Warnings

• Please do not test the smoke detector with open flames, it may ignite or damage the smoke detector, even cause a fire.
• Do not block the opening of the smoke alarm. It is for air circulation so that the surrounding air can be sampled.
• When doing decoration work or other activities that generate a lot of dust, it is recommended to remove the smoke detector first to prevent a lot of dust from entering the smoke detector.

Error alerts situations

• False alarms caused by installation in the kitchen: Long-term accumulated smoke or oily smoke will increase the scattered light received by the light element, and excessive accumulation will cause an alarm signal. If it is to be installed in the kitchen, keep a certain distance from the stove. And clean the alarm once a month frequently.
• False alarms caused by dust or water vapor retention: Water vapor entering the photoelectric labyrinth may condense into small liquid particles at low temperatures. Once it reaches the alarm state, an alarm will also go off. Therefore, in places with a lot of dust or water vapor, for example, the shower room, it is not suitable to install a smoke detector.
• There are many smokers smoking in the same room, which will make the smoke very thick, when it reaches the alarm state, it will trigger an alarm.

Product Information

The SM01 smoke detector can monitor the ambient air. If smoke is detected, the built-in buzzer will activate, let you have valuable evacuation time before the fire spreads. The detector can only provide early warning if located, installed and properly maintained as specified in this manual.

Application site

• In addition to public activity areas, rest areas such as bedrooms in residential buildings, living rooms, dining rooms, interior corridors, the top of the evacuation stairs on each floor, and other spaces exposed to fire hazards.

Installation site

1. Installed in the middle of the roof, the fastest detection speed can be achieved because the detector is closest in space in this position.
   • When installing on the roof: The edge of the detector should be at least 30 cm from the wall.
   • When installing on a inclined or irregular roof: The detector should be kept at a certain distance from the roof. When the slope is less than 30°, the appropriate distance is 0.2m, and when the slope is more than 30°, the appropriate distance is 0.3m to 0.5m.
2. Installation locations and environments to avoid
   • Places where flammable smoke particles are often generated, such as kitchens, garages with flammable exhaust gases, places near stoves, water heaters or gas heaters, particularly humid bathrooms, places with a lot of dust.
   • Near fresh air inlets and outlets or places with excessive wind speed, such as air conditioner, heater, fans and fresh air will blow smoke away from the detector and affect its detection efficiency.
   • Upper part of a gable room An enclosed space, at the corner of a roof or wall, where stagnant air prevents smoke from reaching the detector.
   • Near fluorescent lights. Electromagnetic interference from fluorescent lamps can cause false alarms. Detectors should be installed at least 0.5 m away from such lights.

Ways To Install

Two installation ways: Drill and Non-Drill.

Mounting with screw kits

• Step 1: Twist off the bracket , Mark the location of screw hole on the wall or ceiling according to the screw hole on mounting bracket.
• Step 2: Drill the hole with 5 mm drill, Insert the dowel to the hole.
• Step 3: Screw the bracket on the wall or ceiling.
• Step 4: Attach the detector to the bracket (Align two lines on the back cover and the smoke detector) and twist about 5 degree counterclockwise to lock.

Mounting with Magnet Holder

• Step1: Swipe left and right to separate the magnet holder.
• Step2: Peel off the protective film of tape(the part without magnetic), paste on ceilling or the other installation places.
• Step3: Peel off the protective film of tape (the other part with magnetic), paste on the smoke alarm or the other things you want to install.
• Step4: Attach the two parts of magnet holder.

Note

• Do not vertical pull-down the device when you want to take it off, please sliede left or right.
• Please select suitable places to install the magnet holders.(Clean, dry, flat,etc.)
• Do not intall the magnetic holder on dirty, wet places, east peeling wall, uneven places or other unsuitable places for magnet holder.
• Be careful for the sharp edge of the magnet holder, Don’t hurt your hand.
• Don’t let the children touch it.

Power On/Off the Smoke Alarm

• Power On: Turn anticlockwise to open the back cover, find ON/OFF, use the stick Slide the switch to ON Station, the smoke detector flashes once quickly with the red light, and with a short beep.
• Power Off: Turn clockwise to open the back cover, use the stick to push the button to OFF.

Detector Test

The detector should be tested before installation.

• Manual-Test: After the detector is turned on, find the “TEST/HUSH” button on the detector, just press it once, red LED with 6 times and 6 times Short beep.
  • We advise to test the smoke alarm once a week to make sure the device works well (Buzzer test).
• Smoke-Test: Spread smoke to the detector through the Smoking Entrance. After few seconds, the device beeps all the time until smoke disappear or mute the smoke detector manually.

Caution:

• DO NOT use an open flame to test the device. It may damage the smoke alarm and its sensor, or start a fire.
• Do NOT disassemble the device privately. It contains high-capacity lithium battery. It may cause a short circuit of the battery and cause a fire.

Core function

• Test function: Press the “TEST/HUSH” button, the buzzer will with an alarm sound and the indicator light will flash quickly at the same time.
• Alarm function: When the smoke detector detects a fire, the alarm will beep all the time with the red LED indicator flash until the smoke disappears.
• Silence function: When the detector was triggered, press “TEST/HUSH” button once, the detector will go into silence mode for about 10 minutes. In silence mode, any actions is invalid. After 10 minutes the detector will automatically return to normal mode.
• Insufficient battery reminder function: every 60 seconds, there will be a beep and the red indicator light will flash once.
• Detector Error reminder function: Every 40 seconds, there will be a beep and the red indicator light will flash once.
• Silence mode: the red indicator light flashes once every 8 seconds.

Common errors and troubleshooting methods

Press the test button, but no alarm

Care and Maintenance

• Without disassembling the standalone photoelectric smoke detector, the dust can be blown away with a hair dryer or vacuumed with a vacuum cleaner. In general, cleaning should be done every three months.
• Test at least once a week. You can press the “Test/Hush” button on the smoke detector to test it.
