidity and flammable products. Any other use should be considered inappropriate and dangerous.

Warning:

  • The use of any electrical appliance always involves the observance of elementary safety precautions to avoid risks of electric shocks, physical injuries, and fire. Among these precautions, we point out:

  • Do not use this heating appliance with programmers, timers or with any other device that automatically turns on the appliance, as this could pose a fire risk should the appliance be covered or positioned incorrectly.

  • The grille does not provide complete protection to children or to people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity.

INSTALLATION

  • After unpacking, check the integrity of the appliance; if in doubt, do not use it and contact a qualified technician.The packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, metal staples, etc.) must not be left within reach of children, as they are potentially hazardous. All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The secondary elements of the packaging with low weight (es: packing tape) are unmarked as are its small size packing materials, the protective film of surfaces: therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal in force in your municipality.
  • Before installing the appliance, make sure that:
    • the electrical system to which the appliance will be connected complies with current standards and has cables whose cross-section is suitable for the absorbed power
    • the voltage values on the nameplate correspond to those on the main supply. Check that other appliances with high absorption are not connected to the power line to avoid overloading and fire hazards.In the event of incompatibility between the power socket and the appliance’s plug, have the plug replaced with a suitable model by a qualified professional, who should ensure that the cable is appropriate for the power rating of the device.The use of adaptors or extensions is generally not advisable; if it is necessary to use them, they must comply with safety regulations and the total current (amperes) must not be rated lower than the maximum current of the appliance.
    • There are no water, gas or power lines inside the wall
    • The wall to which the appliance is to be fixed must be made of masonry and/or heat-resistant, fire-retardant and solid material (not wood or synthetic material), flat and free of irregularities; the ceiling must also be made of fire-retardant and heat-resistant material.
    • the appliance can be installed at least 2.0m from the ground (height referred to the lower edge of the appliance), is positioned so that it cannot suffer impacts and that the air outlet grid has a free space of at least 100cm, and at least 40cm at the sides.If installed in a bathroom, in addition to the height from the ground, it must be ensured that the switches and control devices cannot be touched or reached by a person in the bathtub or shower.
    • the appliance is away from other sources of heat, flammable materials (curtains, upholstery, etc.), flammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans), and materials that can be deformed by heat.
  • This appliance must not be used in any type of vehicle or restricted space (lifts, camper vans, cars, cabins, etc.).
  • To install the appliance, proceed as follows and refer to the figures:
    • The appliance must be fixed in such a way that it is horizontal and the air outlet grid is on the underside.
    • the fixing is provided employing 2 screws that engage in the 2 “lock hole” slots made on the rear panel. Drill 2 perfectly horizontal holes, with a distance of 39.5 cm and at least 215 cm from the floor. Insert the expansion dowel and drive in screws with a head having a 8mm diameter, suitable to fit in the slots (see figure on the side)
  • Ensure that the power cord is correctly positioned and does not come into contact with hot parts or sharp edges, or become wound around the appliance itself and is not twisted.
  • In the event of a fault or malfunction, switch off the appliance and have it checked by a qualified technician.

Use

The heater is equipped with electronic controls for regulation and programming: A panel with a touch keyboard, remote control, and Smartphone APP.
O/I switch. It active (pos.I) or switches off (pos. 0) the appliance. On (pos. I) it is stand-by, a “Beep” acoustic signal will be heard and the room temperature appear on the display. Control panel. Below there’s the list of functions:

  • Button each time the key is touched, the following modes follow: (fan)-> (hot air:1200W)-> + (very hot air: 2000W)-> + (very hot air: 2000W) + ( ) swing automatique of the front louver. To disable the Wifi function press the button for five seconds about (symbol wifi Off on the display), for active the Wifi function press the button for five seconds about (symbol wifi On on the display).
    Button: with the heater switched on, adjust the room temperature (10 – 49°C), and once the value is reached, the thermostat stops heating (only the ventilation function will work): as the temperature decreases, the thermostat will turn the resistance back on for the time necessary to re-establish the value.
    Press the button for about three seconds: a “Beep” acoustic signal will be heard, release the button and “ ”symbol on the display will flash quickly.
    Remote control must be pointed in the correct direction (at a max distance of 4m). Do not allow children to replace the battery.
    Insert n.1 battery type: “CR2025. 3V” of the remote control (not included in the package), move the plastic tab to the right (→ PUSH) and simultaneously remove the battery slot (↓ OPEN). Insert the battery (following the right polarity: +/-) and close the battery slot. For long periods remove the battery.

WARNING : Do Not Ingest Battery. Chemical Burn Hazard.
This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention. The batteries contain materials, which are hazardous to the environment; they must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped and that they are disposed of safely.

Acoustic warning: an acoustic signal is emitted for each key selection.
Auto Dim. It darkens the display (the LEDs of the selected functions remain on if you don’t perform any operation within 1 minute of switching it on: touching any key turns the display back on.
The heater is equipped also with this safety function: a safety device, that turns off the appliance in the event of overheating. To start it again, remove the plug from the mains and allow it to cool (approximately 10/20 minutes).

Smartphone
In addition to the control via the control panel and the remote control, the heater can be controlled via smartphone.

Description
Wifi heater, usable via Smartphone via application with Android or iOS operating systems.

  • Adjustable selections via the Bimar Live Smart APP.
  • The APP installation and configuration procedure may be slightly different from what is described in this manual; proceed as indicated in the APP.
  • We are not responsible for problems caused by the internet line, the Wi-Fi router, and other smart devices.
  • Check that the router is for domestic use, that the WiFi network has no access restrictions other than the password, and that the presence of a strong and uniform WiFi signal in the room where the appliance is to be installed and used. In general, routers have set up dual-band, i.e. based on dual-frequency (2.4 and 5)GHz.
  • Make sure that the smartphone is connected to the wi-fi network to be used for the appliance.
  • To activate and configure the device, you only need to set the fixed frequency at 2.4GHz (access the IP address of the router  and search for the network settings section (image on the side, refer to it as an example; if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel). For subsequent uses of the device, if  desired, reset the router to dual frequency.

First Installation/Setup

  • Install the “BIMAR life Smart” App via Google Play (Android) or AppStore (iOS), or scan the QR code provided here.
  • Once installed, the app icon appears. Click the “Bimar Live Smart” icon to run the app.
  • At the first access, register and fill in your credentials:
    • click on “Create a new account”, and confirm “I agree” for the data relating to the Privacy Policy (by pressing: ” ” the text of the informative report pursuant to Article 13 of the 2016/679 European Regulation appears, while by selecting “User Agreement” the Bimar srl Service Agreement appears)
    • if you want also click on: “I consent to the processing of my data for receiving commercial and marketing communications”
    • enter your email address (select the desired country)
    • click on the writing “Get the verification code”, wait for a few seconds and then enter the code received in the “Verification code” part using your registration email address (possibly also check the Junk e-mail folder, if you don’t receive it in the inbox folder).
  • Enter your personalized password and click “Done”. If the procedure is carried out correctly, the control panel screen for using the application appears.

Configuration via Bluetooth (activate the phone’s Bluetooth connection)

  • Insert the plug into the socket, press the 0/I switch to pos. I (a “Beep” acoustic signal will be heard and with display indicator will light on).
  • Press the “ ” button for about three seconds: a “Beep” acoustic signal will be heard and “ ”symbol on the display will flash quickly; release the button.
  •  Open the APP on your smartphone: on the first screen click on “ADD DEVICE” or optionally click on “ ” at the top right and press the writing: “
  • Wait for the device to load, then click on the  word “Add”
  • On the next screen: click on “
  • Wi-Fi set-up”: enter: the NAME and PASSWORD  of your Wi-Fi network, and click on the “Next” symbol to activate the connection.
  • Wait for the device to connect to the Wi-Fi network and press the word “Finish”.

Configuration without Bluetooth

  • Follow the procedure in the previous paragraph 2.1. to turn on and reset the device.

  • Open the APP on your smartphone: on the first screen click on “ADD DEVICE” or optionally click on “ ” at the top right and press the writing: “

  • In the next screen, click “ ”.

  • “Set up Wi-Fi”: enter: NAME and PASSWORD your Wi-Fi network, and click on the “next” symbol to activate the connection.

  • On the next screen: click on the writing “Confirm” to activate, then the LED will flash quickly; after this press on the “Next” symbol.

  • The countdown will start: Scanning devices ⇒ Register the device on Cloud ⇒ Start thedevice that stops when the connection between your device and the smartphone has occurred End.

  • It’s also possible to pair the device via the “AP Mode”, press the button at the top right, and hold down the ” ” button, you will hear a “Bip” acoustic signal and will flash , open the WI-FI phone settings and connect to the “Bimar” network Live Smart xxx” or “Smart Life xxx” and then press “connect now”.

  • If the operations described above do not proceed correctly or the device is “Offline”, the device must be reset, operating as follows: remove the plug from the socket, and leave the fan heater disconnected for 30 seconds. Re-insert the plug into the socket of the fan heater. Press the ” ” button for about three seconds: a “Beep” acoustic signal will be heard, release the button and “ ”symbol on the display will flash quickly;

Settings and customizations

  • Open the smartphone screen and press in the bottom right corner to customize the following functions: Home management, Message Center, Assistance Center, Configure, and In-APP purchases.
  • Press in the bottom center to customize the operation of the device to suit the various scenarios or operating situations provided by the APP (for example: Back home, Leaving home, Dawn, Goodnight, Temperature, Humidity, Weather, Air quality, Dawn/dusk) or in combination with other devices.
  • Press in the bottom left corner and then at the top of the screen, for example: to customise (update and/or change where permitted) the appliance’s position or the outdoor wind speed, air pressure, humidity and temperature (see right).
  • Press top right to customize the following: Change Device name and device position, Check Network, Third-party devices supported: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Device sharing, Create a Comment group, Device Info, Feedback, Update Firmware, Remove device, Reset to factory settings.
    The smartphone must be connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular data network for remote control.

Voice control
The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls. Open the corresponding App/connect the Skill (make sure that the account and password used are the same as those of the “Bimar Live Smart” app) and follow the settings.Google Home: some basic vocal commands are:

  • “OK Google” or “Hey Google”, turn on XX (name of the device)

  •  “OK Google” or “Hey Google”, turn off XX (name of the device)

  • etc.
    Amazon Alexa: some basic vocal commands are:

  • “Alexa”, turn on XX (name of the device)

  • “Alexa”, turn off XX (name of the device)

  • etc.
    Note : the voice control has defined functions.

First use: run the appliance to eliminate the “new smell” and any oil residue from the manufacturing process for at least 10/15 minutes: insert the plug inside the socket, pos. mode at the max power and adjust the thermostat at 30°C. During this operation, ventilate the room well to eliminate the “new smell” that is given off by the appliance.
Follow these steps to use the appliance correctly:

  1. Before inserting the plug into the power socket, check that the main switch to pos. “0”.
  2. Insert the plug into the power socket.
  3. Press the main switch to pos. “I”, press the switch “ ” of the remote control or the switch “ ” of the control panel to activate the heater and select the required functions.
  4. Weekly programming: (only activated via Smartphone): sets: the on/off periods for each day of the week and the temperature required. Programming may be: timer ON, timer OFF, or timer ON/OFF, in which the on-off periods are set for just once or for every day of the week, mode, and the temperature is selected. Save.
  5. Press the switches to: “ ” and main switch to“0” position to turn off the appliance, and remove the plug from the power socket.
    At each use, check that the air intake and dissipation grilles cannot become blocked; furthermore, to avoid the risk of fire or overheating of the appliance, do not cover it or use it to dry laundry. Never leave the appliance connected to the socket if it is not in use, especially for long periods. In the event of a breakdown or malfunction, switch off the appliance and have it checked by professionally qualified personnel; repairs carried out by unqualified personnel can be dangerous and void the guarantee

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention : before cleaning the appliance, switch off, unplug and wait for before it has completely cooled down.

  • To clean the body use a soft damp cloth; do not use abrasive products.
  • Do not submerge any part of the heater in water or other liquids; if this should happen, do not put your hands into the liquid, firstly remove the plug from the power socket. Carefully dry the appliance and check that all the electrical parts are dry: if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel.
  • From time to time clean the grid to remove fluff, dust or other deposits, to improve the performance. Use a vacuum cleaner or a cloth.
  • If you decide not to use the appliance anymore, we recommend making it inoperative by cutting the power cord (after making sure you have disconnected the plug from the socket) and make dangerous parts harmless if children are allowed to play with them.

BATTERY – Remove the battery from the remote control before its disposal. Do not dispose the battery with domestic waste. The battery must be disposed of in the appropriate containers or in the specific collecting center. Suitable segregated collection helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health.
To remove the battery, refer to the Instructions for use.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT PER EC DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU.
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection center or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.

Guarantee coverage lasts 24 months and terminates after the prescribed term. Guarantee coverage covers all replacements or repairs that become necessary due to defects in material or manufacture. Guarantee coverage does not cover all those parts that become defective due to failure to comply with installation, operating or maintenance instructions, shipping damage, operating neglect or negligence, improper use or any circumstances which are not due to manufacturing defects of the appliance. Guarantee coverage is also excluded for replacement or repair of all parts subject to fair wear and tear or to expiry, as well as removable parts, light bulbs, glass components, ceramic parts, external tubes, batteries and disposable (throw-away) accessories.
