SAFETY NOTICES

This appliance is only intended for heating domestic and similar interiors in accordance with these instructions; moreover, the fan heater should be considered as a supplementary heat source and not as a central heating system.

This fan heater is a radio device which intentionally emits and/or receives radio waves for radiocommunication and/or radiodetermination purposes. Examples of household appliances are appliances for typical household functions, those used in the home, or those which may be used for typical household functions even by untrained persons:

in shops, offices and other similar workplaces;

n farms and in similar locations;

y the customers of hotels, motels and other residential environments;

in bed and breakfast establishments.
The appliance must not be used in dusty environments or those containing particularly volatile materials (they may obstruct the grilles), in very damp locations, in the presence of flammable products, or outdoors. Any other use constitutes misuse and is hazardous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage arising from misuse or incorrect or irresponsible use, and/or from repairs carried out by unqualified persons. The fan heater becomes hot when in operation; only touch the buttons and the plastic handle. Do not touch the grille on the front as it is very hot. Never insert fingers and/or any object through the front grille, as this may cause grazes, electric shock or damage to the appliance. -
The protective grille does not provide complete protection for children or those with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities.
WARNING!- Parts of this product may become very hot and cause burns. Special care must be taken in the presence of children or vulnerable individuals.
- Warning: when using electrical appliances, always comply with the basic safety precautions to avoid the risks of fire, electric shock and physical injury.
- Never use this appliance in a room with floor area of less than 4m².

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or the necessary knowledge providing they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user should not be done by children unless they are supervised.

Children of less than 3 years of age must be kept at a safe distance unless continually supervised. Children between 3 and 8 years of age must only switch the appliance on/off if it has been placed or installed in its normal operating position and they are supervised or instructed regarding the safe use of the appliance and understand its dangers. Children between 3 and 8 years of age must not connect the plug, adjust or clean the appliance, or maintain or service it.

Check that the fan heater does not come into contact with water or other liquids. If it is accidentally wet or immersed in a liquid, first disconnect the power supply by turning off the control panel switch, and only then remove the plug from the power socket. Dry both the plug and the power socket carefully before reactivating the power socket. Reconnect the plug to the power socket and then use the appliance. If in doubt, call in qualified staff.

The appliance must not be placed just below a power socket.

The power socket must be easily accessible so that the plug can be removed easily in an emergency.

Do not use this appliance in the immediate vicinity of a bathtub, a shower, a swimming-pool, washbasins, etc.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its aftersales service, or by a person with similar qualifications, to prevent all risks.

This appliance is not intended for operation by means of an external timer or with a separate remote control system, to avoid the risk of fire if the appliance is covered or not correctly positioned. Ensure that there are no other appliances drawing large amounts of power on the same electrical line.

To avoid all risk of electric shock, never immerse the plug, the power cord or the appliance in water or any other liquid.

Unplug the appliance from the socket when not in use.

Do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet.

Never move the appliance when in operation.

Never leave the device exposed to the weather (sun, rain, etc.).

If the appliance is dropped or malfunctions, disconnect the power cord at once. Check all parts for damage and do not switch it on unless certain it is intact: if in doubt, call in qualified staff.

Do not pull on the power cable or the appliance itself to remove theplug from the power socket.

Do not move the appliance by pulling the cable.

Ensure that the heating element is free from dust, fluff or other materials: this improves the fan heater’s efficiency and prevents the appliance from overheating. Check regularly that the intake grille is not obstructed by objects, fabrics or other items, which might cause the appliance to overheat or fail.
INSTALLATION
- After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is intact; if in doubt, do not use it and call in qualified staff. Packaging components (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, nails, etc.) must not be left within reach of children since they are potentially hazardous. All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The secondary elements of the packaging with low weight (es: packing tape) are unmarked as are its small size packing materials, the protective film of surfaces: therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal in force in your municipality.
- Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage values marked on the nameplate are the same as those of the electrical mains, and that the power socket is properly earthed. If the appliance’s plug is not compatible with the socket, have the socket replaced with another of suitable type by qualified staff, who must ensure that the socket’s wire gauge is suitable for the appliance’s power draw (10A) Check that there are no other appliances drawing large amounts of power on the electrical line, to avoid overloads and fire risks. In general, the use of adapters and/or extension leads is not recommended; if their use is unavoidable, they must comply with current safety regulations and their current rating (amps) must be no lower than the maximum current draw of the appliance.
- Before each use, check that the appliance is in good condition and ensure that the power cord is not damaged and do not switch it on unless certain it is intact: if in doubt, call in qualified staff.
- Make sure that the cable is correctly positioned and is not in contact with hot parts or sharp edges, or wound around the appliance or twisted, and does not become entangled, to prevent the appliance from falling.
- Do not hang the appliance on or even place it next to a wall.
- Place the fan heater well away from other heat sources, flammable materials (curtains, upholstery, etc.), flammable gases or explosive materials (spray cans) and materials which may warp in heat. Ensure that gaps of at least 120 cm in front of the fan heater and 50 cm at its sides and rear are left.
- The supporting surface must be stable, large (shelves are not acceptable), not sloping (as the appliance might tip over), smooth and heat-proof.
DESCRIPTION
Wifi heater, usable via Smartphone via application with Android or iOS operating systems.
- Adjustable selections via the Bimar Live Smart APP.
- The APP installation and configuration procedure may be slightly different from what is described in this manual; proceed as indicated in the APP.
- We are not responsible for problems caused by the internet line, the Wi-Fi router and other smart devices.
- Check that the router is for domestic use, that the WiFi network has no access restrictions other than the password, and the presence of a strong and uniform WiFi signal in the room where the appliance is to be installed and used. In general, routers have set up dual-band, i.e. based on dual frequency (2.4 and 5)GHz.
To activate and configure the device, you only need to set the fixed frequency at 2.4GHz (access the IP address of the router and search for the network settings section (image on the side, refer to it as an example; if in doubt, contact professionally qualified personnel). For subsequent uses of the device, if desired, reset the router to dual frequency.
- Make sure that the smartphone is connected to the wi-fi network to be used for the appliance.
First Installation/Setup
Install the “BIMAR life Smart” App via Google Play (Android) or AppStore (iOS), or scan the QR code provided here.
Once installed, the app icon appears. Click the “Bimar Live Smart” icon to run the app.
At the first access, register and fill in your credentials:
- click on “Create a new account”, confirm “I agree” for the data relating to the Privacy Policy (by pressing: ” ” the text of the informative report pursuant to Article 13 of the 2016/679 European Regulation appears, while by selecting “User Agreement” the Bimar srl Service Agreement appears)
- if you want also click on: “I consent to the processing of my data for receiving commercial and marketing communications”
- enter your email address (select the desired country)
- click on the writing “Get the verification code”, wait for a few seconds and then enter the code receivedin the “Verification code” part using your registration email address (possibly also check the Junk e-mail folder, if you don’t receive it in the inbox folder).
Enter your personalized password and click “Done”. If the procedure is carried out correctly, the control panel screen for using the application appears
Configuration via Bluetooth (activate the phone’s Bluetooth connection)
Connect the plug to the power socket and press the 0/I switch (on the back) into the I position.
Press the “ ” button for about five seconds: a “beep” will be heard and the red light flashes quickly; release the “ ” button.
Open the APP on your smartphone: on the first screen click on “ADD DEVICE” or optionally click on ” ****” at the top right and press the writing: “ ADD DEVICE”.
Wait for the device to load, then click on the word “Add”
On the next screen: click on “ ”
“Wi-Fi set-up”: enter: NAME and PASSWORD of your Wi-Fi network, and click on the “Next” symbol to activate the connection.
Wait for the device to connect to the Wi-Fi network and press the word “Finish”.
Configuration without Bluetooth
Follow the procedure in the previous paragraph 2.1. to turn on and reset the device.
Open the APP on your smartphone: on the first screen click on “ADD DEVICE” or optionally click on ” ” at the top right and press the writing: ” “.
In the next screen, click “ ”.
“Set up Wi-Fi”: enter: NAME and PASSWORD your Wi-Fi network, and click on the “next” symbol to activate the connection.
On the next screen: click on the writing “Confirm” to activate, then the LED will flash quickly; after this press on the “Next” symbol.
The countdown will start: Scanning devices ⇒ Register the device on Cloud ⇒
Start the device that stopswhen the connection between your device and the
smartphone has occurred ⇒ **End.

The device can also be paired using the “AP Mode”. Press the top right button,
hold down the “ ” button on the control panel until the red light flashes
quickly, access the smart phone WI-FI settings and connect to the “Bimar Live
Smart xxx” or “Smart Life xxx” network, then press “connect now”
If the above operations do not proceed correctly, the appliance must be reset by disconnecting the plug from the power socket and leaving the fan heater disconnected for 30 seconds. Re-connect the plug to the fan heater power socket and press the switch (on the back) into the I position. Press the “ ” button for about five seconds; a “beep” will be heard and the corresponding light will flash quickly. Release the button.
Settings and customisations
Open the smartphone screen and press in the bottom right corner to customise the following functions: Home management, Message centre, Assistance centre, Configure, In-APP purchases. Press in the bottom centre to customise operation of the device to suit the various scenarios or operating situations provided by the APP (for example: Back home, Leaving home, Dawn, Goodnight, Temperature, Humidity, Weather, Air quality, Dawn/dusk) or in combination with other devices.
Press in the bottom left corner and then in the top of the screen, for example: to customise (update and/or change where permitted) the appliance’s position or the outdoor wind speed, air pressure, humidity and temperature (see right).
Press top right to customise the following: Change Device name, Device position, Check Network, Third-party devices supported: Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Device sharing, Create a Comment group, Device Info, Feedback, Update Firmware, Remove device, Reset to factory settings. The smartphone must be connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data network for remote control.
Voice control
The device is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls. Open the corresponding App/connect the Skill (make sure that the account and password used are the same as those of the “Bimar Live Smart” app) and follow the settings. Google Home: some basic vocal commands are:

Description of fan heater control panel
The appliance has the following adjustment and control elements:

The main switch (I/0) is located on the rear part of the fan heater: in pos. “I” it’s in stand-by and thus the light indicator lights up and an acoustic signal is emitted (“beep”).

“ ” button. It activates the fan heater and when pressed again puts it in stand-by.
-
“ ” button. Each press selects one of the following functions:
-
“ ”: ventilation (corresponding icon on)

“ ”Eco (950W): hot air (corresponding icon and ventilation icon on)
-
“ “ Rapid (1900W): very hot air (corresponding icon and ventilation icon on)
“ ”, use the and buttons and to adjust the room temperature (7-38°C); pressing the button increases, pressing the button it decreases. Based on the difference between the selected temperature and the room temperature, the program activates Eco (950W) or Rapid (1900W) power or ventilation only. When the set temperature deviation is between 1-4 degrees with respect to the room temperature, the ” ” function is activated, while if the set temperature is >4 degrees with respect to the room temperature, the ” ” function is activated; if the deviation is between 0 or less, only ventilation works. Once the selected temperature has been reached, the appliance will operate the fan for approximately 20 seconds and then switch off. -

To deactivate the oscillation, press the button again and the first function (ventilation) is reactivated.
For the automatic function “ ” there is no right-left oscillation.

Button “ “, Timer. It sets the operating time after which the appliance stops (stand-by). Each time the button is pressed, the following are selected in succession: 1h – 2h – 3h – 4h –5h – 6h – 7h – 8h- 0h (timer deactivated); the selected time appears on the display and the “ “ icon is on. When the timer is off the Timer icon and display are off.

Weekly programming: (only activated via Smartphone): sets: the on/off periods for each day of the week and the temperature required. Programming may be: timer ON, timer OFF or timer ON/OFF, in which the on-off periods are set for just once or for every day of the week, mode and the temperature is selected.

Anti-tip switch. In the event of tipping over, it deactivates the device.
-
Safety device to stop operation if case of overheating: to return the device to operation, remove the plug from the power socket and wait for it to cool (about 10/20 minutes), connect the plug and switch it back on.
Use
First use: to eliminate the “new smell” operate the device for 10/15 minutes at maximum power (Rapid): the room should be ventilated during this procedure
- Connect the plug to the power socket and press the switch on the rear to the “I” position; some “beeps” will be heard. The device will switch to standby mode and the red light remains on.
- Press button “ ” to activate the device and select the functions required.
- To deactivate the device, press the ” ” button: the fan will operate for about 20 seconds (the countdown will start) to cool the device completely (if Eco/Rapid/Auto mode was selected). Then set the I/0 switch on 0 and remove the plug from the socket.
During long periods of inactivity, remove the plug from the electric socket.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Warning: before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the power socket and wait for it to cool.
- Inspect the intake grille on the rear occasionally to ensure it is not obstructed by fluff or threads. If the filter is dirty, release the rear grille, clean the mesh with a brush or water (taking care not to damage it), then dry it perfectly and return it to position. Reassemble and put the grille back in place.
- Clean the body of the device with a soft, damp cloth: do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive products.
- If the fan heater is to be out of use for a long period of time, cover it and store it in a dry place. It is best to return it to its original packaging to protect it from dust and damp.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid and do not wash it under running water or in a dishwasher.
- If you decide not to use the appliance any more, it must be rendered unusable by cutting off the power supply cord (first making sure that the plug has been removed from the power socket), and any parts which are hazardous if used as children’s playthings must be rendered harmless.
Information for correct disposal of the product under the European Directive 2011/65/EU.
At the end of its lifetime, the product must not be disposed of with ordinary urban waste. It can be consigned to the special waste recycling centres provided by local government, or by the retailers who provide this service. Proper disposal of a household appliance prevents possible detrimental effects on the environment or health arising from its incorrect disposal and allows the recovery of its constituent materials, generating major savings of energy and resources. The product bears the crossed-out symbol of a wheeled rubbish bin to indicate that it must be disposed of separately. Illegal dumping of the product by the user will be subject to prosecution under the relevant law.

Guarantee coverage starts from the moment of purchase of the appliance as indicated by a fiscally mandatory delivery document (bill or tax receipt or shipping document). Guarantee coverage lasts 24 months and terminates after the prescribed term. Guarantee coverage covers all replacements or repairs that become necessary due to defects in material or manufacture. Guarantee coverage does not cover all those parts which become defective due to failure to comply with installation, operating or maintenance instructions, shipping damage, operating neglect or negligence, improper use or any circumstances which are not due to manufacturing defects of the appliance. Guarantee coverage is also excluded for replacement or repair of all parts subject to fair wear and tear or to expiry, as well as removable parts, light bulbs, glass components, ceramic parts, external tubes, batteries and disposable (throw-away) accessories. Replacements or repairs that come under guarantee coverage are performed free of charge for goods delivered free the Manufacturer’s factory or to one of our Technical Service Centres. The Customer must only pay for shipping costs. Guarantee coverage is not granted if repairs are performed by personnel not belonging to authorized Technical Service Centres or when non-genuine spare parts are used. This warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws in force in the country where the product is purchased.
