Product Usage Instructions

D.Connect with APP

  1. Scan the QR code to download the Tuya APP on your smartphone and install it.
  2. Register an account on the Tuya APP.
  3. Ensure that your router supports either 2.4GHz or both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
  4. Connect your smartphone to the 2.4GHz WiFi network and activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  5. Press the test button on the CO Alarm four times quickly. The Yellow LED will flash a few times, then the Green LED will flash rapidly.
  6. Follow the prompts on the Tuya APP to complete the connection.

E.Alarm Test

  • To test the alarm, press the TEST/Silence button.
  • The alarm will sound, and you will receive notifications on your smartphone if the connection is successful.
  • If you do not hear any sounds, please contact us for assistance.

WARNING:

If you suspect symptoms of CO poisoning, immediately contact the proper authorities to resolve all CO-related issues.

F.Silent the Alarm

  • During an alarm, push the test button. The alarm will be paused for approximately 10 minutes.
  • The red LED will flash once every 8 seconds during the pause.
  • The device will automatically reset after about 10 minutes.
  • If the concentration of CO remains at alarming levels after 10 minutes, the alarm will sound again.
  • You can also use the Tuya APP to mute the alarm when it is triggering (except during a test alarm).

WARNING:

  • Before silencing the alarm, ensure that the source of the Carbon Monoxide has been identified and the surroundings are safe.
  • If you are unsure about the cause of the alarm, assume it is due to high levels of carbon monoxide and evacuate your residence immediately.

Note: If you use a remote control to silence the alarm, it should only be used within the line of sight of the CO alarm.

  • You can create a home group on the Tuya APP and invite your family members to join.
  • This way, when there is an alarm, all the members of the home group will receive notifications.

Installation

  • The installation place should have a good WiFi signal.
  • If you have multiple routers that support 2.4GHz WiFi, link the CO alarm with the router that has a good WiFi signal based on the installation location.
  • Recommended installation locations for CO alarms are in or near bedrooms and living areas.
  • Install a CO alarm on each level of your home to ensure that you can hear the alarm in all sleeping areas.
  • If you install only one CO alarm, place it near bedrooms and avoid the basement or furnace room.
  • When wall mounting, ensure that the alarm is out of reach of children. Children are not allowed to operate the CO alarm under any circumstances.
  • Place the alarm at eye level for optimum monitoring of the digital display.

How Much Do You Know About CO?

  • CO can not be seen, smelled, or tasted, But if ingested in a certain amount, it is fatal.
  • The accumulation of CO in the blood is called carboxyhemoglobin (COHb), It interferes with the body’s ability to supply oxygen.
  • Depending on the concentration, CO can kill humans in minutes.
  • The most common sources of CO are malfunctioning gas appliances used for heating and cooking, started vehicles in garages, blocked chimneys or flues, portable fuel-burning heaters, fireplaces, and operating a grill in an enclosed space.
  • Indications of carbon monoxide poisoning include symptoms similar to the flu but without fever.

Product Detail

Switch On/Off the CO Alarm

  • The device is turned off by default before leaving the factory, Before the device can be used, please active the device first
  • Power On: Use a screwdriver or other suitable tools to slide the switch to the ‘ON ‘position, The digital number will change from 000-999 three times. Then the device can work normally.
  • Power Off : Slip the switch to the ‘OFF’ position, and the product will shut down.

Connect with APP

  • Step 1: Please scan the QR code to download the App. Install it on your smartphone and register an account.
  • Step 2 : Adjust the router to support 2.4GHz or both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
  • Step 3: Connect your smartphone with 2.4GHz WiFi and activate the Bluetooth of the smartphone.
  • Step 4: Press the test button four times fast, the Yellow LED flashes a few times, and then the Green LED flashes fast.

Step 5: Operate the Tuya APP following the prompts.

  • It’s easy to connect the CO alarm with the APP. When the connection is finished, there will be notifications to your smartphone. That means that the CO alarm connects with the APP successfully.

NOTE:

  1. The connection should be finished during the Green LED fast flash, or you need to repeat from step 4.
  2. If the CO detector can’t be searched, please turn off/on the Bluetooth of the smartphone one more time.
  3. If the battery is low on the App when first connected, please press the ‘Test’ button on the CO detector. (If the battery is really low, the detector beeps once every 60s).
  4. You can’t check the status by APP because it is a low-consumption device. If the device disconnects with the WiFi for more than 48 hours. It will show offline on the APP.

Alarm Test

  • Press the TEST/Silence button, the alarm will sound.
  • There will be notifications on your smartphone.
  • That means the device works well. If no sounds, Please feel free to contact us for help.

WARNING:

  • Do not ignite combustible materials and start a structural fire.
  • Do not stand close to the alarm when it is sounding. It may be harmful to your ear, so step away when testing.
  • Weekly Test: test this CO alarm once a week.
  • A loud alarm is a warning that unusually high and potentially lethal levels of carbon monoxide.
  • Never ignore the alarm. Take effective measures immediately. Such as opening windows and checking whether families have symptoms of poisoning CO. Contact the proper authorities to resolve all CO problems.

  • If the unit is alarming, push the test button. The alarm will be paused for approximately 10 minutes. The red LED will flash once every 8 seconds.

  • If the concentration of CO is still up to the level alarming after 10 minutes, the alarm will sound again.

WARNING:

  • Before silencing the alarm, please identify the source of the Carbon Monoxide and the surroundings that are already safe.
  • If there is any question about the cause of an alarm, it should be assumed that the alarm is caused by high levels of carbon monoxide.
  • You and your families should evacuate from your residence.
  • Tips: If using a remoter to silence the alarm only be used in line of sight of the CO alarm.

Share with Families

You can create a home group and invite your families to join the group.
When there is an alarm, all the families in the home group can receive the notifications.

  1. In the ‘Me’ interface, touch ‘Home Management!
  2. Create a home and name it. Add or remove the rooms.
  3. Touch the group you just created, and skip to the ‘Home Settings’ interface. You modify the group information and ‘Add Member.
  4. Tap the app icon installed in the pop-up application to the ‘Add Member’ interface. Name the member and enter the App account of the family, Assign the role. Save and be back to the last interface.
  5. The family member logs in App, accept the invitation, and will be added successfully. Then all of you can receive the alarm notification.

Where to Install

  • The installation place should have a good WiFi signal. If you have one more router (Which should support 2.4GHz WiFi), please link with the good WiFi signal one according to installation places.
  • Recommended installation locations of CO alarms should be in or near bedrooms and living areas. It is recommended to install a CO alarm on each level of your home, make sure that you can hear the alarm in all sleeping areas.
  • If you install only one CO alarm in your home, install it near bedrooms, not in the basement or furnace room.
  1. When wall mounting, the installation place should be out of reach of children. Children are not allowed to operate the CO alarm in any case.
  2. Place the alarm at eye level which allows for optimum monitoring of the digital display.

WARNING:

  1. This detector will only detect carbon monoxide around it. However, carbon monoxide may exist in other areas.
  2. This carbon monoxide alarm only detects CO, It can’t substitute other alarms. Such as smoke alarms. It can’t detect smoke or fire. For this reason, you must install smoke alarms to provide early warning of fire to protect vou and your family.

Locations to Avoid

  • Improper location can affect the sensitivity of electronic components and cause damage to the unit and have nuisance alarm, please avoid these places below:
  • Do not install in kitchens, garages, or furnace rooms that may expose the sensor to substances that could damage or contaminate it.
  • Do not install in areas where the temperature is lower than 0°C or Above 40°C. Such as crawl spaces, attics, porches, and garages.
  • Do not install within 1.5m of heating or cooking appliances. (recommends 3m).
  • Do not install near vents, flues, chimneys, or any forced/unforced air ventilation openings.
  • Do not install near ceiling fans, doors, windows or areas directly exposed to the weather.
  • Do not install in dead air spaces, such as peaks of vaulted ceilings or gabled roofs, where CO may not reach the sensor in time to provide early warning.
  • Do not place the alarm where drapes, furniture, or other objects block the flow of air to the vents.

Installation Screw mounting

  1. Remove the mounting bracket from the alarm.
  2. Place the bracket on the installation position and mark the two screw holes on the wall.
  3. Drill holes with a 5mm drill, and insert two plastic dowels with a hammer.
  4. Fix the bracket to the wall with screws (refer to the picture).
  5. Attach the alarm to the bracket.

Install without Drill

There is double-sided tape in the package.

  1. Remove the protective layer on one side of the mounting pad, and stick it to the bracket.
  2. Remove the protective layer on the other side of the mounting pad, and stick the pad where you want to mount the co-detector.

Desk Stand:

The base of the detector is designed to allow it to stand freely on a shelf.

WARNING:

  1. They follow the instructions strictly in case of any injury. the device should be installed by a competent person;
  2. CO Alarm should not be used as a substitute for proper installation, use, and maintenance of fuel-burning appliances, including appropriate ventilation and exhaust systems.

Maintenance and Clean

Please maintain the alarm below to keep the device working properly.

  1. Test the alarm once a week.
  2. Do not paint the alarm.
  3. Never attempt to disassemble the alarm to clean inside or repair it. It may cause malfunction and will invalidate the warranty.
  4. Never use cleaning solutions on your detector. Simply wipe with a slightly damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris.
  5. Some materials, vapors, or gases, can affect the reliability of the alarms in the short or long term. The following is a list of substances at high levels that can damage the sensor or cause temporary readings that are not CO readings:
  • Ethylene, ethanol, alcohol, isopropanol, benzene, toluene, ethyl acetate, hydrogen, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.
  • Also most aerosol sprays, alcohol-based products, paint, thinner, solvents, adhesives, hair sprays, aftershave, perfume, auto exhaust (cold start), and some cleaning agents.

WARNING:

  • The lithium battery (Sealed in) can support the device’s whole life of over 10 years. DO NOT TRY TO REPLACE THE BATTERY.
  • When the product has reached the end of its service life, the device beeps two times every 30 seconds. Please replace the alarm immediately!
